"Tollers, there is too little of what we really like in stories. I am afraid we shall have to try and write some ourselves." - C.S. Lewis
My first reaction: a three-month delay is worth the trade-off for a full theatrical release! No need to rush those special effects, given production was delayed 6 weeks back in July.

I think it signals a lot of confidence in the film, gets it out of what is a very heavy-hitting fall release schedule that it could potentially get lost in. Although, it does mean it will push it out of the 2026 Oscar season into 2027 which surprises me a little because I thought they were sort of going the Oscar-bait route a bit but time will tell.
This is interesting. I'm certainly prepared to wait a little longer for this as a cinema spectacle and it also widens the options for where I can see it. I am feeling quite excited to see it on the big screen. How I will feel afterwards, though – well, we shall see 😆 .
Every time I read or hear of Greta Gerwig's love and appreciation for Narnia, it makes me think - wow she could really make something really special out of this movie, something very fitting for the name "Narnia". And then I keep remembering the rumour... enough said on that topic in this thread - because I'm hoping that delays will work in this film's favour, making it the best possible Narnia film that it could be. Hopefully it allow time for making the best possible version of the film in every regard, CGI effects, soundtrack, etc., and even making sure it's not too controversial, but something Lewis and Narnia fans can embrace, and also be something that introduces audiences well to the world of Narnia and the books.
In that context - whilst I was looking forward to my patience being relieved in November, I am willing and indeed hopeful about a longer wait to February bring about a better production than we would have got in November.
*~JESUS is my REASON!~*
It's a little annoying to have to wait longer but I'm relieved it'll be showing in regular theaters. I know it was filmed with the intention of being shown in IMAX and it'll probably look better there but there aren't any IMAX theaters in my area, so I was thinking I'd either have to take an expensive plane ride to see a movie I might not like or have to wait for the movie to come out on streaming.
For better or worse-for who knows what may unfold from a chrysalis?-hope was left behind.

On the plus side, I'm glad it's not competing with other movies coming out around this time and it has its own time slot. However, I'm not sure this is a better time overall as the Holiday season always does very well movie-wise.... I dunno. Do February movies do well? I haven't looked. And on the other hand, the creation of Narnia makes me think of springtime, so February is PERFECT (northern hemisphere anyways....).
The one personal downside is that I'm usually crushed for time in February, so hopefully I can squeeze in a trip to the theater when it comes out. I'll probably still splurge and see it in IMAX.
I think it's smart to no longer be competing with Harry Potter especially! And in the big scheme of things 3 months isn't very long at all.

There is now a Wikipedia entry for the filming of The Magician's Nephew, in which it says that it will be released on Netflix on April 2nd. Production wrapped by January 31st.
