MissAravis, lol I looked Matt up,but couldn't find him.
I think the Owl City thing is more of a blog than a forum. But I've never had a blog before so it'll be a neat experience.
EDIT: Just saw your new profile pic on Facebook.(Your page;not your personal account.) LOOOOOVE it!!
The Pendragon, thanks for mentioning than Jon follows Bryce. I've been meaning to follow Jon,but it keeps slipping my mind.
I watched half of the CMA's last night.(I'm watching the other half later.) I didn't appreciate all the humor, but the Kanye jokes were hysterical!! "Mama's don't let your babies grow up to be Kanye's... Cowboys have manners, they don't interrupt...."
I really wish Rascal Flatts had won best Best Vocal Group of the Year. Lady Antebellum's good, but I think Rascal Flatts is better.
Miranda Lambert was really good, too. I love her voice.
And Keith Urban sang a really sweet song. I forgot what it's called("'Til Summer comes Again" or something like that...),but I think it's on his new album.
I'm kinda advertising here, so, sorry lol. But there's a dude at my college who's in a band called Fades Away (hard rock, Christian), and they're pretty cool, so you'all should check them out on itunes or website myspace.com/fadesawaymusic
The Pendragon, lol, yes, NW is totally the best!
My mom is kinda the same way, but, I think her opinion is changing. Btw, DYTM was on K-Love, which I thought was weird,(but cool!) because they usually don't play alternative rock.
Djaq, yeah I saw their twitters!
That is soo cool that you were playing F&NSD! The chorus is really catchy!
Yeah, I just looked up Fiction Family a couple days ago and was like, hey isn't that the dude from Nickel Creek? And then you posted about it!
I remember you telling me about Jim Brickman! I hope you have fun at the concert
Lark, lol, it seriously took me FOREVER to find him. i was determined though Here's the link though -it's just facebook.com/matthewarnoldthiessen.
oh, and thanks, hehe. I was afraid the sharpie wouldn't come off for a while, but it actually washed pretty easily
Btw, DYTM was on K-Love, which I thought was weird,(but cool!) because they usually don't play alternative rock.
Well, K-love plays SF cuz they're kinda considered more Christian than alternative. Cuz almost all their songs are about God, or about life from a Christian point of view.
About Fiction Family, I just recently got a few songs, my favorites are When She's Near (it's SUCH a cute song!), Throw It Away, and We Ride. They're not as good as SF or his EP's, but I was needing some new music.
I haven't looked up Nickel Creek though. I'm assuming they're good. Does anyone have a favorite song of theirs?

Pendragon, "The House of Tom Bombadil" is my favorite Nickel Creek song. "The Fox" is a good one, too. I actually haven't listened to them in a while.
*goes to catch up on Nickel Creek*
Hey y'all! Been a little while =)
Got a few new songs...
like the new Switchfoot album! I think my favs are Red Eyes and Hello Hurricane. Oh, and Needle in a Haystack. I also got B. Reiths new album Now is Not Forever, and my favorite song is Just For You. No rap just soft music and singing (he's got such a great voice IMO!). I'll post and in depth review of Hello Hurricane sometime, if this is the place for it. If not, I'll just post it on my site.
Au revoir!

I haven't looked up Nickel Creek though. I'm assuming they're good. Does anyone have a favorite song of theirs?
They are good! Some of my favorite songs of theirs are This Side (I LOVE that song!!!), When You Come Back Down, Seven Wonders, Somebody More Like You, Sweet Afton, Smoothie Song, Ode to a Butterfly and a bunch of others that I can't think of at the moment. But, yeah, they're pretty good!
Just as a side note, some of Sean Watkins solo stuff is pretty good as well! I really love the songs Run Away Girl, Hiding, Hello...Goodbye (this one is short, but amusing), and Chutes and Ladders. Run Away Girl is undoubtedly my favorite though, it's beautiful!
RE: Fiction Family - I've heard a few of their songs and liked what I heard (for the most part). Favorites were When She's Near, Not Sure, and Elements Combined (which is sort of a 'sequel' song to Run Away Girl, so of course I liked it. Plus it's got a cool intro.).
Umm, other music that I like... Redcast's Hopeless? (amaaaazing!), Abby I... and pretty much any other song by Redcast. These guys are talented! Oh, oh, just remembered that I also love Autumn Waltz (which they recorded under a different name before they changed it to Redcast).
I pre-ordered Susan Boyle's debut album (I Dreamed a Dream) the other day, so I am really excited about that! I heard some samples on her website and they were, of course, beautiful!
Well, that's all that I can think of at the moment, so I shall depart. Carry on!

just bought through iTunes the new Phil Wickham single "Safe".
I've heard of him for some time now but this is the first song I actually listened to and liked it. Had been waiting for it to release and just found out it did, not sure how long ago either.
ooh, Susan Boyle!
I'll need to look into her CD. I loved her audition. Great voice that woman has.
On Amazon you can get any Country song (of someone nominated for a CMA [$1.29 or less]) for free! Just go to their MP3 page and you'll see the "ad". I got Taylor Swift's Love Story!
Well, K-love plays SF cuz they're kinda considered more Christian than alternative. Cuz almost all their songs are about God, or about life from a Christian point of view.
That's true, but a lot of Relient K, Hawk Nelson, etc songs also are that way, and K-love NEVER plays those. They sort of leave those artists for their sister station, Air 1.
Gave Hello Hurricane a full listen yesterday... ah! it's brilliant! Your Love Is A Song is def my fav, and I know it's lame for my fav to be the popular one, but there's a reason it's popular. I also love Always, and actually I kind of like the 2 heavier ones (mess of me and the sound) although I had already heard them. Oh and I liked the strings in Free.
I forgot about Susan Boyle! I didn't even know she had an album coming out, that's awesome!
I liked Your Love Is A Song, but I actually thought that something was missing. Like a climax in the song, although they rarely do that. I'm not knocking Jon's writing, but I felt like there just needed to be something more. And I usually love everything about their songs, but this time I felt like they didn't really get there. If you know what I mean. It was pretty, but not enough. kinda sad...
Free is really pretty by the way.
but a lot of Relient K, Hawk Nelson, etc songs also are that way, and K-love NEVER plays those.
I know! I hate that! I wish they had a better variety. We don't get K- Love here so in the car we have to listen to this one radio station that plays the same songs over and over again!
EDIT: I love your avie! They are so fun to make into graphics cuz they have great pictures, and they're all really photogenic!

MissAravis, I love you avy too! I'd buy "Hello Hurricane" but my mom has banned me from the music store until after Christmas.
BTW,thanks for helping me find Matt! I found Bryce Avary too!
I'm probably going to get on youtube later or last.fm so I can listen to the new Switchfoot songs. So excited!
MissAravis, I love you avy too! I'd buy "Hello Hurricane" but my mom has banned me from the music store until after Christmas.
have you bought too much music, or do you smell a gift?
I still haven't received my Switchfoot cd, or Jon Foreman's.
Both.
Last weekend my Leeland CD came in the mail,I bought the Tenth Avenue North CD,a Brandon Heath CD,the 2nd Casting Crowns CD,and I got free CD . So I probably have spent a little much on music lately...
But yes I do smell a gift. A Christmas gift probably. I'm asking for a digital camera for my birthday(next Thursday). But I don't mind waiting. Even if I don't get it for Christmas,I can always buy it myself later.
Aww,I'm sorry. Jon Foreman has a solo CD? Somehow I missed that.
I've been craving some celtic music lately...Anyone else like it?
*goes to listen*
I finally just signed up for last.fm... and, ugh, I'm so angry.
I went to listen to the radio.. and apparently if you live outside the US, UK or Germany, you need to pay to use the radio after 30 tracks.
I'm sick of all this music stuff not being available outside of the US, UK.. etc. iTunes.. Amazon.. now this.
I'm going back to YouTube.
Sorry, just needed a place to rant.
Edit: Happy early birthday, Lark.
