On the subject of Joy Williams: I've heard a few of her songs--"We" and "Every Moment" are the only two I can remember right now. I really liked "Every Moment" and I like "We" ok as well, but not as much as "Every Moment."
I may have to check out Skillet's earlier stuff then, because it sounds like I may like it. I really can't make a very good judgment of how heavy they are since I was only basing it on the one song I had heard of them.
Yeah, they do have some softer stuff too. I would suggest listening to:
"Lucy" from the Awake album
"You Are My Hope", "Will You Be There" and "Come My Way" from the Alien Youth album
"Yours to Hold" and "Say Goodbye" from the Comatose Album
and "Rest" from the Invincible album.
I'm just saying that those are some of the softer ones. If you do listen to any of those, please tell me what you think! They have kind of a different style from TAN and Re.K, so... yeah.
And if you think "Hero" is heavy-ish, then you'd probably think most of their music is...
Nice av by the way!

Yep, Skillet's "worship album" is good as well! It's quite lesser known though--sadly. I really like it. Of course, those are songs that they haven't written, they just sing them.
Oh yes, and a song I forgot earlier in my list: "One Day Too Late" from the Awake album. I like that one a lot too. And it's quieter--I think.

By the way, does anyone else love BarlowGirl?
Me again!
I LOOOOVE: Never Alone, One More Round, I Need You To Love Me, Beautiful Ending, and Here's My Life.
I also Love: Grey, Let Go, I Believe in Love, and For The Beauty of the Earth, (this last I haven't found anyone else who likes it) .
And I like: Mirror and Our World's Collide (this last I am just beginning to listen to so it'll take some time to figure out where it will place).
Another song I like is You're Worthy Of My Praise which they did with Big Daddy Weave.

Aww! That's too bad that the Japanese iTunes doesn't have F&NSD. I find that kind of surprising.
Yeah.. they don't have a lot of stuff though. They have all the other RK stuff so I'm hoping it'll go up eventually. Even if it doesn't, if I end up becoming a huge fan, I'm sure I'll find some other way.

Okay, not cool. Eisley's new EP Fire Kite is not available for digital download outside the U.S. This practice is more common than it has any right to be.
The U.S.A is not the whole world!
The only way to get this EP (other than on tour) is to buy it online, digitally. Looks like Australians, Europeans and other people are left out in the cold. Again.

Well someone might post it on youtube and then you can convert it to mp3 using this free down loading program. (DVDvideo soft). Thats what i do when that happens but it may take a while to get on youtube. I hope i read your post right because i could be going on about a whole different thing.
Any fans of Seventh Day Slumber,
Any fans of Disciple
I've heard one song by 7th Day Slumber-- "Mighty To Save"... I like it.
The only song I've heard by Disciple is "After the World" and I liked that one too.
That's too bad, Warrior.
Yay, Kat! Glad you'll listen to a few.

I have Mighty to Save by Michael W Smith,
I wouldn't change it for Seventh Slumber. great song!
(Hillsongs, and others, also cover the song).
I recommend those I listed from them, along with Oceans from the Rain.
Disciple,
if you liked A.t.W. you will love Things Left Unsaid. Give it a listen.

Really? I've heard 3 versions: M.W.Smith, Laura Story and 7thDay Slumber.
Laura Story is probably my favorite version--she's the one who wrote the song anyway I'm pretty sure--then 7th Day.
M.W.Smith... Well, I really don't care for his version.
Ok, I'll listen to it. I'm trying to open it right now... the computer is being slow...

Oh dear, I'm sorry W4J.
I just got back from Mae's (a)fternoon tour with Deas Vail. It was incredible. I know that Mae and Deas Vail have few fans here, but I know there are a few, so I'll talk about my experience all the same. After the rather terrible local band went, Deas Vail took the stage. They took like 30 minutes to do a sound check, but once they started, they were mind blowing. Wes Ballard, the vocalist sings incredibly high, but apparently it takes no effort for him. His vocals are even purer and more powerful live than recorded. The rest of the band backed him up super well.
Mid way through Deas Vail's set, I looked to my right and realized that Dave Elkins, the lead singer of Mae, was standing next to me making faces at the band. I nearly had a heart attack. He stood there for about 15 minutes and then left. I tried my best to enjoy DV's amazing set and also appreciate the fact that the lead singer of my favorite band was standing 4 inches from me.
Deas Vail played some songs off of their new CD and if it's any indication of how the CD is going to be, "Birds and Cages" is going to be incredible. After their set, all the people who'd never heard of them (which was almost everyone) was ready to go home and check them out on iTunes. They had the hands down best performance of the night.
Then Locksley took the stage. Their show was fun and they were talented, but it was mostly lost on the melodic rock fans who were there to see Mae.
Mae finally came out and played a long set of music--mostly their old stuff off of "The Everglow" with a few from "Destination Beautiful" and one from "Singularity". They also pushed their new project, took fan requests, and rocked the house with "The Fisherman Song" as their surprise closer. Mae's performance was fun for a fan to sing along with, but their performance wasn't electrifying despite the many "multisensory" effects they had going on. Overall it was a great show though and I would definitely go again.
Wow that sounds like you had an amazing time at the concert Kate! BTW, I listened to a few Mae songs the other day (ones you suggested and some others) and I really liked them.
QS: I haven't gotten around to all of the Skillet songs, but I listened to Lucy, and it's pretty sweet. The only thing is the lead singer's voice (I don't know his name ) sounds kind of raspy.. or something. But I don't really mind.
Kat: Ooh, good. I'm glad you thought "Lucy" was 'pretty sweet'! It's one of my favorite songs by them... It makes me cry sometimes too... *laugh*
And yes, the lead singer (John Cooper--and that's ok, I didn't know his name for a few months after I decided I really liked his voice) does have kind of a rough/raspy voice... I really like it... I don't know why--just do. I know some people don't though, and that's fine. (I think the voice might've "grown on me" some too...)
Anyways, thanks for telling me you heard it! I was waiting eagerly for you to say something.
Oh yes, and my older brother said that if you've listened to Air1, most likely you've heard "Those Nights" by Skillet as well, because they play it semi-frequently. Have you heard it?
