It's the end of Narnia as we know it. So sad...

I dreamt that I dwelt in marble halls

If Walden Media drops out, I hope Jerry Bruckheimer Films picks it up, you know, the company that distributed PotC and NT films? And hopefully Disney buys the franchise back. I just don't trust Fox after they screwed up Alien, Predator and X-Men franchise (Well First Class was very good but can it keep it up the quality with it's sequals?). Besides, Disney will put lots of bonus materials when the film comes out in BD, something VDT BD lacked.

I dont know who to believe, but either way there is still a glimmer of hope regardless of whether Walden dumped Narnia like a bad date.

Mmmk, I know what AC is saying, and I know it's from Walden....not denying that at all. But we have a problem cause the current anonymous source is equally as viable. At the moment, I don't know what to believe. But if the behind-the-scenes people don't know whether or not more movies are being made, I'm not holding out much hope. That's all I'm gonna say right now. We're still hoping for more comments from the production.

I'm not sure how these things work, but is it possible that they've just put all pre-production efforts on hold (script-writing, what have you) until they decide whether or not they will proceed with a Narnia film, rather than walking away from the table all together?

One other interesting tid bit I've gleaned from this article is that it appears that the problem preventing them from moving forward is their negotiations with Gresham.

Also, it indicates that Walden aren't selling their rights to the property, so we can't expect any announcements about the franchise moving forward without them.

Well if it's cause of Gresham, I'm sure he has some very good reasons :-s

I hope Gresham is having a serious talk with them. Either make faithful adaptations or don't make these movies at all. [-(

It sounds like there is a whole lot of nothing going on.

VDT released over six months ago....and they are still just kind of sitting around wondering what to do. This makes a fourth film seem very doubtful.

I'm not saying anything is certain. But I would be a little surprised if we saw a fourth film green-lit.

The fact that it has been six months since VDT was released and no sequel is officially on the way should not worry anyone.

Even before it was delayed, there were plenty of behind the scenes negotiations going over "Prince Caspian." And Fox waited a full year before announcing a sequel to "Percy Jackson."

Things appear to be up in the air still. If VDT had beaten PC in the USA and made at least $150 million, I think things would be moving along faster. If VDT had reached $200 million, I think they would have gone ahead with The Silver Chair.

As it is, we are in a rumor zone and just have to wait until more official information is released over time. Too bad things couldn't have been different and every Narnia movie a solid hit. But that wasn't to be, unfortunately. :(

Part of me is glad if this is true, but most of me just hopes they can all come to consensus about how to proceed next. The good thing about Walden was that it was family-oriented and is still that way. That was the original vision of Cary Granat wasn't it? To make films that he wouldn't be ashamed of his family seeing.

In a way it's probably good that there is this break. If someone else takes over (which wouldn't be soon if Walden still has options on the remainder of the books) it would be good if they were faithful to the books. I just hope the waiting time allows the next few to be made within our lifetimes.... ;)

Maybe it's the other way round as others have already speculated and the C.S. Lewis Estate is dropping out of Walden/Fox? :)
