^^ good point, but I have seen other trailers for other movies where they do something that isn't ever in the movie!
for example: the infamous "I am Prince Caspian" shot of Caspian in his armour in the PC trailer.....
It is a very different thing to have an actor make a quick shot saying something then to have Aslan roar just for the trailer. Aslan being entirely CG would make it very expensive to make a fake shot of whereas a shot of Caspian saying 'i am Prince Caspian' would be very easy.
This is why they had Tilda Swinton on set to film for PC even though they used a lot of effects in her shots. It is hard and expensive to do CGI.
There are no clouds in the sky. There is only the open sun and the Lord watches.
Also, many times scenes that are put into the trailer get edited out of the movie altogether. There are some directors who are notorious for intentionally using scenes or takes that are ultimately cut from the film in their trailers just so not too much is given away in the trailer. Robert Rodriguez is one who is known to do this. If anyone saw the trailer for the recent film Predators, and then saw the movie, you will notice that there are several scenes in the trailer that aren't in the actual film.
However, I agree with Decarus that it would be irrational, especially with VDT getting a scaled back budget, for the SFX team to spend valuable time and money on a few second clip only used for the teaser trailer.
decarus: that's true.....makes me wonder......
bkey: exactly! I have seen lots of trailers that have shots that don't even make it to the deleted scenes, or shots that are from deleted scenes!

I think this shot will surely make it into the movie, both shots of Aslan roaring in the previous trailers made it into the final cut, (which i hadn't exactly remembered). I like the idea of Aslan roaring to let Caspian know that he has to go back to the ship! I also don't really understand what this "door" is. I mean, the book just says that the sky sort of opens and they get whisked away.. I don't really understand how that could translate to film... suggestions?

The sky is like a wall, and as it is opened a blinding light comes through, they say their good-byes, they walk through the light, and find themselves back in Cambridge. By the way, if Eustace was wearing his English clothes when he became a dragon, and he comes back to his normal clothes like everyone else has done, then will the diamonds still be in his pocket?

Oh, thanks for the help Dinode! Eustace's clothes look Narnian to me during the scene in Aslan's Country.

You're welcome. His English clothes disappeared when he turned into a dragon, along with the diamonds in his pocket and the clothes come back after they return to Cambridge, like the Pevensie's clothes at the end of LWW. Would the diamonds too?

What diamonds?

Before Eustace falls asleep he puts Octesians arm ring on his arm and a bunch of diamonds in his pocket. I am wondering what ever happened to those diamonds. It would be kind of funny if back in England Eustace finds them still in his pocket. Perhaps they could use them to buy back the professors house?

I really don't know.. I think they would just disappear, because somehow Aslan would work his magic and wouldn't want to tempt Eustace any further... I honestly don't know, but that's a great question, and I hope it appears in the movie!

I think the diamonds would probably have disappeared. You just can't carry stuff from Narnia back to Earth. (Except in the special occasion at the end of Silver Chair, when Aslan arranges the whole thing. I've always loved the line at the end about Jill wearing her Narnian gown to a fancy dress ball later! That would make a great movie scene...)
Hearkening back to an earlier discussion:
I think it very unlikely they would create a fake shot of Aslan roaring because it is so expense for them to create shots of Aslan.
But they could change the background easily enough, could they not?
Something I've been thinking about from this trailer (apologies if this has already been discussed and I missed it! ) is what is going on in the scene of Lucy with Susan's bow? In the screencaps at least two dead/injured/mysteriously asleep crew memebers are visible lying on the deck behind. So clearly we have a fight of some sort going on. But where and when? Not Dragon Eustace, surely? Maybe the sea serpent? Or perhaps at the Lone Islands the DT is boarded?

in the book, Aslan gives Eustace new clothes. so the diamonds and other things are gone even before he gets back to the others!

Do you think that he will still be wearing the clothes Aslan gave him when he arrives back in Cambridge? That would be interesting, but if it turns out like the last two movies, he will be wearing the same clothes he had when he entered Narnia. To tell you the truth though, I think you're probably right. I just can see the writers adding that in.

If they added in that Eustace would still have the diamonds in his pocket, it would further the whole idea of temptation.
