It seems like there was about one track worth listening to on there and the rest was musical mush
I've come to eat my words...
My dad found a used copy of the Ever After soundtrack last week. I like it very much. While there are a few tracks that run together, there are many others that are delightful.

Waiting on my order from Amazon to arrive. Along with my textbooks, I bought the Sherlock Holmes soundtrack. I haven't watched the movie yet, but the samples of the soundtrack sounded quite amazing. Very unusual sounding for a Hans Zimmer soundtrack. And it was only $9.99.
I love The Call from the PC soundtrack but I can't buy it on iTunes without buying the entire soundtrack CD.
I've been listening to the soundtrack to "Up" a lot recently, and I'm loving it more and more each time. "Stuff we Did" is so soothing, it immediately calms me and "Memories Can Weigh You Down" is so terribly exciting I can't help bounce in my chair as it's playing.
Michael Giacchino is really quite the genius!

I recently got the Sherlock Holmes soundtrack (there was no way I wasn't getting it, seeing as Hans Zimmer's the composer) as well as the Master and Commander soundtrack, which I've been meaning to get for a long time.
Sherlock Holmes is a really great soundtrack...its main theme is rather like the themes he used in PotC for Jack expanded on and played on a slightly..screechy? *can't think of the right word* violin. Really great.
Master and Commander is wonderful, too...I love the mix of the classical music with violin and cello and then the percussion and epic score.

I really like the LOTR soundtracks! the music is awesome and it makes me feel like I'm going to far places.....

It sounds like the HBP soundtrack is good then. I can't believe I don't have it yet. I am such a bad HP fan.
Yes, every time I listen to the LotR soundtracks after not hearing them for a while, I realize all over again just how good they are.
I've been listening to Broadway stuff recently. I saw In the Heights in New York a few months ago and loved it. The soundtrack of the show is my latest obsession. Now I constantly have the songs in my head and go around using Spanish phrases from the show.
I've also been listening to some tracks from the current West Side Story revival. Some of the Puerto Rican's lyrics have been translated into Spanish, which I think adds and interesting and authentic touch to the show.
Well, over the last few weeks several soundtracks have caught my eye. I've narrowed it down to the three scores to put on my "to get list when I have the spare cash".
The Dark Half, 1993, Composer: Christopher Young. From what I've heard of this score, it's very similar to The Fly II, which I really enjoy. I was able to find the final track on youtube and have watched it several times. I'm looking forward to finally getting this.
---------------
Once Upon a Time in the West, 1969, Composer: Ennio Morricone. Among many things that stood out when I watched this film, the amazing score by Mr. Morricone is one of the few that stuck with me. It's a "speghetti western" score on a truly epic scale. There are only 5 themes in the score, but each one is extremely memorable.
Can't really recommend the film (lots of content issues....), but the score is a definite "must have".
---------------
Predator 2, 1990, Composer: Alan Silvestri. Along with BTTF, this one of the few Alan Silvestri scores that I have been wanting to get for a long time. Very percussive and driving, this has a very jungle-y feel to it.
---------------
Well, those are the three soundtracks I'm planning on getting soon. *disappears back into crowd*

Wh00t!! Alexandre Desplat is scoring the first part of Deathly Hallows!! I'm not a huge Alexandre Desplat fan, sure...none of his stuff on iTunes has actually sounded interesting enough for me to buy it, but none of it sounded bad either, and I would take Desplat over John Williams anyday. I'd take anyone over Williams, honestly. XD
I know that this decision on WB's part has made the large majority of Harry Potter fans really mad because they want John Williams back, but I'm super excited. I had resigned myself to getting John Williams for the last two movies because all the evidence seemed to be pointing that way, but now... 😀 Now all I need is for them to keep John Williams away from DH part 2 and I'll....well, I don't know what I'll do, but I'll be really, really happy. And if they get Hans Zimmer... wow. *hopes*

Yay! No John Williams! I was hoping they would bring Nicholas Hooper back, but at least it isn't John Williams. I don't dislike his music, but I don't love it either. It's like generic movie music. The SW scores are about the only thing of his I really enjoy. Hans Zimmer scoring DH Part 2 would be pretty awesome, especially since he's gotten all experimental lately.
I read back over this thread, looking for tips on which HP soundtrack to buy (I've never seen the films), and ended up picking up the HBP soundtrack (PoA is next on my list). I like 'The Weasley Stomp' and 'In Noctem' best so far. The latter is growing on me--it's so enchanting!
*Enters, does a little house cleaning on this thread and then resurrects it...... again*
Well, today Once Upon a Time in the West arrived in the mail. I must say, it is truly a great score. It worked beautifully in the film and works equally well as a stand alone listen. All the tracks are great in their own way.
There are only two minor complaints about the album:
1. Some tracks sound like they were recorded in mono while others sound like stereo mixes. Also, there seems to be some slight crackle on a few tracks. I'm not sure how much of this is because the master tapes were aging and how much of it is because of the style of recording in 1968.
2. The EQ is slightly off making some tracks louder than others. Nothing major, but just a slight irritation when you're listening to it.
Besides those two minor qualms, the album is great! I'm very glad I bought it. I would also highly recommend it to anyone interested in Ennio Morricone. It's a great starting point album.
BTW, this the GDM Italian import album I bought, so everything is in Italian. Fortunately, there are no liner notes.....

I really like the "Bridge To Terabithia" soundtrack! it's so beautiful and mixes the melodic sad and triumphant themes so well!

I still listen to the LWW soundtrack, I also love Phantom of the Opera, Requiem for a Dream, The first Land Before Time score, Twister (because I love the song "How" and the Van Halen and Goo Goo Dolls songs),
Is there a soundtrack for the show "Lost'?

I think they've released soundtracks for the whole series. I've got the 3rd season soundtrack, it's pretty good.
