not to sound rude but you like a lot softer stuff than i do. Relient k is about as soft as i go and i really can't stand the mainstreamness of Five Score. i like metal and hard rock and alternative...anyone here heard Thousand Foot Krutch's new album, Welcome to the Maasquerade?

No problem, you're not being rude we just have different tastes. Yes, I do tend to like softer music in general, I don't like metal or hard rock except for occasional lighter songs by artists that usually do hard rock. TFK's Forward Motion from their new album I think is not heavy at all, certainly not any heavier than Relient K, and I like it. Do you not like I Need You from Five Score? It's def the heaviest from that album, and I don't tend to like music heavier than that.

Oh yes definitely their new album is fantastic ... I love the guitars in Sahara. I'm surprised if you like the album as a whole though, seeing as some of the songs are extremely light (Savannah, Candlelight, Over It, If You Want It, and all of the intros/outros).

its not exactly the lightness i don't like in Five Score, it's the style of most of the songs they are mostly soft and airy, apealing to the public. i don't normally include the intros/outros in my assmetns because the don't have much to do with the album, the outro titled outro was very good though, RK is good with outros, like the one in mmhmm (i don't remeber the name). sahara is great for a band (like mine) because there is so much room to add solos and suff, you know that thrity seconds where it's just a couple different cords, some great solos have come from that.

Kat: Hehe, I never really thought of "I Need You" as heavy at all... ;)) I guess my terms of "heavy" are a little looser then yours. Which is probably obvious by the fact that Skillet is my favorite band. ;)

You mentioned "Forward Motion"... but by Thousand Foot Krutch.
Have you heard Re.K's "Forward Motion" from the album "Two Lefts Don't Make a Right but Three Do"? I like it. :p

Tirian12: I actually thought some of the songs in their new album had a "soft and airy" feel to them... but you're right that it's not as mainstream as 5 score.
QS: lol, I Need You is really not heavy at all compared with hard rock groups, but it's just a lot heavier when compared to most of RK's stuff. Yeah, I actually heard RK's Forward Motion before TFK's, :P so whenever I was listening to Air 1 and they announced the song Forward Motion I was like oooh it's Relient K! oh wait... this doesn't sound familiar... ;))

Reliant K wouldn't be called hard rock at all, maybe something more along the lines of pop/rock/punk, that sort of thing. I'm not really a fan of their music. My brothers play their stuff so often, it's easy to grow sick of it. Sorry.

That's ok, Warrior 4 Jesus, you can have your own opinion. I believe iTunes classifies it as Alternative.

Oh, don't apologize, I totally agree with you. They are definitely not hard rock. Which is one reason I like them. :P (no offense, all you hard rock fans ;) ) yeah, iTunes calls some of their stuff alternative, some of it rock, some of it Christian. Their earlier albums were definitely pop punk or punk rock. They're definitely less "punky" now and more just pop rock.

I just joined last.fm (thanks for mentioning it, Kate, that was where I got the idea... lol ) and I gotta say it's awesome because you can listen to tons of full songs for free. You can enter an artist's name and then it will create a "radio station" (but no commercials!) that plays the full-length songs by that artist and songs by similar artists. And you can set it up so that when you play a song on iTunes or last.fm, it updates the plays on both. It's awesome. I highly suggest joining! I'm not gonna lie, though, it kinda scared me when I transferred all my itunes play counts to last.fm, because last.fm shows the total play counts for an artist... and Relient K has a total of 1,990 plays. I feel like that's a bit much... hehe.

Cool, I'll think about joining. Thanks for telling me about it. :)
1990 plays.. wow. :-o I guess you have to account for how many songs they have. ;)

I have always thought of RK as a Christian rock band. I like hard rock as long as it's not chaos. :p
I like almost every kind of genre of music, pop, rock, soft, rap. As long as the lyrics are good, and I can still somewhat make the out what they are saying :p I'll probably like it. I love it when a song is super creative and has many different elements to it. The song The Shadow Proves The Sunshine is one of those. It starts out really soft and echo-y, then ends in a cool heavy guitar riff. You can listen to it from the link on my sig. It's the youtube version. (by the way, if anyone clicked on my "The Sound" link, sorry about that it went just to their rhapsody page, and not the Sound page! I figured out how to get it to do what I want now!) I also like songs that have a melody that is just so simple and beautiful that you thin, "Isn't that already a tune", or "Why couldn't anyone else or I think of that?", cuz it's just pure genius! Then there are some that are so complex, and brilliant that it's also genius! I love that! :D

Edit: I'll have to check out that last.fm! It sounds great!

Haha, oh yay, I'm glad you guys are enjoying TRS. :) *happy dance :D*

Isn't it fun? :p

last.fm? That sounds quite a bit like Pandora, which is what I use sometimes. :) Anyone else use it? Like it? ;)

Ohhh yeah I used Pandora once, but it had this limit to how many times you could skip a song... that really bugged me. ;)) Maybe it's because I didn't join or something.. I don't know

Me too!!! I've often wondered about that.

I guess you have to account for how many songs they have.

Yeah, that's true. ;)) Even if I only played all of their songs 10 times, they would have at least a thousand plays. :P

Okay, so I just found out the coolest thing! One of my friends knows Bryce Avary! :D It's kind of a long story how I found out but she went to Bryce's wedding, and her dad was the pastor that married Bryce! Lol such a small world! It's just so cool to know someone who knows him... lol. :P Oh, and read this-

He has an album in the works right now but he is discouraged because his label is not giving him enough "wiggle room" to write the songs he wants (some of them were too "spiritual"). Anyways, he needs as much support as he can get right now! He needs fans like you! : )

So yeah, we should pray for Bryce. Pray that his label will let him put what God wants him to put into his music.

Wow,that's amazing that your friend went to his wedding and that her dad married them! I have yet to find my "small world" connection... ;)) :p

That's really awful that Bryce's record label is being that way! Can't he get a new one after so many years or something? :-

I'm totally praying for him. Mabye you should start a thread for him in "Prayer Requests". ;)

BTW,I saw that link you posted to Brit Nicole's vid "The Lost Get Found." I loved it! When she pulled out her Bible to show that one man I brust into tears. It was put together really well.
