I think most of it was edited in a gimmicky and misleading way at first merely to make more money from non-book readers and technically people who are not purists.
I'm not a huge purist, maybe about 30% in me, because I love for characters to stay in character, but if this is going to be some flip flop where the WW comes in every story and the elder Pevensie's come back to Narnia to fight some battle alongside their siblings, etc when they were already told that they can't come back, (which I doubt 98.9% will happen)
I will not support these films any longer as yes I hope the franchise will bomb for messing up these classics and the characters. I just gladly remake them in 20 years from now.

We do know that it *is* Aslan who 'undragon's' Eustace. The scriptwriters said so HURRAH! =)
:music: risk it all cuz I'll catch you if you fall... if my heart was a house you'd be home :music:
I think you make a good point Pepper. The undragoning scene is the most important. We know that aslan will do it. We know that they discussed the idea of grace at great lengths before making the film. We can only hope that they get the dialogue in that scene right.
There biggest problem is always dialogue about Aslan that just isn't quite right.

Whoa there! I think we're all so eager to see the movie and to analyze it and to discuss it and such, and seeeing that the trailer is all that we have at the present, we're acting like the movie has come out and it was the end of the world. May I suggest that we don't draw any major conclusions from the trailer? It's the first trailer, trying to draw the attentions of those who saw the first movies (with Peter, Susan, Edmund, Lucy, and the White Witch, rightfully so in both). Won't more trailers (1 or 2) be released before the movie is out? I think we should all sit back, read the books, and wait till the movie comes out to draw any conclusions about anything that we don't know for sure. And remember, even if you don't like the movie when it comes out in December, it doesn't change the book. Edmund will always be Ed, Lucy will always be Lu, Eustace will always be Eustace, etc. PLEASE, everyone, don't freak out. Getting worked up over the trailer will only make you upset about a movie we haven't seen yet.
I love the Narnia books don't get me wrong-but if the movies keep continuing down this path, I really hope the franchise dies.

It is more then the trailer that makes me feel like they need to stop while they are behind. I think we know there are going to be major changes which might be okay as long as the characters feel real and Aslan seems like God.

Let's just all hope we're entirely wrong and the movie is mind-blowing. There's not much we can do about it I suppose. The trailer may not have been great, but I don't believe we should drastically reject any idea that the movie might be good because the trailer sucked. Let's just hold on to what we have, and hope the next trailer will give us a little more of what we want.
And I agree with you 100%, Sheroo of Stormness Head.

They're not just beating a dead horse! They're digging up the bones of a dead horse, grinding them, making it into stew, and slapping "3D!" on it. "Please come, we want to make money!"
I actually laughed out loud when I read this and then I had to read it to my family because my mom wanted to know why I was laughing.
...I think we know there are going to be major changes which might be okay as long as the characters feel real and Aslan seems like God.
For me the characters are very important, if they are true to the books that will do a lot to counter the changes. Aslan definitely needs to seem like God.
From all that I have heard, it sounds like the dragon scene will be done right. I'm not too worried on that point because it sounds like the Walden guy (The name is escaping me right now) was very firm that that part had to be right.

I really think some people need to take some things a little less seriously, most of the scenes in the trailer are not in context, and so you cant really pass any kind of judgement until you see it all together. And I, for some reason feel like the scene with peter and susan is going to be one of those scenes where we were all kind of scared of what there doing with it, but when we actually see it, in the context that its in, we going to go oh that makes sense and like how they incorporated them in it. I am pretty positive the filmakers know what there doing, so we will just have to wait and see.
Oh by the way, I saw the trailer with eclispe yesterday, was not expecting it, but it was a nice surprise.
I don't think it is unreasonable to have a negative reaction after this trailer. I don't think it is fair or relevant to say it is an overreaction. Everyone sees things differently.
Besides why are we once again discussing how people are reacting instead of discussing the trailer.

Decarus is right about the topic drifting. Let's get this thread back on topic, please.
^Ditto. We joined NW because we love Narnia and won't allow any bad things happen to it. So... let's just accept what the trailer was and besides, it already was released like that, there's nothing we can do about it already.
Sooo going back to the topic, I was really impressed on the effects especially Lucy's face morphing into Susan's, I was like, Whoa! Cool! :O
"Two sides of the same coin"
I was going back through some of the info I have gathered in the clues and Evidence thread (boy, does it need an update. ). Anyway, I think I may have found at least one question the trailer answered. Quite a while back we had a report of a school dining hall being used and Lucy and Edmund talking by a bike outside. We were wondering what that scene could be for. I think the school and the dinning hall are in the scene where Ed is trying to enlist and the one where he says I'm a king. What do you think? There are pictures of the school at the Aslan's Country site linked above and here is the link for the screen caps.

I agree. It is the same building. I thought that when i saw the trailer for the first time. I wonder who the man and woman they speak to by the bikes are going to be.
Thanks for the links.
