So, I'm just randomly popping into this thread, like I do a lot of threads. When it comes to music, I'm most into Christian rock/contemporary. My favorite artists are probably Tenth Avenue North, Relient K, Casting Crowns, Switchfoot, Andrew Peterson, Bebo Norman, and Seabird. I just got Owl City's album Ocean Eyes. I'm not sure what to think of them yet, though, because I haven't listened to them enough. I've also just started listening to Between The Trees. If you've never heard them, I highly recommend them. However, you probably don't want to get their older albums. Their newest one "Spain" is the best.
Oh! It looks like I'm not the only one who is going to the Winter Wonder Jam. Kat, that's so exciting that you got to see Tenth Avenue North at the WWJ! Haha. They're going to be my favorite artist there too. The WWJ tour is coming to OKC, which is just an hour from where we live. I'll have to see how it turns out though...with so many artists and so many people coming, I might not enjoy it that much.

Okay, first of all I'm really sorry for stating my opinion so bluntly! Please forgive me, guys!
I think Mac Powell has a great voice -- and yes, he is classic! I just don't like the style. He's really good, but I really don't like Third Day that much.. they're not my taste. Sorry
Kate, Jason (TAN's drummer) actually recognized me. Then he told the other members and they remembered
About Fireflight, the one of the main things that bothered me was just that the music was too loud to understand Dawn's voice.. you couldn't hear the lyrics at all. You couldn't tell what she was singing. So yes, by their lyrics you would be able to tell that they were singing Christian music, but I couldn't hear the lyrics. (The only way I understood some of them was because I had heard one of the songs before.) Dawn had to really strain her voice and she was almost yelling. I'll give it to her that it was an off day and she can sound a lot better sometimes. Some of you who are going to Winter Jam will probably like them a lot! I like their recordings pretty well. Please remember that I'm not into heavier music(and yes I realize this isn't even heavy. It's all relative), and so I really just can't appreciate them as much. I'm so sorry W4J I didn't mean to come off as being so judgmental but I did...
Miss Aravis, I seriously think you are the wrong audience for the show
You're correct, I was the wrong audience. I liked the rest of the bands a lot better than Fireflight.
Narnian1, those are my thoughts exactly... I think we're on the same page.
Lark, yay, I'm glad you get to go!!! You'll have to let us know what you think.
FFJ, I really like Mighty to Save. It's one of my favorite worship songs.
So I only download the songs that I actually would listen to more than once, instead of the entire album.
Yeah, I used to only buy individual songs, but then I started buying more complete albums... at first I usually don't love a couple songs, but they always seem to grow on me over time if I already like most of that artist's music.
The WWJ tour is coming to OKC, which is just an hour from where we live. I'll have to see how it turns out though...with so many artists and so many people coming, I might not enjoy it that much.
Awesome! Mmhm.. it is a little bit insane to try to get in with so many thousands of people. But I think you'd still like it
Again, I'm really sorry guys I think I need to take a break from all these forums I'm on because it seems like all I've been doing lately is offending people. :'(
no you don't Kat! It's just your opinion, maybe we were a little harsh. Don't go.
Kate: thanks so much for the link! I'm so happy they did a music video . I would also love to see one for Atlantis, it's on of my favorite songs....so beautiful. But like you, I also don't think it will happen.
Aw, Kat, no big deal! I really don't think we're offended. Probably just stating our opinions a bit on the harsh side too...
I read your whole thing--I checked Nweb yesterday and was disappointed you hadn't posted a whole thing on it yet. So I was eager to read it.
I never really liked ThirdDay's style either, believe it or not...
I've never seen Fireflight live, but I can kind of imagine. I've been to lesser known band concerts where it's just all banging and clashing--hard to even hear the singer sometimes, and everything sounds the same. I'm sure doing things live is a bit harder.
Awesomeness about TAN!! Getting autographs would be cool. And neat that they mentioned you playing again!!!
Make sure you let us know the show date and place! Even though I don't know if we'd drive... We didn't even drive to half an hour away where they were playing.
So.
On a random note, yesterday I dreamed we went to the Skillet/Toby Mac concert.
Toby Mac did NOT look like himself though... And, yeah.. My whole family went, which is SO unlikely. Haha. My parents wouldn't want to go I'm sure. And although the little boys might, they probably wouldn't have the money.
And the only Skillet band member I really could see was John... The rest of them were too far back or something... The only song I recognized was "Whispers in the Dark", and my brother was talking during the whole thing no matter how much I told him to be quiet.
There was a bright light shining in my eyes too... So I switched seats. Then I was sitting next to an Elder from our church. Wow, crazy dream.
Anyway, I kept waiting for the flames to shoot up, but they didn't... And TobyMac was singing songs that I didn't recognize. They were all really dumb, probably because I was making them up myself. And I think one of them had something in it about rainbows.... *laugh* Weird.
Yeah, that was my dream. [/serious rambling!]

cool dream QS !
I finally got some of my CDs in the mail. Anatomy (gold edition) and Hello Hurricane! Can't wait to listen to them! Birds and Cages was finally mailed yesteday so I should hopefully have it by the end of the week...
Okay, well I am sorry!! I'll try to watch my mouth in the future
QS: Oh good, I'm glad I wasn't along in my not-really-liking-Third-Day...ness. (? haha).
Right, nothing ever sounds as good live. Who knows, it might have been the venue or problems with their mixing (one of my other friends who's heard Fireflight twice said that one time the mixing was off, and the 2nd time it was waay too loud.) I suppose it was just a combination of those things...anyway. I think I need to stop talking about them.
Ohh speaking of TAN they have a free download right now: http://tenthavenuenorth.com/exclusive It's an acoustic version of Beloved. It's pretty good.
And I think one of them had something in it about rainbows.... *laugh* Weird.
that sounds more like what would be an Owl City song than a TobyMac one That's an awesome dream, lol!!
thanks for the download link kat
i haven't heard all of anatomy yet, but i'm really liking it so far . my dad will probably like "may the horse be with you" b/c he is always talking about horses as glue sticks to my younger horse-loving sister
MissAravis, I'm sorry that my post was so blunt. I apologise. I've edited it because of this.
Narnia1, I'm not sure that having to pull up one's pants more often than normal is un-Christian but it's rather tacky all the same.
Boys and men - we have belts for a reason. Use them properly.
Currently watching:
Doctor Who - Season 11
So I downloaded the Beloved acoustic version last night. haven't listened to it yet though. But I love the song, so I hope to love this version of it. Don't see why I shouldn't.
Kat! My sister was just telling me the other day about the acoustic version of Beloved...thanks for the link!! *downloads*

It's ok, W4J!
Let us know what you think, Narnian1 & Ruby. It uses different chord progressions so I've been trying to get used to that, but I like it. Also, if you haven't already, go to TAN's website to listen to a piano/vocal demo of Hold My Heart. (I might like it better than the original. It also uses different chords in a couple sections)
Liberty, a few of us are on the official SF boards ( http://community.switchfoot.com/community ) but I am not on LOBH. Some other NWebbers may be though.
The Rocket Summer's "walls" is now available for download as a single on iTunes. Check it!
thanks, Kat!
