You're a shoe-in, Kat! I was showing one of your YouTube videos to my voice teacher (who incidentally thinks Mike Donehey has a great voice), and she said, "Wow, she's talented! She figured all that out by ear?"

I thought that TAN became popular with "Love Is Here." That's how I heard of them. I think it was their first radio single.
Love is Here is how I learned of them,
it was very popular but there is no doubt that By Your Side is what "blew" them up.
Lol, Aww you guys are too sweet. I REALLY want to do it, but I have to see if I can convince my mom to sign the release form saying that she'll let me do it... lol. I'm slightly confused about the rules though, I don't know if you're supposed to have the song playing in the background or not while you do it? Or if they'll even include the actual sound of your instrument/singing? Because with music videos, it's always just the original song dubbed over the video. But anyway...
The Pendragon, You can still make awesome graphics on GIMP! It wouldn't hurt to try!
Winterlife, that's awesome that your voice teacher likes Mike's voice. I personally LOVE his voice... there are actually like, some slight imperfections in it sometimes, that almost make it sound better... I know, kind of weird. But that's so nice of your teacher

Yeah, I think our radio station is just super lame, ;P because it never plays Love Is Here, and I don't think it ever has. By Your Side is the only song it played for a REALLY long time and so it was how I was introduced to TAN.
Haha, the verizon blackberry commercial featuring Switchfoot's The Sound literally just played on our TV!
So, I've been listening to The Rocket Summer, and I think I love it.
I LOVE Run To You and all the songs on the EP. Oh, and also "Never Knew". Kat, do you have any other recommendations? Because I'm just searching around randomly..
I love his voice. It's so... I dunno, but I love it.

Yay! I'm so glad you like him! Yeah, Run to You is amazing, and I also love Never Knew! Forgot to mention that one... hee. Let's see, more songs...Save and Do You Feel I already mentioned, So Much Love, I'm Doing Everything For You, Cross My Heart, That's So You, Colors, Break It Out, and maybe I'll think of some more later
Oh my gosh and I know what you mean! His voice is just so sweet... it makes me want to go "aww" And it sounds so great on those low notes...
I've never heard Regina Spector or Imogen Heap except for the Narnia songs they did.
Lol, that's how I first heard of them, so that was why I decided to look up their other music since I liked their narnia songs so much.
everytime I see one of your posts it reminds me to go look up TRS. I guess I'll get around to it eventually.(procrastinating is my unfortunate specialty )
Haha no problem! I always procrastinate when it comes to looking up music. If you want me to make it simpler for you, just click this link to start with one of their songs.
Wow. Now I know why you like TRS so much. That song was awesome!!Thanks for the link! BTW,I agree with everone else. I watched a few of your youtube videos and they were great!
Switchfoot's on the radio! They're going to be at Liberty University for WinterFest this year. I really wish I was going,so many great artists are going to be there. Fee,BarlowGirl,MercyMe...
Looks like the international market won't be able to get Eisley's new EP Fire Kite. It's not even a matter of buying it from overseas (it's only available as a digital download). Big boo hoo!

I just listened to "Do You Feel" and I think the awesomeness is affecting me...
I listened to all of them. I'm so happy I'm loving it, but at the same time I'm extremely depressed because the last thing I need right now is ANOTHER artist that I desperately need to get all the music of.
Anyway, I'd already listened to some of the ones you mentioned, and I'd already loved Save and had forgotten about it.
Colors and Break It Out didn't really make any impression on me, but I loved all the others. It was cool how That's So You was different from the others in that it was a lot softer and slower.. I like it.

Haha, that's awesome.
This is random, but in the comments on Youtube of the music video, people are saying that at 0:45, it looks like Matt Thiessen, and I have to say I agree. Erm.. what is he doing in the video? lol.

It's a cameo or something. I wouldn't have even know it was Matt either if I hadn't looked at the comments because I don't listen to Relient K that much.
There were some other musicians in the video too,but I didn't know any of them.
I watched the video and I'm pretty sure I also recognized the lead singer of MXPX and someone who looked a whole lot like Andrew McMahon of Jack's Mannequin, but it seems wierd that he would be in a Rocket Summer video.
Anyone excited about the new Seabird album? Their first single "Don't you know you're beautiful" is available on Tuesday from iTunes. It sounds good, but I hope the rest of the album is more of the inventive Seabird we heard last time.
Haha, oh yay, I'm glad you guys are enjoying TRS. *happy dance *
Yes, actually, there are a ton of cameos in the Do You Feel video. And the way I found out about The Rocket Summer is all because Matt Thiessen has a little cameo in the Do You Feel video! (One of my friends shared that video with me, because we're both kind of..*cough*obsessed with Matt. ) I guess Bryce is friends with all of them or something, but at any rate, it's pretty impressive. As far as wikipedia is concerned (edit; just checked a bunch of other places and it's true) the guys in the video are Josh Farro and Jeremy Davis of Paramore, Andrew McMahon of Jack's Mannequin, Matt Thiessen of Relient K, Ian Crawford and Cash Colligan of The Cab, Forrest Kline of Hellogoodbye, Mike Herrera of MxPx, Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low, and Jonathan Cook of Forever The Sickest Kids. SO yeah, lots of famous people. I think it's a really neat video!
I just listened to "Do You Feel" and I think the awesomeness is affecting me...
lol, after I heard it for the first time, I downloaded it from iTunes and put it on a loop. It gained about 50 play counts in a couple days
I'm so happy I'm loving it, but at the same time I'm extremely depressed because the last thing I need right now is ANOTHER artist that I desperately need to get all the music of.
I just joined last.fm (thanks for mentioning it, Kate, that was where I got the idea... lol ) and I gotta say it's awesome because you can listen to tons of full songs for free. You can enter an artist's name and then it will create a "radio station" (but no commercials!) that plays the full-length songs by that artist and songs by similar artists. And you can set it up so that when you play a song on iTunes or last.fm, it updates the plays on both. It's awesome. I highly suggest joining! I'm not gonna lie, though, it kinda scared me when I transferred all my itunes play counts to last.fm, because last.fm shows the total play counts for an artist... and Relient K has a total of 1,990 plays. I feel like that's a bit much... hehe.
The only cameo I recongnized was Matt's. I have no clue who those other people are. Love "Hills and Valleys" too, btw.
EDIT: "You Gotta Believe" is awesome!! Bryce is really talented to be able to do all that he does.
Yeah, I didn't know who most of them were. I recognized Matt and Alex, but not really anyone else. I agree! (obviously! ) The piano in Hills and Valleys is sweet.
Oh, and You Gotta Believe is the song for the music video contest that we have to do... I think, though, since it's a music video, they won't be using our audio - since music videos are always just dubbed with the original song. I guess the goal would be to make it look like in the video you're playing as close to the original part as possible w/ whatever instrument you play... there isn't much piano in You Gotta Believe though.
