Downhere:
I like "My Last Amen" quite a bit, very catchy tune and nice lyrics, but I LOVE "Here I Am". Haven't heard any other of their songs.
After Edmund:
I love "Clouds" and really like "Stealing Away" as well. Haven't heard any other of their songs.
Relient K:
I like one of their "older" songs "College Kids". Onyl pre-MMHHMM cd I know.
I have their MMHHMM Cd and love many of those songs. My favorite of that cd is "Be My Escape".
I have 5 Score,
and like it alot. my favorite song is "Forgiven" and I enjoy "Must Have done Something Right" quite a bit.
The Beeside cd I do not own,
but I do have three songs which I enjoy off of it.
I just didn't get the desire to buy it as a whole.
Off their latest Cd I have the title track so far and am loving it.
I think this will be the third Cd I buy in full from them.
Forgiven from 5 Score is super good, Relient K has the most amazing riffs of any band I've ever listened to. I don't get why SO many people think that Five Score was an absolutely terrible album - I guess they thought RK was "selling out," but the thing is, if RK was selling out, they would stick with their pop punk style that they knew all their fans loved, because they'd probably be appealing to more people. So I think in fact they were taking a big step, especially when you look at their 11-minute Deathbed (which is an all-time RK favorite of mine).
Oh yeah, and Must Have Done Something right is awesome. It's just so darn catchy! The music video is really cute too.
narnian1, did you ever listen to There Was No Thief from Bird/bee sides? If so did you like it?
I love how they've really done a lot of different styles from Two Lefts to their newer albums, one of my favorite piano kind of songs is "Forgiven".
Mhm yeah if you like piano stuff check out This Is The End (If You Want It) - the last two tracks (which are really just 1 track split into two) from their latest. It's gorgeous.

that's one of the three I have from that CD,
And yes I did enjoy it. Still am listening to it alot too,
I put it on my special "current" playlist- this is where all my "to listen to now" music goes into.
I Just Want You to Know and At least We Made It This Far are the other two songs from the CD I have. All three are great songs.
greenleaf: No worries! My favorite song by downhere is actually off of their first album. It's called "Protest to Praise" and it was a bonus track on the WOW 2002 project. That's how I got introduced to them. It's a great song and I prefer that style to their current style.
MissA: I'm with you. I don't understand why people think 5 Score was terrible. I liked it. Everything was so catchy, neatly packaged, and had great lyrics.
narnian1: Have you heard After Edmund's new stuff? You can listen to it on their myspace. It sounds like their adopting a new style.

haven't heard none of it yet.
I don't have myspace, don't like it, could I still listen their songs on there or am I blocked? I'd like to give it a listen.

Ah okay! Awesome!! Very awesome! I'm glad you liked it. I just love the chorus of that one. It's a re-done version of The Thief from the Apathetic EP, but I think it's better than The Thief.

Yeah, when I was reading the review of F&NSD on ap.net, this is what the guy said:
"...the band has somehow outlasted every complication, including 2007’s absolutely terrible output Five Score and Seven Years Ago. That abomination’s only silver lining is its sneak peaks at the joy within Forget and Not Slow Down."
The whole time I was reading that I was just thinking, what the heck!? I think calling it an "abomination" is a tiny bit extreme.

iTunes has some harsh reviews on Five Score,
I personally didn't even know it had hate- and knowing this, even this review, is just WOW. I thought it was quite good.
miss aravis: aaah...I heard he was gonna get married this past August (on the 22nd) I had no idea they broke up. How sad
Oh and I miss Dave as well, but Ethan's nice too. He's the only one in the band (besides Matty T) that looked towards my side of the stage at the concert. The rest of them just looked straight ahead. What about us here on the side huh?

Oh I love that song (the one song my actually enjoys of Relient K's ). I bought the whole 16-page long sheet music off of musicnotes.com and know the whole thing by heart. So cool, and so meaningful. I love that album. Poor RK, I have no idea what people are talking about. I think they're last two albums have shown quite a bit of growing up.
So right now I'm in the process of digging a huge pile of dirt in our driveway and throwing it on the other side of our fence. Why? Because if I do so than I get the Relient K CD earlier (the day I finish that is- it arrived yesterday and I'm dying to listen to it! )
*And dig, and dig, and dig, and diggety dig* I haven't seen Pocahontas in years...
Ah--that makes sense regarding Matt T. I was under the impression that he was already married, and saw him with his then-fiance at Rock the Universe last year. I thought it was his wife. Wow. That's really sad. (Makes me wonder if he's no stranger to break-ups, with "Let It All Out.") I'm going to pray for the guy.
Ah, so After Edmund is coming out with some new stuff? Exciting news!
I really need to buy the Finding Neverland soundtrack...so beautiful. Makes me believe in fairies.
The Fellowship of the Ring might be my favorite of the LOTR soundtracks. Eh--or The Return of the King. "Into the West" makes me want to cry sometimes.
This is your start/This is your heart/This is the place you were born
This is your sun/These are your lungs/This is the place you were born
And I am always, always, always/Yours

Aww, the Must Have Done Something Right girl broke up with him? That's too bad. I guess I can overlook the overabundance of breakup songs then. With further listens, I'm liking the new album more and more.
Calling Five Score an abomination is definitely hyperbolic. Some people just can't get over the fact that Relient K isn't still the goofy punk rock band they started out as.

exactly,
one reason I love them so much is because they aren't that silly goofy rock band anymore. that was good at the time, but I love their more serious mature themes much more. With age does come maturity after all.
narnian1: I don't have a Myspace either. I'm surprised you've never utilized the immense resource of free music that artist post on Myspace! If I want to check out a band, the first thing I do is visit their myspace and listen to the songs they have posted there for listening. It's a great way to quickly decide whether they're worth looking into. It's also the place artists post new music first.
Eisley is coming out with a new EP this Tuesday. The 30 second clips on Amazon of the 2 new songs on the EP sound incredible. I never know whether to buy songs off of EPs like this because these songs will be available on the eventual LP #3, but possibly not for several months.

well I used to use it when I had an account with myspace,
but then I canceled my account and never went back- that was over two years ago.
I'll check After Edmund today then.
Kate, so Eisley's new EP comes out in several days?
Awesome! Thanks for the heads-up, mate.
Currently watching:
Doctor Who - Season 11
so I'm taking my Christmas Cd's and putting those songs I love unto iTunes to later transfer to my iPod.
I need to check out Relient K's- I do have one of their Christmas song.
I don't know if I mentioned before, but I saw them in concert last Nov.
They performed some of their best songs and others off their Christmas CD, (various christian artists were there including TobyMac ).
I need to check out Casting Crowns, Mercy Me and Third Day's Christmas Cd's- I own atleast one of their Christmas songs each.
I also need to check out Chris Tomlin's long awaited Christmas Cd,
it was just released.
I have the first of Point of Grace, but just found out they had a second so I'll need to check it out as well.
