I'm thinking that they might split up the final book, such as they're doing with Harry Potter and Breaking Dawn. There is a whole lot of stuff packed into the final book so this makes sense to me.
P.S."Brooklyn!"
The first pictures of a blond Josh Hutcherson have surfaced. He's not ultra blond, more of a dirty, natural blond, which is nice. Go here to see what he looks like. His hair doesn't look styled, so I doubt this is the final look.
I know that there's a lot of information in most of these books, but it seems like most book-to-movies are being split into two nowadays meh, I suppose it could work but I'm still not fond of the idea
Oooh, more pictures! Peeta/Josh's hair color is looking better than I expected (it almost looks like the switched Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth's hair colors around ) and I think they went Effie's looking pretty awesome btw, not as pink as I imagined it, but pink enough to be out-there

Four movies not yet 'set in stone'
Lionsgate was smart about one thing however, something that WB and Summit didn't do- the cast is already signed on for four movies just in case. (You don't want those actors to ask for more money later, lol).
Re - Josh's hair for Peeta: I am sorry but that is not what I consider blond. That is brown with a few small blond highlights. Oh, well. I can handle it.
At the same link Kate shared (a big thanks for it!):
~ You can see that Prim (again, she's adorable, btw!) is wearing THE mockingjay pin on her blouse. This may confirm the rumor that Prim gives the pin to Katniss rather than Madge (who can then be cut from the movie).
~ Who is that man with a bald head in a blue striped bathrobe? I'm guessing it's Haymitch just from the costume and the probable scene. Either that or an extra? Who else could it be?
~ Effie Trinket looks appropriately silly. Too bad they decided not to go all-out with her hair... Her costume also fits in with the '40's feel.

Ooooh, I didn't notice that, yeah probably that's what'll happen... Even though I really liked Madge she's not *that* big of a character

I think it kinda looks like Stanley Tucci... but the more I look at it the more I can't decide

I know right? It seems more of a pastel-ish pink rather than something brighter which would be more obscure
gf1, Effie is in a few of the pics on the the link that Kate posted (hope that goes to the right picture, if not i think it's the 6th one)

Adeona-I totally agree Josh's hair is NOT blond.
Prim looks perfect in those pictures and looks really close to what I imagined her like.
Effie is toned done a little but they could always change her hair through out the movie...and with Effie's character she changed it before.
The blue bathrobe guy I have no idea who that is??? Also I really like the Blue dress they picked for Katniss.

OK, I'm not reading anything in this thread until I finish the books!
Since I've heard so much about THG on this forum, I decided I should try them out. So I borrowed the first book from the library a couple days ago and I'm already done with it. I'm going to borrow the next two today.
I was a little surprised that I really like the books! After reading CoN and LotR, it's very hard for any Fantasy type books to excite me. Nothing can be quite as good as CoN and LotR. I didn't like Eragon, A Wrinkle in Time, Oracles of Fire, Starlighter, or Dragons in our Midst. However, I really liked THG. I thought it had a good plot and a nice twist at the end and I liked how the characters were and how they developed. I'm looking forward to finishing the series.
No, Josh's hair is not blond, but he looks leaps and leaps more like Peeta than I thought he would. I keep seeing him as the little kid in Zathura, but he's got a little Peeta goin' on now, too, I think.
Effie looks all right, I guess. I like her hair better than the pink wig described in the books.
And I heartily agree with the splitting of Mockingjay into two films; I'm halfway through the book, and I can't believe I've digested so much information just since the beginning of one book! There's an awful lot happening.
the tagline is up!!!! this is awesome! I love it!

I heard that Danny Elfman is going to be composing the music for Hunger Games; I wonder how that will go off.
I mostly know Elfman from his whimsy, choral-type Tim Burton peices like Alice in Wonderland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I hope he can hold down a serious movie like this one.
In THG, much of Katniss and Peeta's relationship revolves around his saving her life when she was 11. I wonder if that scene will be kept in the final film. If so, we ought to have gotten a 'young Katniss' casting announcement by now, eh? It would be a shame to cut that bit...
Just finished the final book so I can finally answer the questions properly.
What's your favorite book? The Hunger Games. All the books ha the same affect on me though. Part one too long, and not much in it really. Part two better. Part three excellent.
What's your opinion on the ending of Mockingjay? Very fitting. I thought the book was great, better than Catching Fire
Peeta or Gale? Peeta! No question about it. I liked Gale and
Who is your favorite character in the trilogy? Peeta. though the third book gave me some difficulty with this.
Who is your perfect casting for the film? Perfect. Probably none. Jennifer Lawrence is a very good up and coming actress, but I don't think she "is" Katniss. But Still I like her, Guy playing Gale same problem. Josh Hutcherson took me a while to get used to but I like him best, no doubt. All others I don't really think about.
Please note that this Special Feature will be closing on Wednesday, July 27, after which feel free to discuss the anticipated film in the Future Movies thread, and the books, of course, in Books topic. And I'm sure as the movie's release draws close, we will be having another SF on The Hunger Games.
Remember, if you have a request for a Special Feature, please PM one of the Spare Oom mods, and we will be glad to add it to the list.
