Right now, I am listening to Let's Dance by Hawk Nelson, and I really like it!
Very catchy...

Live Life Loud was really good! I liked the beginning with all the little kids voices. Cute! :p

Friend Like That: awesome guitar riff! Very upbeat! I like it B-)

Thanks for the welcome, everybody! :) Its great to meet other people who like Switchfoot!

Liberty Hoffman: Skillet is awesome! I like their older CDs moderately, but I love Awake!

GTG: Yeah, I saw that! I wish I hadn't already bought the physical CD! :p :( I paid a lot more!

The Pendragon: I would classify Anberlin as Alt-Rock, I've only heard to one of their albums (Cities) though. My favorite song by them is The Unwinding Cable Car--you should look it up if you get a chance! ;) :)

Wow, I haven't been here in forever! I missed 2 WHOLE PAGES!! :-o :((
Catching up...

Same here

Belated conga-rats on winning a place in the music video MissAravis! It looks really cool :)

I've never heard of Falling Up, but they sound pretty cool! I'll have to listen to some of the samples on iTunes :D

ok,
so I started listening to Skillet's Monster and I am really liking it now.
I already enjoyed Hero. So that's two songs off the latest cd I now like.
Still prefer Comatose.

I have to say I love Monster, it's one of my favorite songs on "Awake" B-) Although for some reason...I don't know why, but I think based on the songs I've heard from "Comatose" I think I'll like that one more. I have to wait a little to buy that one, but I can't wait :P

btw Hello Hurricane is only $5 on Amazon for MP3 download right now :D

Really?!?! I may have to get that one early I was planning on waiting until Christmas to get that, Comatose, and Forget and Not Slow Down, but now...:D Thanks for letting me know!

Live Life Loud was really good! I liked the beginning with all the little kids voices. Cute! :p

I agree, I thought it was pretty sweet :P What other songs did you like from the album?

Skillet is awesome! I like their older CDs moderately, but I love Awake!

Haha, I only just got into it (many thanks to Liberty Hoffman :P) but I got "Awake" a week or two ago and really liked it! I thought it would be all their more hard rock, but there was one or two slower songs that were really good too :] I know I already told you this in the NN Graphics thread, but welcome to NarniaWeb!

Glenstorm, Matty T helped with the songwriting and production of Ocean Eyes. He sings background vocals in Cave In, Fireflies (I believe he's doing the "please take me away from here"s), Tidal Wave and The Bird and The Worm.

Does anyone here know if Copeland is good? Or what songs from them are best?

Copeland has really been growing on me. I know Kate really likes them. It's just so sad because they broke up recently :(( Chin Up is one of my favorites. I also love Brightest, Control Freak, I'm a Sucker for a Kind Word, and No One Really Wins.

Miss Aravis: Thanks! :) Yeah, I hope he (Matt Thiessen) comes out with a solo album in the electronic genre...his voice (and the lyrics he writes) would fit very well into electronic music, I think.
Anberlin is awesome, too, by the way! ;) :)

I totally agree, his vocals and lyrics would fit the genre perfectly. I hope Goodbye Dubai actually happens. (the rumored side project w/ him and Adam Young).
And yes they are! :D

Thanks Greenleaf!

Idk why, but I don't really like Hawk Nelson at all. Everyone else who likes RK and SF seem to love them, but for some reason, they aren't similar at all to me. Am I the only weird one who thinks this?

wow matt's in like...everything :p ;)

idk, I like some of Hawk's stuff but I don't find them that similar at all. RK and SF seem...deeper and more poetic...and mature :p .

Yeah, and Adam's getting all the credit! How wrong is that :P lol just kidding! xD ;))

ahh thank you. Yes, I think Relient K is MUCH deeper. Lyrically. And their lyrics are a lot more clever. Plus their music is less repetitive and blah... I don't know why so many people that like RK love HN.

MissA: I kind of like Ace Enders. "Reaction" is pretty good, but I don't like him enough to buy any music. MuteMath's "Noticed" is a very good song. I have two of their songs from their second album, but I'd like to buy more.

About "Seasons," you are correct. It's one of the monthly singles that you can get by donating. Eventually, it'll be part of the (E)vening EP, but I don't know when that will be released since the last two tracks aren't even available for donation yet. You can buy it via PayPal or just wait.

HelloHurricane: I'm so excited for Adam Young and Matt Thiessen's side project Hello Dubai. :) And "Unwinding Cable Car" is such an awesome song.

Glenstorm: You really shouldn't go to that show. ;) I would be so incredibly jealous I don't know what I'd do.

The Pendragon: Anberlin is an awesome alternative rock band. Their best music is on their second and third albums: "Never Take Friendship Personal" and "Cities" respectively. Their style is hard to describe. It's sort of polished on some songs and rough and ambient on others.

Copeland is one of my most favorite bands. They are so quality. I cried the first time I heard "Good Morning Fire Eater." Aaron Marsh is a wonderful vocalist. They are sort of piano based melodic rock with alternative and indie influences. My favorites are the afore mentioned "Good Morning..." and "Control Freak" amoung many others.

My list of songs to check out by Deas Vail is similar to Glenstorms, but I'll add the gorgeous piano ballad "Shoreline" (btw, MissA should check this one out if she hasn't already) and "From Priests to Thieves" from previous albums.

Seabird has made their new album streamable on their facebook. I think my sister and I have decided that all the songs are good, but just not as amazing and outright funky/phenomenal as on their first album. We'll probably buy it though.

Definitely! Ahh! That would be an amazing album! :D (does the big grin smiley creep anyone else out? :p )

Kate: Yeah, Unwinding Cable Car is a brilliant song! :)

I can listen to Hawk Nelson, but Glenstorm is definitely right about SF and RK being more mature and poetic...I mean, compare Your Love Is A Song (probably my favorite SF song) to Live Life Loud, or Forget And Not Slow Down to Friend Like That. They're really not that alike even though a lot of people tend to lump them all into the same style...

Does anyone else love Needtobreathe? Their newest album (The Outsiders) has a sort of Kings Of Leon/southern rock tinge to it on some songs, and then an acoustic/piano driven sound at others (with some stomps, claps, and I think there's a banjo thrown in for good measure! :p ).

MissAravis, you aren't alone. Hawk Nelson has exactly one song I like. The rest I either dislike or outright hate. "Everything You Ever Wanted" especially gets on my nerves.

Kate, I downloaded "Good Morning Fire Eater" when you were talking about it a few days ago and I've been obsessively listening to it ever since. I need to go ahead and get the whole CD.

I knew that HN isn't as deep as SF and RK! And definitely not as poetic. :( I never really expect much when I jump into songs anyways, and I think that's why I liked those three from HN. Not a TON, mind you. but they were pretty good. My favorite was Let's Dance.

I don't really see that much in common with SF and HN. Musically or lyrically. I think people try to string RK and HN together because they are similar musically. HN and SF are nothing alike! Lyrically, RK and SF are both deep and poetic, but in a completely different way. Jon likes metaphors and personification, Matt likes stories and allegory's. Different, but both poetic and deep. Personally, I prefer Jon's poetic style over Matty's. Sorry!!!

I just have to say one thing... Thanks Kat! Now you have Who I Am Hates Who I've Been stuck in my head!!! I have the line "I m sorry for/the person I became."
and that's it... Cause that's all I can remember! lol :p

Thank you for those recommendations! I'm gonna look that up! I heard Chin Up before and I loved it! :D

That's so cool that you're getting the RK cd GTG! :)
