Today it is 70F/21C. Tomorrow's high is forecast to be 28F/-2C. Silly

I think we are going to miss out on the bulk of the snowfall this time though.

Summer is back for now, with solid blue sky this morning, almost no breeze, and temperatures that have reached 31, or possibly 29 (my phone and laptop disagree).  This morning I looked up to see a loud small plane above and was able to photograph it on my phone against blue sky.

Tonight rain is forecast, so perhaps I don't need to water the garden?

There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.

Winter hangs on here, with night time temperatures below 0F/-17C, and about a foot (300mm) of light fluffy snow falling over the past few days. But most of the big storms are passing south and east of here (the Ohio Valley into the northeast US). International Falls (the "Nation's Icebox") continues to earn its title with several recent nights approaching -40 before wind chill.

January and February are both running below average in temperature here, but warmer temps are expected as March (and meteorological spring) begins next week.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

No, I don't think so. More rain is expected yet. No, we don't have to water the garden, which is so soggy it threatens to water us. Whew

I ended up quoting the whole of your post, simply because since that palindrome of a date you posted on, it has done nothing else but rain. Heavily. Maryborough, Gympie and Bundaberg were all under water, right down to Ipswich & Brisbane, itself, curled around its Brisbane River, with fears of the dreadful Lockyer Valley floods of 2011. The massive cyclone followed the coastline southwards, crossed the New South Wales Border into Mullumbimby, Tweed Heads, down to Lismore, Casino, and Grafton. Yesterday, as the rain bomb continued, past Newcastle, we braced ourselves in a dramatically flooded Sydney.....

This morning it actually has stopped raining for a bit. The entire macadamia nut crop has been wiped out, with heavy loss of livestock. I think a medal should have been given to the cool calm & collected cow who somehow made her way to what's left of a Gold Coast beach, from where she was rescued, having been washed down the Tweed River. At least 4 lives have been in New South Wales alone, as well as Queensland's losses.

When you are only over the Ditch, in New Zealand, have you had any repercussions from this rain event so far?

@waggawerewolf27 I'm not aware of our being affected. Late summer and the start of autumn have certainly been cooler than usual. If I watched RV weather more, I'd be better informed.

We just hear it on the news, and comments on FB from friends in Australia.

We had some interesting weather over the weekend. Thursday and Friday were unseasonably warm (highs around 42F/6C), and we even had a thunderstorm and heavy rain Friday evening. Then the cold front came through and we had ice, and Saturday evening about 6 inches (150mm) of powder snow blew through, creating near-whiteout conditions even here in the city (snowfall rates were high, up to 2 inches/hour).

South-central Iowa had a  tornado outbreak associated with this same storm, with the state's first EF-4 (the second-highest rating) in 9 years. Unfortunately at least 7 people lost their lives.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

So it was quite windy today. I personally love windy days; I love to open the window and let all the fresh air in! It was a cold wind, but not the frigid kind like when it's raining or in the dead of winter. The wind has died down, in fact it sounds pretty still. Too bad, I was hoping it'd be windy tomorrow!

There was quite a bit of wind here yesterday.

Spring in Minnesota means the weather is confused. It will go below 0F/-17C here tonight, close to 30F/17C below average. (Northern parts of the state could go below -20F/-29C, rather brisk for so late in the winter).

By Tuesday, it could exceed 50F/10C here - some 15F/8C above average.

At least the sky should be clear tonight and I'm looking forward to seeing the Moon and stars.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Today was a beautiful day temperature-wise where I live. The back door was wide open and my kids were in and out the whole time.

Wishing for some good moisture though and I think I may see a chance for our first spring storms in the upcoming forecast. *crosses fingers*

Yesterday I was outside, wearing a t-shirt, planting my onions in one of my raised beds. This morning we have somewhere between a half inch to a full inch of snow on the ground. Giggle It won't stick around long as it's supposed to be in the 50Fs later today but it's pretty amusing to suddenly have a blanket of snow when the weather isn't exactly cold.

Thankful for the rain/snow we got overnight though! We're sooooo dry.

Looking ahead to next week as we're possibly going to have some thunderstorms on Monday. We're outside of the big severe weather area where I'm at though.

Feels like Spring has finally arrived!

Meanwhile most of the yards around here are still covered in snow, but it's melting fast with recent temps approaching 55F/12C. (We had the first 50F reading of the season a few days ago, about 12 days later than the average. It had been 90 days since it was so warm).

My brother (who lives in more temperate climes) is sending me pictures of his flowers blooming. The ground is still frozen here. However, the big maple  tree near the house is starting to bloom, so spring can't be too far off here either.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

It's barely spring. But it's already hot. Like summer. Which means actual summer is going to be horrendous!

Welcome to Narnia Web, Kokoro Hane. Smile

Much depends on where you live, & in which hemisphere. Here in the Southern Hemisphere, we have had a mercifully mild, even cool summer. By the last week of February, the enormous flooding which started on the Queensland coast, was impacting New South Wales, itself, especially around Lismore, finally going offshore once it gave Sydney a good drenching.  And now it is autumn we are getting a fresh lot of rain, expected to continue until the end of this week, when daylight saving ends.

It looks like the Northern Hemisphere winter was colder than usual, so maybe it is hot now in compensation.

It does rather depend on where you are. Here in the UK, we've had an unusually mild winter overall and we've just had a spate of lovely warm days in the last full week of March. This could mean summer will be hot, or it could mean nothing of the kind. Last year we had snow on the ground for a week at the end of winter and then an outright heatwave in summer!! (And I speak as a transplanted Aussie — honestly, it WAS genuinely hot. Shocked ) But I love how variable the weather is over here. It keeps one guessing all the time — and as my dad always says (back in Melbourne, where it's similarly unpredictable), "If you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes!" Grin

"Now you are a lioness," said Aslan. "And now all Narnia will be renewed."

We have a similar statement here, along with its corollary: summer and winter in the same week.

Temps were in the 60sF/upper teens C just a few days ago, and rain and snow is on the way for the next few days. This late in the winter, however, it's not likely to stay on the ground too long.
