Horse_Lover: Oh yeah, we have a Jeremy Camp song or two...
Glenstorm: Mm, that's kind of.. sad. :( But if that's your parents' decision I guess you'll have to respect that.... Even if you don't agree.
Warrior: Agreed...

w4j: i agree with you but my parents don't like anything that's too "rock" or "metal". they say that bands like that sing about desperate situations and that i'm not desperate. and that that kind of music will just fill me with anger. this is not what i think and all i can do is honor their decision. i'm so upset- skillet was my one-day addiction ;) ... :((

wow naiadwalker that is alot! :-o

heehee, claire/heeey. Well, it is a Top 25 list. Makes sense to have 25!
Skillet- Not too big on it, to be honest.
Jeremy Camp- He's pretty good. I do know he's coming to my hometown sometime soon. I don't think I'm gonna be able to go, though.

Do you mean you've never listened to skillet? I've heard them a couple times, because my friends a fanatic.
Fall Out Boy's okay, though.
About rock music for me: I can't listen to it if it doesn't have a good, steady tune. And then when it does, I find myself bobbing my head up and down quite passionately or somehow dancing, which makes me go all crazy. :D/

W4J: I envy people who have such a broad range of music that they like. I'm really picky.

I've listened to the new Relient k album several times now and have come to my conclusion. It's good, but I won't be buying it. The songs are catchy and some are particularly good, but the whole thing is forgettable. I like it, but I won't be listening to it in a month, so I'll pass. Any other opinions?

Don't kick me, but I'm into pop at present. :D

I really like this Christian Pop group called pureNRG. They have very light-hearted, dance-able music and they're not afraid to actually talk about God in their songs. Yeah, saying that sounds funny, but I've come across a bunch of Christian Pop groups that just sing "nice" songs and kind of tip-toe around God.

So..yeah. I'm into indie/alternative as well. Ooh! Speaking of music, my sister is one of my favorite artists! Look up "Grace Ellen" on itunes. She won a song-writing competition out in San Diego this past week. :D

I really like pureNRG, too! They're perfect for kids who want good sounding music with wholesome songs. They have the right mix of straightforward songs that talk about God and then some really uplifting ones from a Christian perspective. (though they don't write their own songs.) I want to get the newest CD, The Real Thing, but I want to preview the songs first on their website. I'm not as sure about the remix CD, though. I've already got the other 3, pureNRG,Here We Go Again, and A pureNRG Christmas.

Ooh! It's cool to meet someone who likes them too. :)

I love it that you can listen to their newest CD online. People can take advantage of this and never buy the CD because they can listen to it on their website, but for me it's always nice to preview their CD's before I buy them. I bought The Real Thing on the day it came out , but I haven't regretted it. Their music has really matured since their started and their songs on the latest album really reflect that, as do their voices.

The remix CD I'm still kind of "eeeeh..." about. Personally, I think the songs were great BEFORE they were remixed. They did not need to be remixed. And the whole disc kind of comes across as techno-weirdness-we're-in-between-making-cd's-so-we-made-this. It's the only one I don't like. pureNRG was great, and aside from reNRGized the music has been steadily great! :D

Catchy + some songs being particularly good = good enough for me to buy it. Especially considering that I am "officially" a big Relient K fan now who will let anything of theirs grow on me. ;)) I was really unimpressed with The Bird/Bee Sides the first time I heard it, but now I love it. Anyway, the only song on the album I'm not crazy about is "Over It"... it's still good and everything but I'm not a huge fan of it. Some of my favs are Sahara, Therapy, I Don't Need a Soul, and of course the last (two) track(s)...ahhh they are so beautiful. There seems to be a lot more piano in this album and I really like that..............
Anyway, I guess all I really meant to say is that I'll be buying it. xD

Wow.. it's nice to find somewhere where I feel like I'm on the same planet as other people in terms of music :)
My friends just totally don't get most of what I listen to :p

Some of my favourite artists are:
Skillet, Starfield, Tenth Avenue North (just recently discovered them, LOVING it), Barlowgirl, Superchick, Relient K, and Lifehouse. I discovered Lifehouse just a little while back and I've been consistently loving all their songs. Although the band isn't necessarily Christian, the lead singer is and I can relate to their songs so well. Great songwriter and singer. Anyone else a fan?

Really? Your music tastes is pretty standard, nothing too crazy there. Or do you mean your friends don't listen to music by Christians?

Before i read this thread i wouldn't have a clue who any of those bands were except relient K. So If Ac has non-christian thread they probably know nothing about some of those bands.

I'm a fan of all those groups.
Tenth Avenue North is on their first CD so you found them at a good time.

Lifehouse,
I am only familiar with three of their songs:
You and Me, Everything, Broken- and I love all three

Actually, Tenth Avenue North has another CD called Speaking of Silence, and I've heard songs on Youtube that aren't on either CD. I think that SoS was released before they got signed, so it's harder to find (although Amazon carries it). The title track is so powerful.

I like a few bands through and through, and then lots of different songs from different artists. I love Switchfoot, Tenth Ave, Relient k, Jars of Clay, Rebecca St. James, DavidCrowder*Band, Sixpence None the Richer, Audio Adrenaline, Tobymac, and Brandon Heath, as well as music from Lifehouse, John Mayer, Imogen Heap, and Coldplay. Oh, and can't forget Michael Jackson. ;) I want to check out Hawk Nelson, Pillar, Fireflight, and Starfield.

(And speaking of Tenth Ave, Mike Donehey recently became a father to a very cute baby girl, so the band's supposedly going to take off the road for a while.)
