I'm really surprised more people on here don't like Switchfoot. Right now they are my #1 favorite!
I don't think I've mentioned them once yet but I do like them A LOT!
This is Your Life is my absolute favorite of theirs,
Then comes Awakening, Dare You to Move and This is Home,
I also really like Meant to Live, Gone, We Are One Tonight, Twenty-Four.
Stars is pretty good too.
Yes, I saw them in concert too,
come to think of it I did mention them once atleast when I mentioned the first time ever I heard This is Home. It was in the concert just weeks prior to Prince Caspian being released in theaters.
I think my all time favorite artist is Rich Mullins. I've listened to him for as long as I can remember, and he's the one that made me wanna start playing guitar.
I also LOVE Chris Rice.
Rich Mullins,
I love Awesome God, naturally. Me Deliverer is also really good IMO.
Chris Rice,
I really like a handful of his songs. My favorite: Go Light Your World.
I really dislike his Cartoon Song though, I know alot of people love it, but it doesn't do anything for me. so it has a bunch of cartoon characters' voices in it, that's nice and all, but I don't know...
I really like Bebo Norman! I only have one of his CD's (Between the Dreaming and Coming True) but I love it.
really enjoy his music too,
Great Light of the World is my absolute favorite of his.
I also love: Disappear, Drifting, Break Me Through, Just Look at You, Beautiful You and Britney. I like several others as well.
Special Note: I love his cover of and "with" Rich Mullins of Sometimes by Step.
Also Sara Groves is amazing! She was my favorite (besides Rich M.) since 4th grade, until I found out about... (drum roll, please!)
TENTH AVENUE NORTH!!!!!!!!!!!!! and everyone knows them, and why they're amazing!
Sara Groves,
I've only ever heard one of her songs and rather enjoy it even if it's not a favorite: The One Thing I Know.
Tenth Avenue North,
I only LOOOOOVE one of their songs: By Your Side
But I also Love, Love is Here.
Times is really nice as well after growing on me slowly, though I am not crazy for the way it's sung, the lyrics work well into it which makes me really enjoy it regardless. The lyrics are great and that's the best part.
So, if you actually read this whole post... Thankyou for reading this! I love all you NWers!

Consider yourself lucky,
I usually just skim through posts this long but I love this thread and couldn't just skim it.
Well-well-well... I don't have much to say.
I really like Skillet's song "Come My Way" so I wrote down the intro on the piano. And that was all I had time for. But yeah--I like that song by them--along with many others.

Gotta ask:
Any Sarah Kelly fans here?
For years now I have loved her song Take Me Away
as recently as last year I have grown to love other of her songs which include:
Living Hallelujah, With You, The Beauty of it All, Still Breathing.
I also have to make a special mention of her collaboration with Jars of Clay for I'll Fly Away which I also have loved for years.

I do feel lucky! thank you for reading it! my post was just there anyone who wants to read the weird ramblings of mine! I listen to many more artists than that, but those are the ones that spoke to me the most.

I know exactly what you mean! I don't like his cartoon song either! and i think it's sad that that all people know him from! I only have 2 of his CD's, Deep Enough To Dream and Smell the Color 9.
Sara Groves,
I've only ever heard one of her songs and rather enjoy it even if it's not a favorite: The One Thing I Know.
The One Thing I Know is okay, but definitly not my favorite. That was from the album The Other Side of Something, and I felt like it was kind of a let down. The albums All Right Here, and Tell Me What You Know are way better!
I also like the Jon Foreman EP's Summer, Spring, Fall and Winter, Jars Of Clay, Superchick, Krystal Myers, B. Reith, Shawn MacDonald, Seven Places, Michael W. Smith, Fiction Family,
Seven Places is actually a band that was started by the pastor's son-in-law and worship leader by a church I used to go to, but then we moved away. They aren't well known, but I think that the song Sleepers by them is really good. That song really was the best he wrote. It's so funny b/c I always thought the guy should have been a comedian instead. he was halarious! he had his own podcast on their radio station and it was just a hour of silly stories and stuff! But he moved away! The 9:00 hour just isn't the same any more!
Me Deliverer is also really good IMO.
I love that song! I have a copy of the demo that he made before he died. So sad...

I saw an article about her in a magazine, but I haven't heard any of her songs, sorry! Are those the ones you would recommend?

yes! and in that order too,
inserting her Jars of Clay collaboration, I'll Fly Away, just after With You
There are a lot of artists who I only know 1 or 2 songs from. Like Switchfoot. I've only really listened to This Is Home and Dare You to Move. From what I've heard I'm sure I'd like their other stuff, I just haven't gotten around to listening to any of it. The same was with Relient K (this sounds kinda like what winterlife + GtG were saying), I heard Be My Escape probably about 2 years ago on youtube and I had recognized it because of the ridiculously catchy guitar riff at the beginning... but I never listened to it again until this March when I really randomly was like, hey I remember this totally awesome song by some group with the weird name Relient K ... maybe I'll buy it... and then from there I was like, ya know, I bet their other songs are awesome too. So then I looked up a few more, and well... seeing as they have like 150-200 songs I kind of fell in love with a LOT of their stuff. I can see that happening to me with Switchfoot... I just haven't bothered yet.
Yeah, Mike D quotes Jon Foreman on his twitter all the time! haha!
Only heard a couple PureNRG songs... actually, one of my friends from NarniaWeb who I met in real life is on a mission trip right now with pureNRG! So he's getting to meet them
I really dislike his Cartoon Song though, I know alot of people love it, but it doesn't do anything for me. so it has a bunch of cartoon characters' voices in it, that's nice and all, but I don't know...
Well, I say he does a pretty impressive job with all his imitations, at least. He does sing in the song that the point is cartoon characters CAN'T actually worship God so we have to do it.
I only know that one, and Untitled Hymn.
Skillet-- I've really only heard "Hero" because that's the one that plays on Air 1 all the time. It's a little heavy for my taste, but I do like it. I just don't think I would like listening to a bunch of their stuff all at once.
Seven Places! I love "Watch" and the way I discovered it was when The Scribbler used it for their Edmund music video and it was really touching...
(I know you've seen it, The Pendragon, seeing as she's your sister )
Anyone like Britt Nicole? I downloaded her album The Lost Get Found a few weeks ago and I'm really enjoying it. It has a nice variety of songs. Several are quieter, more ballad-like, with lots of piano, and then others are really buoyant, with catchy techno beats that seriously make you want to dance. I haven't heard much off of her first album, Say It, though.

Same here! I usually hear a song that I like on the radio, and only have that one song. Sometimes i get more songs from them gradually if it's really good.
From what I've heard I'm sure I'd like their other stuff, I just haven't gotten around to listening to any of it.
That's how i am about Relient K! well, i actually looked them up and read some of their lyrics, and they were pretty good! but the first song i heard when i was searching them was deathbed, and it kinda freaked me out, cuz i was skimming through and at that moment matt says "By forty seven I was fourteen, I'd acquired a taste for liquor and nicotine, I smoked until I threw up" I was like "what?! ew!" but then i read the lyrics and it made much more sense!
I really need to look up Skillet! I hear they're pretty good! Does anyone have any song suggestions from them?

Kat, do you like softer songs, or songs with more of a cool rhythm and not so much rock?

I actually haven't! There are some Christian artists that I haven't heard of in a while, and she's one of them. I haven't heard anything about her new album though.
Has anyone heard Joy Williams "We"? that's the only song I have from her, and i've always really liked it.

That's all I can say good about the song, the impressions were great.
Britt Nicole,
I really am enjoying "The Lost Get Found", single as I haven't heard the CD,
I do prefer her sonf "Don't Worry Now". and I also like "Set the World in Fire".
Haven't heard anything else from her.

I have it and mildly like it,
I have to be in the mood fore it otherwise it will just annoy me.
I much prefer her other song "Hide"

Same with me.. except having discovered it somewhat more recently than you, I haven't got to the 200 song stage yet.
I only have a few random songs that I really liked, but as soon as I can I'm getting at least Five Score, MMHMM and Two Lefts. I'm not sure about their older stuff, and Forget and Not Slow Down isn't on the Japanese iTunes.
I really need to look up Skillet! I hear they're pretty good! Does anyone have any song suggestions from them?
I have their Awake album and most of their Comatose album. I haven't listened to much of their stuff that's older than that. (mainly because... it's not on Japanese iTunes ) I agree that they're quite.. heavy - I'm actually surprised I like them because that's not normally my taste. But they have some quieter songs as well. Some of my favourites are Hero, Awake and Alive, Forgiven, One Day too Late, Comatose, The Older I Get, Those Nights, Don't Wake Me, and Lucy. The last two are quieter, especially Lucy. I love Lucy.. it's awesome.

I wouldn't call Skillet 'heavy', Underoath are heavy.
Skillet's earlier music is more electronica/pop than heavy rock. I guess some of their songs are reasonably heavy. I suggest you avoid metal, heavy metal, hardcore and screamo music and about another million music genres if you feel that way.

Yeah, if you hear it out of context, it sounds kind of bad. But really, I think what he was trying to illustrate with that line is that even people with the most screwed up lives can still receive the grace of God.

Aww! That's too bad that the Japanese iTunes doesn't have F&NSD. I find that kind of surprising.
Yeah once I like, "officially" become a fan of a band, xD I feel like I'm really ignorant and horrible if I haven't heard ALL of their songs... like I'm missing a lot... =P I don't know, it's weird, I'm not sure why I feel like that. It's really a problem with me because then that means I'll end up liking most of them and having to buy them.
Kat, do you like softer songs, or songs with more of a cool rhythm and not so much rock?
Well, I wouldn't necessarily say that I prefer softer songs although I do like them, because I like a variety, but in general I'm really not a fan of metal or screamo. Even Relient K's "I Need You" is about as heavy as I like (and compared to heavy metal, it isn't heavy at all), and the only screaming that I've ever heard and not minded is in some of Rk's stuff - but it's always for REALLY short periods of time and is pretty mild (like in I So Hate Consequences, Which to Bury; Us or the Hatchet, Life and Death After Taxes, I Am Understood?). MMHMM really had the most songs w/ screaming out of any of their albums, and it isn't that many songs. Then Five Score and their latest album have none at all. I think they've outgrown it, and I can't say that I mind. I love rock, pop rock, punk pop/punk rock, just not metal. And I'm also fond of techno/synthpop/dance/electronic stuff. I like rock that incorporates electronic elements, like David Crowder Band for ex. But yeah, I do like quieter songs with lots of piano and acoustic guitar (acoustic pop/rock?)... I just don't really prefer them over rock songs that use electric guitars or whatever.

And I do avoid it. There's still a lot of genres left to listen to though =P I may have to check out Skillet's earlier stuff then, because it sounds like I may like it. I really can't make a very good judgment of how heavy they are since I was only basing it on the one song I had heard of them.
I really am enjoying "The Lost Get Found", single as I haven't heard the CD,
I do prefer her sonf "Don't Worry Now". and I also like "Set the World in Fire".
Haven't heard anything else from her.
Yeah, I like Set the World on Fire - it's really good. The first song I heard from her was the one our radio played all the time, You, and I actually don't think it's that great, although it was catchy at the time.
One of my friends (narnian_at_heart) likes Britt Nichole, and has her first CD (can't remember what it's called; can you tell I'm not a fan?). Maybe I should direct her in here.

Here I am!!! Winterlife e-mailed me and told me to come on here. I have Say It and I love it! I haven't gotten her new CD yet though. I'm kind of waiting until my birthday in hopes someone will give it to me. (Hear that, Katie )
By the way, does anyone else love BarlowGirl?
What are your favorite songs from Say It? I should probably just go listen to the whole album. Her new CD is awesome! Safe, Walk on Water, Feel the Light, and Have Your Way are really quiet and pretty. And then Headphones is very catchy (her voice sounds like Avril Lavigne in the chorus lol). Welcome to The Show, Glow, and Like A Star are really danceable. And then of course the title track is great.
And yes, there are quite a few BG fans on here. I'm not one of the hardcore fans though
