Sooo going back to the topic, I was really impressed on the effects especially Lucy's face morphing into Susan's, I was like, Whoa! Cool! :O
Yeah, that was by far the most impressive effect in the trailer. Amazingly seamless, even when you look at it frame by frame. I didn't even realize a transition has taken place until it cut away.
I've even see a few comments saying "wow, Lucy looks a lot like Susan." haha

Yes, now that she's growing up, you can see a resemblance.

I'd like to see photos of Lucy,Susan and older Lucy side by side for comparison. We know Georgie looked a lot more like Rachael a couple of years ago, but if anyone CAN post them I'd be pleased.
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.

Oh..well, I still think they look a bit alike

Here you go coracle, I hope it's what you wanted.
The Value of myth is that it takes all the things you know and restores to them the rich significance which has been hidden by the veil of familiarity. C.S. Lewis
All three do look alike enough that it's easily believable that they could all be sisters. I think Georgie actually looks a little more like Anna than Rachel though.
I agree Bookwyrm, they really do quite look alike. I wonder how they did that kind of effect in the trailer...
"Two sides of the same coin"
It's just a standard morphing effect. I've seen quite a bit of it lately between episodes of Warehouse 13 and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The trailer's take on it is one of the best I've seen, so hopefully that means good things for the other effects when they're finished.
Thanks, 7chronicles. I remember we did this with a photo of Georgie when her face was a bit thinner around shooting for PC, and we could see the similarity to Rachael.
I wonder if it's partly the makeup/presentation that deliberately has her looking a bit like Anna?
I also wonder how much they took all this into account when casting in 2004. Did they look at younger Anna photos to compare to Georgie?

@7chronicles: thanks for the pics.

I think it's also the makeup. I think they made Georgie look like Anna on purpose. I mean, she actually looked younger during VDT filming, younger even than her look during the 2008 PC premieres and award shows. And yet, off screen last summer and fall, Georgie looked older and a bit thinner in the face. Even now, she looks older [20? ] and thinner.

@Sheroo: great observations. I know we're here to discuss the trailer, not our opinions of it, but I really do want an opinion/analysis of the trailer from someone who’s seen raw footage [from February and/or May].
*wow* those are *georgous* pics of Georgie! =) She's so sweet and innocent looking
:music: risk it all cuz I'll catch you if you fall... if my heart was a house you'd be home :music:
I loved the trailer! Although, it really doesn't seem to have too terribly much of a plot, but what is there isn't that close to the book.
Anyway, I wanted to confirm one thing. Gael (alias MLG) makes it at least as far as the Dark Island. Proof? Look at the screencap at the Dark Island BEFORE the close up of Ed and the WW. You'll see her standing next to Lucy in the bottom left. So, I dunno if that means anything, but there you go!
I was actually surprised that Gael didn't make the trailer all that much. I thought she'd have a bigger role...
Pray for Skandar member! PM Benjamin to join!
I saw the film on Opening Day!
When all else fails, read the Instructions!
With LWW and PC, the first trailer was the definitive TRAILER. And the second was just a last minute reminder.
I don't think Fox is doing that here. This trailer is just "Hey. Narnia. December." The real TRAILER is yet to come.
People need to stop over-analysing and just accept the trailer for the fact that it's a TRAILER. Trailers are usually promotional, quick sneak-peeks at a movie. Personally, I believe that we should stop making such harsh judgements about the trailer and just wait until we see the movie in five months.
Also, it (like PC and LWW) will say during the opening credits "BASED ON the book by C.S.Lewis". Now that doesn't mean that it should be an exact adaptation or exactly like the book, but it should still keep the main concept, important plotpoints and ideas from the story and translate that to screen. The Narnia series just make it harder for the filmakers to do that because Lewis left so much to the imagination, so of course there are going to be tons of ways to interpret a story or character. Just because it's not how you would do it or it doesn't fit with your idea of something, that doesn't mean to say it's wrong!
Anywho, my impression of the trailer was very good, 10/10 all round!
Favourite scene: The Magician's Book or the very first scene.
Second favourite scene: The transition to Narnia
Favourite line: "So if there are no wars to fight, then why are we here?" - Edmund.
I will reject your reality and substitute it with my own, because eternity is an awfully long time to be wrong.
Proud supporter of The Chronicles of Narnia the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and all that is in it!
