Yes, Lucy has a bow in the book. While this side of her hasn't been shown very much in the movies, she is Queen Lucy the Valiant. While she doesn't fight in VDT (But there's no or very little fighting in VDT, so no one should be fighting), she fights in HHB with a bow.
According to Tony Nixon's facebook page, Peter and Susan do not return to Narnia. If I understand the statement correctly, this doesn't mean that they may not appear in a flashback or some such thing while the others are in Narnia. In fact, I wonder if the Pevensies' walk may not even be in the movie. Some opinions say that this particular trailer is only informing everyone that Narnia is back. Thus, it may not be such a great surprise for us to see them advertising familiar faces, so that moviegoers know that the older two Pevensies have not dropped off the face of the earth. This is my opinion about it, anyways.
I would have to agree with you on Aslan and Lilliandil's cliched lines, though.
I didn't think Aslan's and Lilliandil's lines were cheesy at all. I don't think most of those lines will be used anyways in the movie. We don't even know what this "fate" thing is yet, But in the trailer it didn't look to be anything bad at all. And the "You have returned for a reason" could indicate Lucy and Edmund. Not Susan and Peter as well as the backgrounds look completely different in both scenes at the end of the world and the walk. I'm not worried.

^I have to agree that the scenes at the end of the world and the four Pevensie's walking are completely different backgrounds. I'm beginning to think that Peter and Susan will not show up at the end.

I am thinking that Aslan's line when the four Pevensie's are shown - "Your adventure begins now" - might have nothing to do with that clip! I think it might be the same part when Lucy sees Aslan in the mirror:
"Aslan!"
"You have come far, but your journey lies beyond"
(maybe there's some other lines.....)
"Your adventure begins now."

^Ditto Libb. Maybe they just want to excite or suspense the audience/fans because of the Pevensies, and from what I can see it really worked. Seeing the 4 Pevensies suspensed and made me excited plus confused.
"Two sides of the same coin"
I don't know if I want to watch it glumPuddle. Might make me go away hating it and at the moment I'm happy with it for the most part.
I don't have a problem with Lucy using a bow. She has a different nature to Susan at least in the books. And in HHB she does actually use one. Though in theory there should be no need for her to use one, though I'm ok with them adding action scenes.
I personally think that that scene could just be for the trailer like 'I am Prince Caspian'. Either that or it's in a dream. Because I can't think of a scene where they would do that, not just one out of the book but even anything that would fit. It reminds me of the scene in PC where they walk to the How.

To be honest I always imagined Lucy to be a much better archer since Susan doesn't like battles or killing things. Her character arch with that in PC really bothered me, because how are they going to explain HHB, unless they have Susan change her mind and join into battle at last minute.

Susan is a good archer though. In the book she dinked an arrow off of a Telmarine soldiers helmet and she didn't miss that is what she meant to do. I never thought Susan using her bow was the big departure. The romance was the big departure. Also having the Pevensies enter the story early, while i think that was necessary and a good choice, probably caused the most changes in the story.
There are no clouds in the sky. There is only the open sun and the Lord watches.
@Kotarki: I liked the trailer and I want to see the movie! I also didn't think Georgie's acting was weak. Because I don't think you can really judge acting in a trailer. Still, I plan to watch the LWW and PC trailers later this week to compare.
I would have liked to see them focus on Eustace and Caspian a lot more. It seems like the White Witch got more screen time than they did.
Well, what about this?

I mentioned earlier in this thread that probably one intention of the teaser trailer was to make a connection with the earlier movies -- for movie fans. This is why you see Peter, Susan, and the White Witch. I think a later trailer will focus more on Eustace, Caspian, and Reepicheep. Let's hope so!
@Bookwyrm and Lady G: thanks for pointing out Lucy's use of a bow in the Narnia books. And thanks to GlimGlum in the Lucy/Georgie thread, we know Lucy uses a bow and arrows, more than once, in VDT!

Sounds like a win-win situation to me. If you're convinced the trailer is great, it should be easy enough for you to refute my arguments. But if you end up changing your mind, good. Why would you want to think something is good if it's actually bad (and vice versa)?
EDIT: I have edited and modified some things here... I apologize for any rude comments that I made. What I intended to be a well-written post turned into a rant that was just as bad as anything i was complaining about... Sorry
Alright People... I am rather dissappointed by everyone's reactions.
Everyone has so many complaints.
How long have we been waiting for this movie? And now that we get our first glimpse... all most people have to say is complaints. Would you rather the movie not be made at all!? I do note that there are qute a few more positive people, but they seem to be outweighed by the negativity.
I know, or at least I hope that everyone realizes that we are not the only people that the creators are making this movie for. They have to make the movie appeal to not only the fans, but also to those that are not hard core fans. They have to spark interest in those people that may have not ever read the books, nor would care to.
Here is some things that I think about the trailer: I was (and still am) excited about the movie after I saw the trailer. Yes the CG isn't smooth (you can't expcect it to be finished yet), Yes they put in battles, yes the White Witch is in it (Doesn't bother me), I won't comment on Ramandu's Daughter, Aslan looks awesome, the ship is spectacular, and while it isn't perfect, it is a fairly good first glimpse.
For my first comments: the battles, or action sequences, which will evidently be in it. I am really excited...The movie would be BORING without them. Yes i know that most of us fans would go see the movie with or without action... but think of it from the standpoint of a average movie-watcher, or someone that may not especially care either way (such as a parent of children who are fans). What is to draw them if not some sort of action? I know for a fact that My Sister and I would barely ever get our family to watch the movie without action. (Our dad prefers PC because it is much more fast paced and action packed... we almost NEVER watch LWW) Personally, I am really looking forward to that battle scenes. And I don't want mindless action, although it can be fun for other movies (G.I. Joe anyone?)
Next... the White Witch (or WW). I don't mind her being in it. It's cool. I'm interested in seeing how they fit her in. And again, it ties it in with the other two movies for those that have seen them, or at least heard of it.
Here is another thought:
Imagine that you are the director, producer, or the person at fox that decided they wanted to make this film. Now imagine that you make the film, you are in post production, and you realease the teaser trailer. Now, you get on the major Narnia fansites and discover that NO ONE likes it...
Gosh that has to make them feel good...
Actually, it would make me feel like saying: "good Riddence with the whole thing...I hope they never make another movie... I sure won't"
Thanks,

I know you mean well but please understand that people have different personalities and perspectives. Some people are optimists; some pessimists and some realists. Some analyse every detail of something and can enjoy it for what it is, others will analyse every detail of something and rant. We need to be mindful of this. Try sharing your thoughts with a more encouraging, understanding attitude. It could work wonders.
Also, I understand your point about focusing on the positives but when people release a product into the public, they must realise that there will be people who vehemently dislike it. That's the way it is. We could have a few less Puddleglums here sure, but criticism of the teaser trailer in and of itself isn't bad.

Warrior of Narnia, it doesn't have to technically be what they put in the trailer but it is how they presented it. It gave no story whatsoever. All it gave is look at how much Georgie and Skandar grew, look at this awesome moving picture, look great water effects, a cool dude with slow motion scroll, the WW is here temping Edmund, a few other cool shots and here's your favorite Pevensies that return.
No actual plotline and most movie goers will want to see that in a trailer. I do love a lot of the shots in this and don't get other people wrong on this. It just was not impressive with giving a storyline. Hopefully a newer trailer soon will give us that.
