I forgot to say that Owl City had two violinists who really added to the music! Loved it! :D

Miss Aravis, Its nice to find someone else who likes Lights! She deserves more popularity, methinks. :) Her song "Lions!" has some of my favorite lyrics...If you haven't heard it already, click! I listened to "Please Don't Go" and loved it, really awesome vocals!
GtG, Aw, maybe Deas Vail and/or Owl City will come near you again some time soon! :) And, *gasp* "Enough To Let Me Go" and "Yet" are two of my favorites (along with "Sing It Out") from HH!
Bookwyrm, Thanks for the link! I'm excited to hear what their new album sounds like!
The Pendragon, I love Fiction Family! "When She's Near" is a great song! Lol! That's funny about "We Ride"!
Aslan's Country, Ahh, that's too bad that you missed Switchfoot! I would love to see them live...

I've been listening to Seabird's latest album obsessively, recently. I love "The Sound of You And I", I could listen to it over and over...and over. :p I also really like "The Good King" and "This Ain't Home".

Has anyone heard Mercy Me's new single, "All of Creation"?
I was just looking at the Billboard Christian Charts and it debuted at #31 this weekend.

The single will be released to buy in March.
But it should have hit radio stations by Jan 29.
I haven't heard it myself. But now I am dying to hear.

I've been waiting for something new from them!!!

They had a sneek peak of the 22th of last month,
but obviously I missed it. I never go to their site. :(

EDIT: I LOVE YOUTUBE! It's on there! Listening to it now. :D

EDIT 2: I love it! I can tell already that I will play this song out once I buy it :p

the thing I don't get it about the song is why do you need to let go "do you love me enough to let me go"...where? to do what? why? I believe good, solid, Christian love relationships should last a lifetime. You shouldn't have to let the person you love/are married to leave you...do you understand what I'm saying? I just don't understand what he means by letting go...same thing as in Yet. She hasn't lost him to what? She shouldn't be about to lost him to something...*sigh* idk...

My friend had the same question. Basically, the song is saying: Do you love me enough to do what's best for me. Not what you want.

There are lots of people SO desperate to get into a relationship. They are only thinking about themselves. Their needs, what makes them happy, etc. The best relationships come from both people sacrificing what they want, & saying "Do I care enough about this person to lay down my own wants, & do what's best for them?"

I love how Jon describes that most love songs are songs of consumption.

"I can't live without you"- "I would die if you ever left me"- These are not the songs of love, these are the songs of consumption.

So, it's not like he's saying he wants her to leave or anything! They should be together, but in that togetherness, they should let that person have enough space to be able to breathe! :p You give a little, and you take a little. Not one or the other.

Yet is completely different. It's a song about hope. When some people go through trial, storms *coughhurricanecough*, they find it difficult to see any hope in a situation. They give up, or in a sense have been "lost". If that makes sense. So, the song is saying, "This is a difficult storm, but I'm still holding onto the Lord, His Word, & His promises. This storm hasn't lost me yet!" I hope that made sense. ;))

I know I'm not responding to anyone's posts. I love music, but I can't even lurk in this thread. 8-| I think it will be the first to close when it reaches 100 pages... ;)

Anyway, I was looking for a song I heard at a church service last night called "I am." I haven't found it yet. But I did find two videos made by a Narnia fan, both with well-chosen pics from Disney's LWW (2005). The first is Mark Schulz's "I am." The second is Marisa's "Angels Wings." Enjoy! :D

What's with the winking. Is this a sly threat or something? And why can't you lurk? It's a free country... er Internet.

I've been listening to Worrisome Heart by the very talented Melody Gardot (blues/jazz).

it seems I have some unexpected and controversial opinions :p

I get it...but it's still not my favorite song :p . Yet sound better now I guess but Enough to Let Me Go is still not a great song in my opinion. The message Jon has behind it is, but I don't think he worded it the way he should have. When I first heard it I though "great it's another breakup song telling the other person if you really love me, you'll let me go and be with someone else b/c it's what's best for me"...now I see it isn't but the lyrics kinda point to that...

You are allowed your own opinion. :) For me, this song is really special because it's NOT a break up song. It's about a love that goes deeper than what I see in a lot of immature boyfriend-girlfriend relationships. It's not the kind of "letting go" that most people do.

EDIT: Switchfoot got a new t-shirt for merch & it's REALLY awesome!

Warrior, you really misunderstood me. /:) My meaning: members post so fast in this thread that lurking is pointless and exhausting. :p

I just can't get into Barcelona. I don't know why.

Recommendation: Free EP from the band Brothers at Sea here. They're pretty good; nothing that special, but worth downloading. I can't find anything on their website that says that they're Christians, but the subject matter and themes of their music makes me almost positive that they are. They say that

We believe in pursuing something bigger than ourselves.

which seems to be a bit of a cop out to me. If you're going to say that, you mgiht as well say what it is, but whatever. I think their lyrics speak for themselves.

I just found out that Seabird is coming to my town! I'm so incredibly greatful for the tiny little bar downtown that seems to attract acts I like when they have a break between San Francisco and LA shows. I don't know anyone else here at college who likes them, but if I can't find anyone to go with, I'll go all by myself. ;)) They're coming with Needtobreathe and Stephen Kellogg, neither of whom I like, but I love Seabird, so I'll definitely go.

Wait... you don't like Needtobreathe?! They latest Cd I like two songs so far,
but I love their Cd: The Heat! it's amazing!

Never heard of Stephen Kellogg,
but I like Seabird- atleast the two songs I've heard so far by them: Not Alone, Don't You Know You're Beautiful

The Pendragon, I saw that T shirt today, but it's already sold out! o.O

Kate: Thanks for mentioning the free EP. I just downloaded it. Right now I'm listening to Sad Freedom and yeah, it mentions God pretty directly ("Oh, my God, will you fix your daughter's step?")
Needtobreathe is ok, but I haven't listened to them much... our radio plays "Lay 'Em Down" way too much and I'm sick of that song now.

that song is good, but if played too much it is tiring.
Besides, it isn't nearly as good as many of the songs in The Heat. I was actually disappointed in their latest Cd a bit.
