I've been wondering if there's a rhyme or reason to the dwarf names... Duffle makes me think of luggage but Nikabrik is like neekerbreeker which, I believe, is another name for mosquito or gnats.

As for the 7 lords, those mostly seemed to me to be names which sounded lordly more than specifically meaningful. Maybe looking at them will inspire some insights:
Bern
Octesian
Restimar
Rhoop
Mavramorn
Revilian
Argoz
Restimar I think was italian for "rest in sea".
I read a book a couple of years ago where they explained many of the origins of the names for characters in the CON
