Does anyone else find it humorous that people who are telling people not to panic, to be positive, etc. are getting upset themselves because others are upset?
I often start out by finding all the changes and negatives. (So it was a big step for me to start with the positives in my post. ). The intensity of my complaints is usually quite high, but it doesn't mean that I don't like the whole of what I am seeing. I like PC but that doesn't mean I don't get angry about certain parts. I talk about the parts I don't like more than what I do like. After watching PC for the first time, I was so mad at certain parts, I could barely say anything. My sister looked at me and said, "Do you like it?" and without missing a beat I answered "Of course, its Narnia."
I know we have plenty of reports that stress the positive but it is hard to believe in those when we see things that have been changed. No matter how much "negative" advertising I see. I am still going to see the movie. All though I see things I am worried about, I recognize enough stuff that I'm pretty sure I will end up liking the film overall. Does that mean I'm not going to complain? Of course not. I analyze, I compare and contrast, I complain. It's what I do.
Actually, RD looks better than I had expected.
I'd much rather set my expectations low and be pleasantly surprised than set them high and be disappointed.

I am one of the positive people and I'm not upset. Overall I find the pessimistic people humorous, though I do wish they would cheer up. It's like Puddleglum in SC. He's so gloomy it's hillarious Overall, the trailer will not make or break anyone's daily life. We will go on. It's good to laugh and it's good to let off steam if you need to. Whatever works.
We should probably steer back to the topic. I'm just as guilty for taking off on this rabbit trail. The wrath of the GMD mods will come down on me - you may never see me again. *weeps*
“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”
WHAT ABOUT TIRIAN'S VDT MOVIE REPORT?! You know the one I'm talking about - where Tirian stated that he really liked what they were doing with the upcoming film. This is the Trailer Discussion thread. Yes, I am aware of that and that the trailer itself isn't so hot. All of that I agree with and acknowledge. What is getting me riled up (if I may be that drastic) is the fact that people seem to me to be assuming that because the trailer is bad, that automatically makes the movie bad. Doe any past reports mean anything, now the the trailer has come out? Does the fact matter that one of our distinguished own has seen what the plot of the story is going to be and has applauded it? I say that we should not take this trailer to seriously and wait till we have more information.
I don't understand why Tirian liking what he saw is really relevant. I don't know him and we may not like the same things, so him liking it is not really a comfort to me. No offense Tirian.

Argh, I went to see Toy Story 3 today fully expectant on seeing the trailer, but I was sadly mistaken... On a lighter note, I did enjoy Toy Story!
And I also enjoyed the Trailer! Can't wait 'till December 10th, I tell ya. The Dufflepuds make me happy!

The trailer doesn't play in front of Toy Story?

decarus, the trailer is attached to Toy Story 3. Just not every copy of Toy Story. If you are planning on going to see it and the trailer, the best thing to do is call ahead and ask the theaters what showings will have the Dawn Treader trailer with it.
I just got back from seeing Toy Story 3, and the VDT trailer did play beforehand. That's strange that it didn't when you went, Pebbles!
This time I finally saw that at the end with the logo, the Dawn Treader is sailing on the water. I didn't notice that when I was watching it on youtube/facebook.

I love the Dufflepuds as well! I can't wait to see them in the movie and not just that little clip.

The Dufflepuds looked good visually but their jumping was all over the place and awkward. I suspect this is where they learn to move with their one leg - and it would be awkward. Still, it's a bit silly to put that moment into the trailer. Doesn't exactly do anything to endear anyone to the Dufflepuds.

Wouldn't they have had plenty of time to learn how to move on one leg while and before they went invisible?
But weren't they different creatures while they were invisible? I can't remember.

The Dufflepuds were a creature similar to a dwarf, then Coriakin made it so they only had one giant foot.
They thought they looked so ugly that they had the spell read to make them turn Invisible.
Then they got tired of being invisible so that's when they made Lucy go and read the spell to make them visable again. Anyway thats how I remeber it. Hope that helps

Just saw the trailer in 3D and it looked amazing, especially that shot of the Dawn Treader coming into the screen just after they go into the picture. It looked better i think, not just being big and in 3D, but right, not wrong looking so to speak.
