I've always been kind of sad that I bought The Everglow digitally too Kat. I've always hoped someone might scan the artwork so I could find it online, but I've never been able to. I'm so happy you bought that album. I think it is just wonderful. Do you have any favorite moments? It's definitely still my favorite album of all time.
Purvolume.com has their top 20 unsigned bands of 09 up along with a free track from each band. I listened to them all. My favorite is The Hoodies with Conditions as the runner up.
Has anyone else ever heard Freelance Whales? The definitely are in a category all by themselves. Their kind of like indie folk electronica, if that makes sense. "Hannah" is my favorite.
I still can't believe all the people who are listening to Copeland now. I got so used to being alone in my Copeland-appreciating world. It took me ages to discover them too. I only found them in time for them to put out an album and break up. Their farewell tour does not come that close to me, but they're with Deas Vail and that would honestly be the best show ever. I'm pretty sure I'll be at Spring Break Camp with Intervarsity that week and I won't be ablt to go.
Just sent you a PM with the artwork
Some of my favorite songs on it are Suspension, We're So Far Away, Mistakes We Knew We Were Making, The Ocean, and The Everglow.
I've never heard of Freelance Whales But that's not surprising seeing as I am extremely unfamiliar with most indie music... well, most music in general. You're one of the main people who's helped me get outside my CCM box
That's too bad that you are probably going to miss the Dv/Copeland show. It sounds like it'll be a great tour. Haha, once again, I only started listening to Copeland after you mentioned them.
I wasn't very familiar with popular bands until I started reading this thread. I noticed Copeland because Mike Donehey wore a Copeland shirt in a youtube video I saw, & I also saw Tim Foreman & Chad Butler of SF wearing one. So I was just wondering if they were any good. & it turns out that they were really good!
Chin Up - Copeland, We Are One Tonight - Switchfoot
Me too! I love Chin Up & We Are One! I'm so glad you're listening to their older stuff. Do you like it? Or HH better?

Yeah, lol, in some random fan photos on facebook, I saw that Mike D was wearing a Copeland shirt. That was shortly after Kate told me to look into them.
I love We Are One Tonight, but I'm not too familiar with the rest of the songs on NIS. Sadly, my favorites seem to be the ones that are most popular on iTunes I think I just need to listen to them a lot more to get an idea of what I think of them.
MissA, yeah, it makes me feel not so bad about getting it digitally.
It's just so sad to read in the thank-yous, Matt says something like "Shannon, call me and I'll tell you all the mushy stuff I was going to put on this record."
Aww.. really? I hadn't read it in that much detail, I just sorta scanned it.. That's so, so sad..
Nice iMix, by the way.

Same here.

Yeah he says that in his thank you's...so sad. Speaking of thank you's, today I was reading the thank you's in their new album and Jon Schneck and Ethan Luck don't thank God! Aren't they Christians?!
AC: Glad you got Five Score. I actually didn't like it when I first bought it, but now it's one of my favorite albums of all time ! I was listening to Best THing the other day and sobbing. So, so sad... Is the digital booklet the samething that comes in an actual CD?
Nice iMix, by the way.
Thanks
GtG, The digital booklet is the exact same album art and stuff that comes with the actual CD, just in PDF form. I wish they would have it available for all albums on iTunes!!
Yeah, I noticed that exact same thing in both Five Score and F&NSD the first time I read it - how 2 of the people didn't thank God. In 5 Score Jon and Dave don't thank Him I mean, yeah, I've always assumed they're Christians... if you go to Jon's website he says one of the places to contact him about lessons is his church, so.... yeah, but I dunno about Ethan. He played drums for another Christian band (I don't remember what now) before joining RK...
oh okay, than I have those pics. yeah I noticed they don't come iwht every album, the one album I bought off of iTunes didn't have one so I'm actually gonna buy the CD,
it's really wierd. It actually really upset me. I'm pretty sure they're Christians but still...*sigh* Maybe they think it's...cliche or something? Like instead of saying they thank God so everyone will approve or whatever, they just thank God privately. Maybe like that verse, don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Or something. Idk, they sing Christian songs, are in a Christian band, and as far as I know, pray and go to Church. Maybe they just forgot...
I was very happy last night, I ordered Comatose by Skillet, Ocean Eyes by Owl City, and Birds and Cages by Deas Vail, and a Narnia DVD off of christianbook.com. I had a free shipping coupon so I only spent um, $35.96 . Can't wait to get those CDs! Last night I actually stared at the receipt for like 10 minutes, b/c you know when you want something for a long time, it takes a while to feel like you're really gonna get it
I have 3 CDs to give away! All of them are in new condition! They are...
Brave- Nichole Nordeman
MaryMary- MaryMary
and The Best of Rachael Lampa- Rachael Lampa
just PM me if you want one!
GTG: yay! you are getting Comatose! I knew you'd get it some day!
I heard an interveiw with John Cooper (lead singer of Skillet) on the radio! he said that the reason they put a picture of him all dressed up like a mummy on the cover of Awake was because he was thinking about what it would feel like to wake up after a car crash and find yourself all wrapped up and you wouldn't know what was underneath the bandages. he went on to say that this had a deeper meaning: the fact that the songs on the album Awake all talk about what is inside of you and that went along with the album cover!

Thanks to a friend of mine, I am listening to a lot of Francois Boieldieu......and I may be just slightly obsessed with Handel's 'Messiah' right now. At least, as far as classical music goes.

Gtg, Yeah, I honestly don't know. Maybe they didn't want to offend any of the secular fans who would be reading the booklet... but if so that's dumb
Interesting, Liberty. I was always wondering about the mummy on the cover
mm1991, I really like the Messiah. But I'm not at all familiar with Francois Boieldieu. I've heard the name at least
MissAravis: when I first saw the cover of Awake, I was sure it was John Cooper! I was right! I am glad to know the reason behind the picture.....
does anyone know if Falling Up is coming out with another CD anytime soon?

kat: yeah that would be a really dumb reason...*will try to forget about it as she can't come up with a reason she would understand or like*
cool about the album cover. I just thought it had something to do with waking up, you know a dead mummy with it's eyes (or eye ) open...
btw, Brave by Nichole Nordeman is claimed but the other two CDs are still available. Just pm me if you want one
