Arwen's dream dress sounds interesting for Ramda -- I like the pattern and shade of the gown -- but I really don't like the thought of Ramda wearing something as transparent as that. So what about the styling more of Arwen's bridge dress in FotR, only in a blue color? It's been described as "romantic."
This is the dress in the book I have that first sent me off looking for more Madame Grés designs—in fact, that's the book, page 480 and 481—but it looks like Google books didn't scan that first image too well. In the book it's stunning.
... Lewis said her arms were bare, so I'd love for her to have some drapey wing-like sleeves that are split at the outside of the arm at the shoulder. Bare arms and sleeves.
I really like this dress!! And I absolutely love your idea of the split sleeves. I think that they would look absolutely stunning. And I agree with most everyone that Ramda's dress should be a silver-blue. I never really had an image in my mind of what her actual dress would look like, but from reading people's posts, an idea is starting to come together in my head. Somehow I think she would look great in a silver-blue, flowing gown, and to top it all off, I can kind of see her with silver stars and "vines" in her hair (not really vines, but more like silver/organic material in her hair. I don't think something metallic would look very good, but silver and organic sounds perfect).

I've always imagined her in something with a bodice like this...
I love the draped, elegant, simple look.

Something like this only not necessarily metallic? Or more like a ribbon woven through her hair?
Personally, sometimes I like the idea of hair jewelery, and sometimes I prefer the idea of simplicity... as illustrated by Howard Pyle in this picture.
That is a beautiful dress, PR. I like the subtle shine in the fabric.

On page 2, I mentioned Arwen's bridge dress. I didn't put in a link, so here's one:

Just another dress to consider.
That is exactly how I pictured RD dres!!!!!! Maybe a different neckline and a more shimmering blue!
I saw the movie....and was disappointed
I like those dresses ANS. Personally I have fallen in quite the Pride and Prejudice mood. The dresses worn to the Netherfield ball wolud be great in blue

Valiant_Lucy posted an Alberta Ferretti dress in the Spare Oom Fashion thread and I thought, if it were blue, it might suit Ramandu's daughter.
I'm not sure about the shade I chose, but y'all get the idea.

Oooo I love that dress, Meltintalle! Especially the shoes I love the beads!

I really think the dress needs to be flowing and of a very light blue with silver. I think the sleeves need to cover the arms and possibly go past the hands for a fairy/magic type feel. I have always seen her as a fairy type person so I kind of hope it's a fairy type dress.

I think I'd like to see her in a very simple dress, simple and elegant. Like Princess Leia wears in the original trilogy. Something long and straight with vertical lines, no sleeves, and of course blue... and in a fabric that moves beautifully, like Galadriel's dress when she walks down the stairs to the Mirror of Galadriel.

the4signs[repeat], that is the coolest username I've seen in forever!
Meltintalle, that outfit is stunning! The funny thing is I think the part I like best is the shoes. We haven't discussed RD's shoes much, have we?
A_Narnian_Ship, I love the sleeves! I don't see sleeves like that much in movies anymore, I'd like to see some included in VDT.
PrincessRosario, I do think that bodice would fit too. Very free and Grecian.

A_Narnian_Ship, that Arwen dress is exactly what I visioned for Ramandu's daughter as well. It's gorgeous!

You know, I always imagined Ramandu and his daughter as being barefoot. Does it say that in the book? Or maybe R'sD would wear sandals with super thin straps that glitter a little bit.
I'm so glad you like my sign in name, Lucy P!!! My brother told me it was stupid.
But now both you and Pattertwigs Pal have told me that you like it!
I feel so much better!

the4signs[repeat] brace yourself for another fan because your screen name does rock. Also i do remember reading that Ramandu and his daughter are barefoot and RD is barefoot in the illustration with Caspian.
Although I really hope they will wear sandals or slippers maybe.
