I find it fascinating that Jo seems to be getting a decent winter, but gazer, you are not. I know geographically you are not that close, but in my mind you are right there together and should be having the same kind of winter!

We still have snow on the ground from 2 weeks ago, which is the longest I've ever seen it remain. It is beautiful! We had a dusting of snow night before last, but it was so light that it disappeared quickly. The temperature has been low, but the sun has been out on and off for a few days, which is wonderful! (You won't hear me saying that in a few months!)

Ever watch the news, and the weather forecast does that highlighting with colors where the worst snowfall will be? Yep. We get to be dead center for four, to six inches over the next twelve hours.
Here, and the Mrs. and I have been talking about the lawn getting too brown the last few days.

Stay safe in that snow, MN-ers! And I'm so glad you could enjoy some this winter, ramagut! :D

Yes, no kidding. I have been surprised at their 'brown' weather too (mind you, we have had our small share of wimpy winters in past years), while there is no lack of winter here, that's for sure. Today we have more snow and, as the temperatures rise, that should change to ice pellets and freezing rain, then, for a brief period, rain, then back to snow overnight and turning much colder. What a dramatic weather day. ;))

We're getting another dramatic day tomorrow. High 75F. Low 34F. Rain.

Ok... I'm ready for Spring now.

75F is more like summer (if I had my druthers). ;))

Areas around here reported about 3-7 inches (75-180mm) of powder snow today, driven around by high winds that caused whiteout conditions and numerous accidents.

It will be below 0F (-18C) tonight, but they're calling for temps around 50F/10C next week. Ah, March in the north. ;))

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

I may be speaking too soon, but I think yesterday was our last snow day. We got maybe half an inch on top of some ice pellets so there were lots of fender benders here yesterday morning. But today the high is 38F with loads of sun, so that snow will be gone in no time. After today all of the highs are in the mid to upper 50Fs and by next week they're into the 60Fs. :D I'm definitely ready for spring, if for no other reason to get past this irritating cold and flu season! (Yay for little kids :P )

We are in the middle of a major snowfall. Last I checked, we were at 9" and it's still falling! I hope spring follows this storm! ;))

Yikes! Yep, 'tis winter in the northlands. ;))

Hope that spring weather forecast holds and comes your way soon, fantasia. :D

ramagut, your snowfall pics on FB are gorgeous. Stay safe!

Very cold here still (-25C/-13F with windchill), but this will be changing shortly, as temps begin rising. It should be +6C/43F by Wednesday!, then a decline again as various snowfalls set in from mid-March onward for a bit, according to the long-range forecast. So, even though we still have a lot of snow now, there will be a bit of melting over the next 5 days or so, but then below freezing temperatures again, as winter has its (most likely) final hurrah as April approaches.

On my walk today and yesterday, it was so cold going west, then when I turned around back eastward, I had to start removing outer clothes. Amazing, the difference that wind makes!

Amazing snow pictures from down south! That's what it usually looks like around here. ;))

Our snow season has over 2 months left but it's shorts weather next week!

Pulling out those summer clothes, eh, stargazer? ;)) Or, spring apparel, at least. ;)

I have been meaning to mention that cars tend to disappear in our area once true winter weather hits. And what takes their place? Snowmobiles ... by the dozen! Because we are surrounded by farmers' fields, which are now deep under a thick layer of snow, mobiles are the preferred method of travel. It is totally not uncommon to look over any given field and see a few machines zooming across, especially on the weekends. It's kind of fun! (However, up close, they are bit too noisy for my liking. :p )

73°?! :-o :D Enjoy, fantasia & co! :D

You all enjoy your snow.

I am! :))

I have ridden snowmobiles a few times, ramagut. We used to live in cottage country when we were first married and most everyone had one there (except us, lol), so we had fun chances to ride with others. Hubby has driven one, himself, but I never have. They are loads of fun. But ... noisy! :P

On my walk today, for the first time in weeks, I didn't have to wear a face mask or dicky. It's just below freezing, so is almost 'warm' (relatively speaking ;))) The wind, however, was quite brisk, but the scent of spring was in the air—seeming quite odd with all the snow still. And, well, this is a surprise, we may be getting more snow overnight. I guess a storm veered our way, after all. We shall see ...

A lot of the 9" we got on Thursday has melted in the warm, sunny weather (in the 40Fs!) the last two days. I don't think anything but rain is expected in the near future! Unfortunately, we don't need any more precipitation. We have had flooding, though thankfully there hasn't been much horrible damage. At least that we know of right now.

Stay safe there, ramagut!

I've ridden on a snowmobile but it's been a long time. I grew up on the edge of a small town so their rumble was a constant sound in the winter (even if we got just an inch of snow ;)) ) but here in the city they're not to be seen.

We're saying goodbye to our snow with temperatures even above freezing right now (10.20pm local time) and highs close to 60F/16C. This is about our average date for so warm a temperature.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
