I think it could be the lone islands as well. My only question is will the lone islands be first before the duffle's island or after.
There are no clouds in the sky. There is only the open sun and the Lord watches.
I wonder if the secret tree or the rotted tree is where Lilliandil first pops up. She was near a tree in the trailer and the background looked nothing like Ramandu's island.

OH, and I thought I'd say, everyone keeps saying how it's Lilliandil that makes Ed's sword glow blue and all. I'm just wondering (and I'm not trying to be rude or all)... but how is she connected to that? I'm *just* curious...
I watched both the narnia movies Saturday, and in the first one, when Ed smashed the Witch's wand, it made that blue 'glow' colour, and then also when the Witch put out the fire from the Pheonix, it was that *same* blue as was in Ed's sword. I've looked at the screencaps. And he *is* on the ship, and the dark background is that 'greeny-blackish' fog stuff... so, *what if* the sword glowing isn't connected to Lilliandil at all? But connected with the White Witch's *power*? I don't think that this is Ed's temptation it. But it *is* a nightmare. Ed himself said 'and I've helped her do it.' He's haunted by what he did. Maybe he's having a nightmare that he now *has* that power or that he's helping the White Witch 'do her dirty work' again? Maybe? Just curious...
And again, I'm not trying to be rude to *anyone*... I'm just wondering too =D
And about the CG stuff, I think that will look better too, because I was like 'whoa!' on some LotR trailers or something like that, but it was a *lot* better in the movie. Maybe because it's a trailer things aren't what they're supposed to look like yet. Because I can't imagine they'd let something look *that* CG... oh, and the minotaurs! I love how they look now. They don't look like teddy bears (I always had the Lucy impulse to 'hug' them in LWW and PC =) ROTFL! But now it's like 'WHOA! *recoils* I won't mess with *HIM*!!' Good work Apted!
Oh, and another neat aspect, Ed's growing up: he feels he just has to fight for his country, but he's still the same old Ed we all love... 'you're supposed to be helping with the groceries...' and dear ol' Lu growing up on us Still the same Lucy that's there to help her brothers out: even if it is to remind them they need to be helping out =)
He, he, and I think *anyone* would be insulted by 'squirt.' I'm a king! Of course you are... you're not begging for the world to fall down at your knees, but 'I'm a king and I want to fight for my land!' =D Can't wait to hear Eustace rant and rant about the British Consul! =D
:music: risk it all cuz I'll catch you if you fall... if my heart was a house you'd be home :music:
That can be a great possibility as to why Edmund's sword is glowing in the trailer Pepper Darcy! It could all be in Edmund's head and a nightmare he is still having for being a traitor when he first came to Narnia. It could hopefully lead to his talk with Eustace.

WOW, great catch! that's really a great and sort of encouraging idea. that would mean it's possible Aslan will save them, like in the book! Thanks, I'm feeling better about this shot now.
Part 1 & 2 of my trailer analysis:
part 3,4 and 5 are on the way!
I think this, right now, is going to come down to our faith in Doug Gresham. He is personally responsible for everything C. S. Lewis Ltd. puts it's name on, including this movie, and if he doesn't approve it doesn't happen.
I don't want to be a wet blanket or anything, but - remember that interview or whatever it was a while back when he said they were making changes he didn't think were necessary? And he went along with it, because otherwise there wouldn't have been a movie at all? Doug Gresham doesn't make these decisions alone. We know there's been stuff in the first two movies he disagreed with during production. Just saying...

Wow....its been two and a half years (I think) since I last posted on Nweb. Anyway, @Pepper Darcy, that has been my theory from the beginning. I really do think that Edmund's sword is glowing blue as a result of his nightmare on the Dark Island.
I waited up till 2 a.m. like a lot of people and was very disappointed with the trailer. It looked so disconnected and it really did not do a good job of giving anyone an idea of what the movie would be about. But then, teaser are suppose to just tease people and not really give them that much info on the actual movie. Still, even for a teaser, I thought the trailer was very poorly put together. It looked very much like they had taken all their finished shots and made a trailer out of them. That being said, there were some things I did like about the trailer. I really enjoyed the picture flooding the room and them swimming to the surface to find themselves in Narnia. That was very well done. The Dawn Treader herself looks beautiful, and the costumes and some of the sets are very well done. My favorite part of the trailer has to be when Reep is greeting Edmund and Lucy and you can see Eustace in the background lying on the deck and looking sick. Even though we hardly saw him in the movie, I am very much looking forward to Eustace. I'm also looking forward to Edmund (hopefully) having more of a role in this one than he did in PC. I'm also looking forward to a Caspian with a normal British accent.
The rest of the trailer I didn't like so much. I did not like that Edmund is repeating (or seems to be repeating) Peter's "I'm a king and everyone should listen to me" attitude. That doesn't suit him at all. I also don't really like the WW saying she can make Edmund a king because that line is getting OLD. But I doesn't bother me too much that she's in there because it seems like she is merely Edmund's nightmare and that makes sense. Sort of....anyway, I didn't like all the glowing things in the trailer, especially Ramandu's Daughter (or whatever they are calling her now). That scene is very interesting looking and it makes it look like the movie makers might have taken some great liberties in their adaptation. Her line about the "fate of Narnia" sounds like they are adding too much drama to the simple and noble quest of Caspian's to look for the lost Lord's. I didn't like the look of the set where the Duffers are, nor the fact that they seem to be having some sort of fight on the Lone Islands. (The whole point of that episode was that the Narnians were clever enough to rescue everyone without fighting, but I suppose that isn't exciting enough for a movie). I also didn't like the fact that they changed the wording of the beauty spell. (Ok perhaps that is a little too picky, but I love how it is worded in the book!) Oh and I did not like it that Reep was standing with all of them at the end of the trailer, and he hadn't sailed off in his little coracle over the wave. And why was the wave there at the beach???? And why was Caspian with all of them in the boat?
And I'm just plain confused as to why Peter and Susan are shown at the end and to what the heck they are all doing.......
But hopefully the next trailer will be better and it will shed a more positive light on their adaptation.
"Even a traitor may mend. I have known one that did."
Adamie, oh good! I'm glad I encouraged ya, I was getting worried too about some things, then I thought 'well, it's just a trailer... it's not the *movie* =) I so *seriously* hope that have that beautiful scene with Lucy/Aslan on the Dark Island: 'oh Aslan! Aslan! If you ever loved us help us now!'
And also, I'm pretty sure it is probably Aslan that will save them. In a MUCH earlier review, Apted or one of the people involved in the filming/script stuff, said that they did a lot with Lucy/Aslan... so that at least was/is hopeful!
rotfl, did anyone else have the urge to shout out 'Sting! Sting! It's STING!' when they saw Ed's sword? I thought 'oh my goodness! 'This is Sting, you've seen it before, haven't you, Gollum?' =) Then I thought 'they've got orcs in Narnia!' LOLOLOL! I thought that was kind of neat =) Also... I found it interesting someone else has an avatar of that screencap that says 'ORC!' on it =) A personal favourite. Anyone else think of Sting?
So far Apted's work is looking *positive* (yeah, I'm not a marshwiggle here at all, guys =) The trailer keeps making me look at our own Wardrobe wistfully :S *tears*
EDIT: opps! missed that DamselJill! Sorry! =) *blushes* Anyways, yes, I hope that's what they're doing, more of because I think it'd be so neat and *so* dramatic on Ed's part. To feel that horror again... *shudders* that's hard and dramatic, but if characters go through hard stuff and pull through, they have my pity and respect. Three cheers for Edmund!
I hope for more of Eustace in the next trailers. I want to hear his voice, more than just 'what's going on?' A great kid to choose though! =D

I forgot Lucy is carrying her sword though in the shot with Ramandu's daughter where she shoots up in the air. Maybe this is later on. It is all very confusing.

I know for a fact that scene you are talking about decarus takes place on the Lone Islands. lilliandil is standing in front of the Rotted Tree.

I am sorry, but we don't know anything for a fact. All we know is that in the photos of the group on the water in the boats from Spit Lucy is not wearing her sword and his white sleeves. In the photo of Ramandu's daughter turning into a ball of light and going into the air Lucy is wearing her sword and she seems to have the red sleeves in this one.
The boys are also wearing their jackets even though they were not in the boat, so maybe everyone is just wearing jackets in this scene. I have been leaning towards earlier in the film because Caspian has Peter's sword, but we really don't know for certain.
Because some of the islands are being put together, we really can't know anything for certain, especially since they wear the same clothes the entire trip. The only differences are with jacket and vest or without. Whether or not Lucy has a sword and who is carrying Rhindon.
There are no clouds in the sky. There is only the open sun and the Lord watches.
So, When we got footage of someone filming the "Battle of Beruna" Caspian wasn't wearing his armor and was on a horse at the bridge but in the movie he runs out with the rest of his army in full armor.
Plus it was nightime. I'm sure it got cold and Lucy is wearing that red coat and carrying her knife for safety now.

Well Lucy has her knife on i think in the pictures of the boats at the Spit, but she is wearing a short sword in the photo of Ramandu's daughter turning into a ball of light.
It has just seemed that she has only been wearing the shirt with the red sleeves and carrying her sword in later scenes, such as at the dark island and in the battle with the sea serpent.
This isn't proof that it is later either. I am just not sure that we can know for certain.
There are no clouds in the sky. There is only the open sun and the Lord watches.
Decaurus if you look closely on the map to the VDT video game it says Rotted Tree and behind it there is some old wind mill and if you look closely in the trailer there is a wind mill far behind Lilliandil. That shows her appearance and that scene is on the Lone Islands.
