One song of mine gained a high play count because my dad needed on the comp. I had the song on repeat because I really like it but my sister found it annoying (she likes it now), so she would leave me alone. I forgot to stop it, and when I got back to the comp, it had about 40 more playes.

Haha stuff like that happens to me all the time!
So I'm listening through the Relient K tribute by the Vitamin String Quartet on last.fm, and I'm pretty ecstatic because I just realized there's harp in some of the songs. Like Getting Into You. Which is weird because I've played Getting Into You on the harp just randomly messing around...
Last week I posted the Top 2009 Songs, #40-#21 list, for my radio station:
Today I write #20-#1, I loved this half.
I already owned all the songs too unlike with the first half, (as mentioned in that post).
#20 Seventh Day Slumber, From The Inside Out
#19 This Beautiful Republic, Beautifully Broken
#18 Red, Never Be The Same
#17 Francesca Battistelli, Free To Be Me
#16 Rush of Fools, Lose It All
#15 Britt Nicole, The Lost Get Found
#14 Lifehouse, Broken
#13 Chris and Conrad, Lead Me To The Cross
#12 Decyfer Down, Fading
#11 Matt Kearney, Closer To Love
#10 Addison Road, Hope Now
#9 FM Static, Take Me As I Am
#8 The Fray, You Found Me
#7 The Afters, Ocean Wide
#6 Jeremy Camp, There Will Be A Day
#5 Group 1 Crew, Keys To The Kingdom
#4 Chasen, Drown
#3 Mainstay, Become Who You Are
#2 Matthew West, The Motions
#1 Tenth Avenue North, By Your Side
Of all 40 Songs, I really like most of them, dislike 3, and LOVE several of them.
I am not at all surprised by who came at #1, but my personal favorite is by far
The Motions followed by There Will Be A Day and third for me is By Your Side.
hmm I've actually heard very few of those songs
The same thing happened to me with my iHome. I put on Leeland's new CD to fall asleep too but then left the my room to get a glass of water. I came back and my little sister had the remote for it in her hands but I didn't think she had pressed anything so I just took it away and went to sleep. I was really tired so I fell asleep during the first song. Imagine my suprise when I wake up the next morning and the first song is still playing! I jumped out of bed and looked at my iPod and my little sister had put the song on repeat! I checked the amount of plays on the computer and it had gained 110 more plays! So I flipped out and deleted it off the iPod (I know I'm wierd but I didn't want it on my top 25 played list since it's not even one of their greatest songs). I don't even know how my sister did it though b/c I can't find a repeat button on the remote!
I got really mad at my friend the other day b/c he said that This is the End (If You Want It) is a bad song. I actually cried after he left I was so omad . The only reason he gave for it being bad was the phrase "I met the devil and I stared her in the eyes. Her hair had scales like silver serpents, I a statue, stood there mesmerized."
By Your Side was number ONE!?!? SWEET! *is happy for TAN*
You already owned all of those? Nice. I haven't heard the Addison Road song or the Group 1 Crew song... other than that I'm familiar with the rest.
yup I already owned all these, so with the one of the first half that I bought,
I own 37/40 songs in this year's countdown. I buy everything I like.
You should give the two a listen, well worth it.
GtG, I actually love that line... the imagery is really descriptive.
Ok, I'll check out those songs, narnian1.
Hahahahah .... oh my gosh. I just watched Relient K's music video for Marilyn Manson Ate My Girlfriend. So lame... that it's hilarious. Chapstick is hilarious too. Right now I'm listening to some of their demos from the All Work and No Play demo album on youtube. Holy cow, Matt's voice... is just awful. It's hysterical. I actually really like the guitars in the demos, just not Matt's voice.
Those sound pretty funny Kat, I'll have to go watch them once I'm finished practicing piano.
*Which, ahem, I guess I'm not doing right now.*

Kat - Yeah, the music vid for Marilyn Manson Ate My Girlfriend is... creative. It was probably the second Relient K music vid I ever watched. I made the mistake of watching it when my sister was in the room, and had to watch it again so I could hear it without her comentary on how weird everything was.

Marylin Mason ate my girlfriend??? Sounds really weird. But I've seen pictures of Marylin Mason and he/she (never been able to figure out which he/she is) is weird.
I've been listening to The Lost Get Found album by Britt Nicole a bunch lately and it's really good. Her music video for The Lost Get Found song is really cool.
*wants The Lost Get Found* Oh, well, the music book is worth it.
Oh, and Julie, it is weird.

I got myself a nice vat of music for Christmas. Here are the albums I ended up with:
Nevermind by Nirvana - What's there to say about this album? I mean, it's only, like, the single most influential and well-known album in, oh, all of alternative/grunge music. Well, I'll say that, nice as Smells Like Teen Spirit, Come As You Are, and Lithium are, I think I like some of the "deeper" cuts more. Especially Breed, Drain You, and Stay Away.
Texas Flood by Stevie Ray Vaughn - Classic blues album, through and through. Admittedly, blues is a genre my extremely-diverse music collection has been lacking a significant amount of, so I'm glad to further diversify it here, especially with such great music by such a great guitarist.
Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth - Another classic alternative rock group, another great alternative rock album. I should mention, I rather dig the drumming of this group, and the songs are great, oftentimes reaching epic proportions (especially the Trilogy).
On a side note, I've been sort-of collecting albums released in my birth year, 1988. Daydream Nation would be one of them; others I have are Green by R.E.M. and Nothing's Shocking by Jane's Addiction. There are a fair number of other albums from this time I'm thinking of getting, such as Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (Iron Maiden), Imaginos (Blue Oyster Cult), ...And Justice For All (Metallica), and likely others...
"A Series of Miracles", a blog about faith and anime.

Among other stuff, with iTunes gift money, I got Hello, Good Friend and Five Score and Seven Years Ago. They're both really good. I still like Do You Feel better, but Hello, Good Friend has some pretty good songs as well. I absolutely love "Goodbye Waves" and "Never Knew". They're all pretty good - there seems to be some variety in style within the album, but it's a pretty solid album. I can't find any one song that I really don't like. That's always a good sign.
As for Five Score, I was expecting to like it a bit better, but it was a good deal on iTunes, so I'm not regretting getting it. I really like "Come Right Out and Say It" and "Give Until There's Nothing Left", and then there's a couple of average ones. Of course, I love "The Best Thing" and "Must Have Done Something Right" (I already had those). And "Deathbed" is absolutely amazing, of course. It really doesn't feel like 11 minutes. And the end is.. so awesome. That's possibly my favourite Relient K song right now. And I was just reading the end of the "Digital Booklet" that iTunes gives you (I know, nothing better to do ) and Matt T plays the French Horn on Deathbed?! That is SO awesome. I knew there was French Horn in Deathbed, but I didn't know that he played it for it. That just made my day.
Yeah, just in case you're wondering, I play French Horn.
Avie by flambeau.
"I'm there through your heartache, I'm there in the storm.. I don’t care where you've fallen, where you have been, I'll never forsake you, my love never ends, it never ends."
-Times, Tenth Avenue North
The Lost Get Found is pretty sweet... the music video is so touching.
Haha, QS, well..congratulations, you have now been another person lucky enough to witness one of the um, most creative music videos ever?
I'm not familiar with any of those albums, stardf. I feel bad. I've heard of most of the artists, though.
AC, ahh, you got Hello, Good Friend! I was thinking about getting it.. it's on my list of stuff to buy. I still have quite a bit of itunes money left but I don't want to spend it all too fast Don't you love that 5 Score comes with a digital booklet? The pictures are awesome (I particularly enjoy the ones of Matt ). It's just so sad to read in the thank-yous, Matt says something like "Shannon, call me and I'll tell you all the mushy stuff I was going to put on this record." sad sad sad Oh, and that's cool that you play french horn! Yeah, Matt plays a TON of instruments, it's pretty crazy.
So anyways, I bought these albums: Never Take Friendship Personal - Anberlin, Captiva - Falling Up(looooving it), Fall EP - Jon Foreman, and then completed the songs on Apathetic by Relient K and The Beautiful Letdown (hadn't owned all of them before), The Everglow - Mae
And then some random songs: Broken - Our Heart's Hero, Breathe You In - TFK, Chin Up - Copeland, We Are One Tonight - Switchfoot, Be My Escape - Vitamin String Quartet, Just Between You And Me - Relient K (cover of the dc talk song)
So yeah... lots of stuff. I really like The Everglow, it just kind of all flows together as one giant song. The only thing that I find really weird about it is the last two tracks (the end of the Sun and Moon and then all of the Epilogue) there's quite a bit of pitch bending going on and it messes with my ears. I was kinda mad that I got it on iTunes since as I listened to the prologue I realized how important the album art was. Fortunately someone on the Switchfoot boards was kind enough and scanned the art and sent it to me.
I'm enjoying Captiva a LOT. I don't understand why it only has a 4 star rating on iTunes.
But yeah... I'm really enjoying everything that I downloaded, which doesn't always happen.
Oh, and I made a random iMix of some of my favorite songs. You can check it out here: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZSt ... 253D143441
