^^really? I thought you said you didn't like Hello Love and that it was bad . I have to admit, I'm a little tired of Arriving and See the Morning, but it's just b/c I've heard them so much, not b/c they're boring. He's a great worship song writer
^^ I guess it's because my dad's a worship leader so we hear all the worship artists so much, but i am tired of Chris Tomlin.....Hello Love is good......I didn't like it before, but I like it better!

I just watched most of TRS's live chat. Did anyone catch what he said about Matty T? Something about them performing together? anyway, i really liked the chat. Bryce seems really sweet
According to Matty T's twitter, he's performing solo acoustic at TRS's release show.
So, I'm really excited because I've been given an awesome opportunity to write music reviews for my favorite music website. As a music-loving English major, this is like a dream chance. A side bonus is that I get to hear music before it's available to the general public because artists send reviewers music so they can review (hopefully positively) and people will buy it.
I've gotten to hear The Classic Crime's new album Vagabonds and it's really good. If you're a fan, then you're in for a treat. TCC are definitely getting a positive review from me. Look for the album coming out in April.
Did anyone else download Angels & Airwave's new free album? It's more of the same, but the original stuff was good and so is the new music. Definitely worth downloading. There is some offensive language though.
wish I was at the release show
That's great Kate!!! I'm so happy for you . Where can you download that album? Amazon?
I bought Of Men and Angels yesterday!!! It's #1 on iTunes right now! Hooray for Bryce! That makes two Christian/Religious CDs that topped the charts this month! The other was TobyMac's Tonight Deluxe Edition.
So I joined the SF boards...3 times. Everytime I try to login it tell me the account doesn't exist. Then I register again, reactivate it, and try login and it doesn't work again. I think I'm done trying
Free Song Alert!
I joined this website today called NewReleaseTuesday. It's a pretty cool site that offers free legal songs for download and has a ton of Christian music related stuff. I got a link to get this free song by Newworldson called "You Set the Rythm". I have yet to listen to it but I thought I'd let you guys know. http://www.inpop.com/freenewworldson/
The website is offering free downloads of "Rediscover You" by Starfield and "The Earth is Yours" by Beautiful Things. They also have free streaming of TRS's new CD Of Men and Angels all week!!!
edit:
Ugh I'm sooo upset right now. I just went on Amazon to see when my recent order would ship and it said that the approximate ship date was March 22!!! That means I won't get Of Men and Angels until the end of Match!!! I'm so upset, I hope someone puts it up on youtube.
So, I'm really excited because I've been given an awesome opportunity to write music reviews for my favorite music website.
Wow, congrats!! That sounds really exciting!!
Does anyone else get the lead singers of Casting Crowns and MercyMe mixed up? Not them themselves, but their voices... I heard the newest MM song on the radio, and I thought it was by CC for quite a few days--until I was told differently. I just think their voices sound really similar...
Avatar by Wunderkind_Lucy!
Lark: Oh, I would love if you could PM it to me! Thanks!

WOW! Very cool! Let us know when you do so we can read them
I downloaded AVA's album a couple weeks ago and was going to mention it in this thread but I didn't think many people would like it... so I didn't.
GtG: I joined that website too, but I always forget to listen to the songs after I download them. lol
Edit: This thread needs to be revived
Anyone heard of He Is We? They're an indie pop band that plays a lot of acoustic stuff. Some is really generic, but I kind of like a few of their songs. Anyway, absolutepunk.net posted a thing linking to a free download of their demos, so go ahead and listen if you want: http://www.absolutepunk.net/artists/sho ... ls&l=24231 It's listed under the first news story.
Also, their purevolume has 2 free songs: http://www.purevolume.com/HEISWE
Speaking of purevolume, there are several free songs you all might like on there. Anberlin has a few free mp3s here and here. Seabird has their song rescue as a free mp3 here. Hmm.. and there are also free mp3s from Superchick & The Starting Line (I really like the free one they have, it's called Best of Me). Then there's this song called Electric Choir by Joywave (they used to be called The Hoodies--Kate mentioned them a while back) and you can get it for free here: http://www.purevolume.com/joywave
Enjoy
newworldson,
I'm not at all familiar with this band, but I knew they were in the top 20 in the station I listen to. So I listened to it today and I think it is very good. Definitely has the potential of being on of my most played songs now. The name of the song is: There Is A Way
I got the free Seabird song, from the links above. Thanks.
EDIT:
Hillsongs: The I Heart Revolution: With Hearts as One
from this Cd I had previously purchased: Nothing But The Blood.
Of course I love that song! But I never did get anything else from the Cd. rented this DVD as well from Netflix and I also loved it. Downloading full Cd now. Only, one song I had purchased with Amazon, so I can't "complete album" and therefore am getting the song a second time.
I'll be deleting this second "copy" of it,
but that's fine. I already have it. I could have purchased each song individually but that would have three times as much.
Full Cd: $9.99
Single: $0.99 each
Total Songs: 30
I now have 3 full Hillsongs CDs: with individual songs off other CDs.
I have a few more to rent within time, my guess is I'll buy those in full too.
Anberlin also has a few free tracks on Purevolume.com. "A Day Late" is a great one as are the two off Blueprints.
I finished my review and it should be posted in a few days. I'll let you know when it is.
MissA: I don't really like He Is We. They're not bad, just not that noteworthy.
I've run across an artist that I think is wonderful. His name is Will Hutchinson and I really encourage you to listen to him here if you like kind of indie/poppy/slowish music. It's very sweet and savory music.

I say listen to Kate,
I did (thanks) and am really enjoying the music for its style.
Is he christian?
narnian1: I haven't seen any indication that he is, but his music seemed fairly wholesome. That's a fancy way of saying, 'I have no idea.'
My first review is up at The Album Project. You can read it here. Vagabonds is a very good album.
Also, Mae has finally released the "November" track from their year long project. It's called "Sleep Well" and it is enchanting. The first half has the potential to be iconic. If only people actually listened to Mae...
Yeah, He Is We is pretty generic, but the music was free, so there's nothing to lose
Awesome review! I was wondering if The Album Project was the site you were talking about. I might have to get the album now
On Tenth Avenue North's website, you can listen to one of the songs from their new album. It's one that I heard them play at WinterJam. http://tenthavenuenorth.com/volumes/post/1053 When I heard it live the guitars were a lot louder and I liked it better that way, but, I need to listen to it more before I can really decide what I think of it. Mike's voice sounds somehow different from O&U. Anyway, apparently it's going to be for sale as a single on iTunes tomorrow.
I'm gonna go listen to the Mae song now!

thanks for the info.
listening to the song right now and it's pretty good. Not at all sure how good yet. I will be buying it tomorrow though so that I can build a feel on it.
EDIT: ok, it's VERY good.
@Kate:I need to listen to more Mae. I think I've only heard half a song. Good review(congrats about the job, btw. )! I've never listened to the Classic Crime, but because of your review I will(very soon) Will Hutchinson's music sounds pretty good.
@narnia1: YESS!! I love that song. *already has it on her iPod * The chorus is beautiful. I think they used cellos in it. Or maybe violins... But it's very ethereal,I think.
Thanks for the feedback on the review guys.
I'm really impressed by TAN's new single. It shows some serious growth by the band musically as well as their characteristic poingant and honest lyrics. this band is going to by HUGE and they're going to be huge for a long time. I don't so much think they'll be huge as far as listener-ship goes, just because they are a Christian artist, but they are going to be very significant in the ever-unfolding history of Christian music. I enjoy the fact that they come across as normal mainstream Christian music, but they have hidden alternative leanings. Very sneaky of them.
@Lark: Look at you taking all my suggestions! Music is so personal and really depends on individual taste and where you're at at that time, but all you can do is check them out. Hope you like them!
