Instead of continuing to feel left out from not making it in time to talk about my favorite artists, I will mention other artists with the knowledge that I'm not getting off topic.
Has anyone heard Unhindered or Danyew? I've only heard a song by each of them, but I really liked them and would like to find more.

I'm glad you like them Queen Susan!
winterlife: I like Danyew. I have "Streetlight" which is a really great song. I know he has one other song out, but I don't remember what it's called.
edit: According to AbsolutePunk.net, Matt Thiessen and Adam Young have formed a new side project called Goodbye Dubai. Honestly, I wonder how I didn't predict this. Young has 2 side projects already so he clearly likes doing stuff other than Owl City and Thiessen has experience with them too, and they clearly love working together. They share some lyrical habits and have similar voices and passions, so this project could be really great. I wonder if music could ever be too charming and catchy for its own good...
Yes, their voices seem quite similar to me...
And that is awesome! I read it earlier today, on Wikipedia but it was just a rumor at the time I think.
Anyway--side project as in... CD?? Or... what?

So far I think Beautiful Letdown is there best Cd but I have high hopes for Hello Hurricane as I saw the effort they put into it, saw a video which alone wowed me. so we'll see...
The Beautiful Letdown is really good, 24 being my favorite. But until you know a whole lot about Jon Foreman, and heard his EP's (named after all the seasons, by the way) it won't make as much sense. You can hear all the songs in full length right on their Myspace.
By the way, some really good songs off their older albums are Home, and You from Legend of Chin, New Way To Be Human, Let That Be Enough, Company Car, and Under The Floor from New Way To Be Human, and Learning To Breathe, Love Is The Movement, The Economy Of Mercy, and Living Is Simple from Learning To Breathe. Those are my favs.
Does anyone have a good song recommendation of some songs from Owl City and Danyew? I'll have to look into Fireflies! That sounds cool!

that's neat! I love it when artists work together!
By the way, there's a band out there that isn't very popular called Philmont, but if you wanna get a few REALLY good songs, Another Name, Letter To The Editor, and The Terminal are my favorites. I'll put the link to the rhapsody version of The Terminal on my siggy, if you wanna check it out.

I've been listening to BL for years now and haven't had a problem understanding them, but I can see even that has been limited a bit. I didn't know about his EP's until a week ago and thought they'd be interesting. Haven't bought them but I definitely will now. I also saw that he had another Cd with 12 songs, 10 of which are taken from the EP's so no need to get it as well- but it has 2 "new" songs. I hope to get those by download too.
Thanks for the recommendations, I will definitely get to those, EP's first though.
PS. I just went through the thread looking for recommendations that have been given to me. I've updated my list and have songs from the board from three members:
Pendragon- Switchfoot
SnowAngel- Robin Mark
MissAravis- Relient K
I haven't forgotten and I will get to those I haven't already.
I already got to one of Robin Mark and Relient K, which I stated already on previous posts.
*comes into the thread*
Hello everyone!
I lurk in this thread off and on, but more on than off lately.
I've been listening to Owl City a lot since one of my married sisters brought it back to my memory by falling in love with "Fireflies" when she heard it on the radio. All of his songs are really creative and cute! Very happy!
...but some of my favorites are Hot Air Balloon, Strawberry Avalanche, Vanilla Twilight, Fuzzy Blue Lights, and of course Fireflies.
You just listed off basically all of my favorites. I haven't heard "Fuzzy Blue Lights", though, so I can't say it's one of my favorites.
I doubt that any of you guys have heard of them, but Redcast is a really good band that I recommend! It's three brothers (Jarrod, Seth and Darren Brock), and they are really talented! Their songs are creative, fun and catchy. They just released a new EP (which I haven't bought. Heh heh.), and it sounds really cool!
I don't listen to contemporary Christan music much, but I really like "Dare you to Move", by Switchfoot (I've seen them mentioned a lot in this thread) and "Beautiful Ending", by BarlowGirl. And, Tenth Avenue North, of course!
Anyway, carry on.

Narnian1, sorry, my statement: "But until you know a whole lot about Jon Foreman, and heard his EP's (named after all the seasons, by the way) it won't make as much sense. I haven't actually bought those 2 songs yet, I only have the EP's. I should get those. The EP's are very beautiful, stripped songs that I think he recorded most of at his own house. Most of them were done with just a guitar, strings, and other instruments you either can't quite place, or never heard before, but almost always accompanied with a harmonica. They are mostly slower songs, but very tender and personal. It almost feels like you're reading his journal they're so deep, and yet you can relate to them. It's hard to decide, but I think my favorite is Your Love Is Strong.

oh, now that makes perfect sense then! I've already started with one song, but I guess I will keep the CD in "storage" until I get the EP's then. About Jon Foreman himself I don't know much but I also don't know where to read up a bit either.

yeah, I heard clips, which isn't much to go by but I could tell it was different, in a good way. Now you have me wanting to get those now this minute. I'm buying them off christianbook.com and they have it in sets of two, rather than four, Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter.
Trust me,
before the week's gone, (I mean next week as this week only has Saturday left), I will be here saying I ordered them.

Lol! I hope you like it!

Well, I don't really know either. But I've read interviews and seen their podcasts, and He seems like a guy who felt like for a while that he could "change the world", after seeing all the pain and brokenness in the world. but he figured out that he couldn't, and so I think that Hello Hurricane is just the lamenting of that mistake, hence the lead single, Mess Of Me. But just listening to the songs, you find out a lot about him.

Great to see you in here, Djaq! Look up Fuzzy Blue Lights, it's a cool song.
I'm listening to Redcast's new EP on their myspace right now! I love the piano in their songs!
I heard Jon Foreman's Your Love Is A Song for the first time a couple days ago. It's beautiful. I love the lyrics!
Oh, I know! Are you talking about the one off Hello Hurricane(Your Love Is A Song), or his EP (Your Love is Strong, I know, it's kinda confusing! )? both are great, but I think I prefer the Your Love Is Strong. It's actually fairly easy to play on guitar, and it's so pretty! I remember hearing it on the radio a couple years ago, and really liking it, but never knew who it was by. Then I was listening to the EP and was really glad I found it! I always listen to House Of God Forever after it. They just kinda seem to go together. Has anyone heard In Love by Jon? It's beautiful, and not what you'd expect! It's instrumental for the first minute or so, then he softly sings simple lines: In love, in love, in life, in love, In you, in love, in death, my love
in time, in love, in place, in love.
Then more simple lines, etc, etc. Gorgeous! Oh, and if you haven't guessed, he really likes to write about love!
By the way, Kat, I just listened to The Sadie Hawkins Dance! It's hilarious!

Ooooh... I think it was actually Your Love Is Strong. Since it was by Jon not Switchfoot. Haha, yeah the names are definitely similar! Woops!
I'll have to look up In Love.
Lol, Sadie Hawkins Dance is just classic Relient K. It's not who they are anymore, but I enjoy listening to it still. I didn't know what a Sadie Hawkins dance was until I heard the song and it made me look it up. The "oh oh oh"s are hilarious
Hehe, I've always enjoyed listening to "Sadie Hawkins Dance" too. And I had never heard of it before either.
Anyway. Currently I'm in the mood for CCM Chritmas music--Right now I'm listening to "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" by Jars of Clay. Oh dear--Christmas Music already? I don't know about this year, but last year I have a friend who would've killed me for listening to Christmas music before Thanksgiving.

Wow I haven't been on here in a while. Lately I've been listening to RK (suprise suprise! ), Owl City, and TMac's new single. I bought RK's Mood Rings, I So Hate COnsequences, and Which to Bury; Us or the Hatchet? off of iTunes. I also got Owl City's Fireflies and Vanilla Twlight. Fireflies and Which to Bury; Us or the Hatchet are already on the most played list on the iPod and I just bought them yesterday! I'm seriously like addicted to them!

Me and my friend are slightly *cough* obsessed with Matt...
haha me too- the reason why penguins are now my favorite animal .
Sadie Hawkins is cute and funny but I have to admit, I'm glad RK has matured...
Oh and I got the TAN CD at the MWS concert this past Sunday- it was on sale for only $5 if you bought one of the performers CD. I haven't really been able to listen to it yet but I hope to soon! Speaking of the concert, it was amazing. MWS has such great songs that really make you feel closer to God- I could feel the Holy Spirit there. MWS is really nice too, and humble. He talked to us alot and complimented us alot. He told us we were the best choir he had had so far, and he meant it too, or so his manager said. So cool.
