To start us off, a variation on a quote I first learned about in an engineering class - I think this might be the original, and it's attributed to Douglas Adams.

I recently learned about King Gustav III of Sweden, who was so convinced that coffee was poison, he ordered an experiment with a pair of twin prisoners where one twin had to consume three pots of tea a day, and the other three pots of coffee. The king was twenty-five years old at the time the experiment began and convinced that the coffee-drinking twin would be dead within a few weeks. The twins ended up outliving him and the physicians monitoring the experiment, with both reaching their 80s, and the coffee-drinking twin living the longest of all.
I can just imagine the years going by and the king saying to the physicians, "This is going to be the year, guys! I can feel it!" 
And as someone who drinks coffee every day and enjoys it, this really reminds me of the Monty Python sketch with the Spanish Inquisition and their torture devices such as the Cushions and the Comfy Chair.

So, this joke came off a Penguin (the chocolate biscuit/cookie) wrapper, but I thought it was great.

History trivia was made last Thursday, 10th December, 2020. A Piper Cherokee, a light plane, having engine trouble, decided to land on the newly graded & levelled main runway, ready for the tarmac to be laid, for the still-to-be completed Nancy Bird Walton Airport, at Badgery's Creek, in outer Sydney. Work stopped, mechanics were summoned, & photographs were taken. What a shame the plane wasn't a Virgin!
