As decarus said, the notion that the Dark Island is the unfathomable fate which is threatening Narnia doesn't come from a synopsis (although there was one synopsis which did contain this detail) it mainly comes from three separate independent reports from different pre-release screenings of the super trailer (see all 3 here) which all stated significant details as to the Dark Island being the major threat in the movie (the synopsis report and the VFX report which also contain the same details only serve to back up that theory).

True i wouldn't freak out about it just yet (if indeed you think you would freak out about that) but i would readily prepare yourself to freak out about it, because its a very strong possibility...

And also, there's a storm brewing behind Aslan as he roars on the beach. From the way the trailer was presented, I got the impression that this was the "Dark Island." And that would make sense, I believe, if the dark island's danger has been made larger in the movie. Thoughts, anyone?

I was just thinking: when LWW first came out, it was around the same time that VotDT will be coming out! so, maybe we'll see lots of stuff in August the way we did with LWW..... ?

Perhaps Eustace is looking in this bell tower that everyone is talking about. What is the significance of this bell tower? I remember those statues that there were photos of. Does it have to do with those?

There are some dark clouds back there, but i don't know. It is an idea.

Yes, I was. But it wouldn't surprise me terribly to see that Aslan destroying the Dark Island has been replaced by the Pevensies or even Ramandu's Daughter doing so. Aslan's power and deity has been consistently downplayed the entire course of the franchise, including completely removing mention of the Emperor-Over-the-Sea.

Well they probably are going to have the kids destroy whatever needs to be destroyed because they have watered down Aslan's deity and power in the films. The only smallest hope is that they get the Eustace undragoning scene correct. I am sure there will be some horrendous dialogue though because they always like to make up dialogue during those important scenes instead of sticking with the book.

Personally, I don't think his power and deity were downplayed at all in LWW, and only partially in PC, but I can imagine you very well being right about someone besides Aslan destroying the Dark Island. (If it is RD or the Pevensies who do it, I will be very, very mad. )

In fact, I can't help but grimace at the line that Coriakin reportedly says (In the trailers shown at the conferences) that the key to defeating the darkness outside is the key to defeating the darkness within. I hope that isn't handled in the wrong way.

However, it sounds as if the VDT production is trying to get the key Aslan parts (such as the undragoning and the end scene) right, so I'm hoping they do.

Well, there was the minor detail of it being expressly stated in the movie that the Pevensies ended the winter, not Aslan.

I know we've been told the lines from the end about having another name are in the movie, but until we see the actual clip in a trailer or something, I still can't help but wonder if the finished line will be "I have many names".
