You should also try Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, its a prequel to FFVII and gives a bit of background info on some of the characters, most notably Aerith.

The worlds left in its wake
Well I beat Heart of the Swarm's campaign yesterday. To be honest, it was about the most 'meh' storyline I've ever played of Blizzards. I'm wondering if their peak in the video game world has past. I guess we'll find out once they release part 3 of the Starcraft II expansions (probably in another three years ).
But the good news is, I feel like I actually understand how to play the Zerg now, which I was never good at. So I'll have to fire up some custom maps to see how I do. I may also go back and play the old Wings of Liberty campaign again to brush up on my Terrean and Protoss skills as well.
I haven't been here in a while. I am currently playing through Final Fantasy: Chrystal Chronicles (for the GameCube and first one in that series)...Actually, I just finished it. Good game. I expect to go through Chrystal Bearers next.
Perhaps my favorite RPG right now is Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii. I think it stands out above the Final Fantasy series for story, script, gameplay, and music. And that's coming from an FF fan.
I don't want to sound discouraging, but I played Crystal Bearers a while ago and was not very pleased. I haven't played the original Crystal Chronicles, instead I played the DS games and then I played Crystal Bearers on the Wii. I was very dissapointed. The world is interesting and the story is actually good , but the rest of the game was flawed.
The combat is very imprecise, because you cannot directly attack. You have this telikenetic powers that allow you to lift things in the enviroment but its vey hard to throw them accurately to the opponents. Besides that, the game has not a good transportation system, there is a train station that allows you to travel from certain parts to other, but its awfully confusing! I sometimes got lost trying to find which train to ride. Furthermore, the game has no map, so you will find yourself wandering trying to find the right path to go and sometimes I find myself lost without finding the right poace to go. It doesnt help that you have to backgrack to certain areas in the overworld, and because its so huge... well you will find yourself trying to find the right way to reach the location. You can use Chocobos to travel, but once you put your feet on the ground they run away to ther owners (you rent them), so if you want to use them again you have to go back to the rentin spot. *sigh* Its a shale, this was a very good concept for a game, but it seems they dind't polish it as they should. (And one thing that really annoys me is that when sorrounded by NPCs, sometimes they will bump into you even if you don't move at all! And they go flying like if they were made of rubber.)
It has its moments, but it could have been better. Although tet are some fun sidequests and there are moments that are indeed genuinely fun. But hey, if you want to give it a try go ahead. At the very least the story is decent.
"Through vigilance and strength we create peace."
I just want to be hidden in the shadows... this silence; this cold.
FK, it amazes me you haven't played StarCraft 1 yet. You'd understand how truly virulent and horrible the Zerg are if you see just how much hijinks and chaos they create in just a short amount of time. *sigh* I almost want to buy it for ya, it's certainly easy to find! Then we can play multiplayer!

Many of the old hands around here will know that I am a fan of FPS games from way back to the original Wolfenstein 3D (boy, did I date myself there!). They'll also know I've always been a huge fan of the Half Life series of games. HL1, originally released in 98', is very dated looking and, while still a solid game, this antiquated look prevents anyone new to the HL universe from wanting to play it. A number of years ago a group of independent programmers decided to rebuild the game using Valve's Source engine, which is rather fitting since it's the engine used for HL's sequel, Half Life 2 (and its subsequent 2 episodes). The game is now beautiful, atmospheric, and thoroughly excellent! Rarely do I feel the need to evangelize a video game anymore, but for goodness sake, if you're a fan of the Half Life games, Portal 1 & 2, or FPS's in general, please go visit Black Mesa Source's website. The download is free and requires only that you have Steam installed on your PC. Since I can recall only 2-3 others that might have even heard of the HL series, this post is largely directed at you. The game is beautiful and wholly faithful to the original, just amped up to almost modern levels of detail and physics. It's getting rave reviews all around, and for good reason!
Ok, heading back to play some more now.

Where do I start! I have been a very busy gamer!
Assassin's Creed 3
I loved AC3, great game! I really liked how they made Connor his own character and that he stood apart from Ezio and Altair giving each of the three characters unique personalities and not just coping and pasting each game.
A great surprise for me was Haytham Kenway! He is one of my favorite characters now! It was nice to see make an appearance in the game, and I loved the modern
And for those who may not have heard Assassins Creed 4: Black Flags was announced a few months ago!
I won't go into to many details about the new assassin Edward , because I may spoil some of AC3.
Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag
Playstation All-Star Battle Royal
I also played Playstation All-Star Battle Royal.
Its sort of like Mario Bros. but with all the Playstation Characters against each other instead, very fun game, I love playing it on my Vita. I of course played as Nathan Drake.
Bioshock: Infinite
Words won't even begin to explain Bioshock: infinite if you haven't played it yet!
It was mind blowing! Seriously amazing story telling!!!!!!
I can't say anything without spoiling the game so I will just say I loved it!
Its the second first person shooter I ever bought.
Troy Baker was awesome as Booker Dewitt! Troy Baker is also Voice/Mo-capping Joel for The Last of Us!
Ratchet and Clank Collection
I'm currently borrowing The Ratchet and Clank Collection from my cousin, I always wanted to play them all the way through, and he was kind enough to let me borrow them. He grew up on them like I did Crash Bandicoot.
Sly 4
After Ratchet my Cousin is letting me borrow Sly 4!
I can't wait! I love the first three and I have heard nothing but good things about this one!
The Last of Us
And of course how could I post without mentioning The Last of Us!!!!!!!
The game is due out in less then two months(June 14th)!!!!
I can't even begin to explain how excited I am to play this game! Naughty Dog is the best!!!!

The Last of Us looks really good, I'm sad that it's not a 360 title. I'm also glad you liked Bioshock: Infinite. I think it's a really cool game, although I tend to like the setting and characters of the original the best. The steampunk aspects of the game were wonderful, although the ending to me was a bit of a let down, but to be fair most game endings kind of stink anymore. I'm working on completing some achievements at the moment (that's trophies for you ). The one that requires you to kill a Handyman by only shooting its heart had me near apoplexy. I'm serious! It took me close to 30 attempts and I'm still perplexed at how I managed to pull it off, but 50G is 50G. .

I use to love rachet and clank when i was younger. I haven't played in recent years. how is the series still going 7?
Naturally i was excited about the announcement of a link to the past 2 for later this year.

PS3 is only $250 now But seriously if you really wanted to play The Last of Us, or Uncharted I have a feeling the PS3 price will drop even lower after the PS4 is released later this year. The games are well worth it in my opinion.

Maybe I'm easy to please. Out of curiosity what was it about the ending that you didn't care for?

Oh I hated that Trophy! Until I managed to get the Handyman stuck on the roof and I was able to aim without him moving. Did you enable the floating combat text? I found having it on was helpful to know whether or not I failed instead of trying to guess.
I think we have the same mindset when it comes to Achievements/Trophies. I have been working hard on getting my entire game collection 100% complete. It's hard work! To give you an idea of what I mean here is my list of games I've finished/have to finish, if your interested in how the Trophy thing works:

Did you get the Achievement for 1999 mode yet?
I use to love rachet and clank when i was younger. I haven't played in recent years. how is the series still going 7?
I'm really enjoying the first three, my Cousins tell me that "Crack in Time" is the best one, I'll let you know how that one is once I'm finished if your interested.
My cousins tell me the past few Ratchet and Clanks after "Crack in Time" have not been as faithful to the franchise as those before them.
I personally think it's because they were not developed by Insomniac.

I use to play the ones that were avliable on play station 2 they were rather fun from what I remember but that was over 8 years ago.
Re: Bioshock: Infinite's ending....
I don't have the time to work on Achievements as much as I'd like. 1999 mode is going to be *VERY* time consuming, and I'm still working through on Normal difficulty so I can get the achievement for that. I'm also eagerly awaiting the release of the DLC's!
And my, my, you have been *busy* on trophies, haven't you? I've only completed 4 games worth, but I've got a kid.
Here's my achievement list thus far....

SpoilerI didn't like that he died. The multiple Earths story was great, but the ending.....gah! I do like that there was a short spot in Rapture too.
By the way did you notice the

LOL, To be fair me and my sister work on all our games together. It really makes things a lot easier and faster, especially if you get stuck on one of the trophies and you feel like you want to throw the controller, then we will pass it off to each other until we get it.

Ah well....I have completed Bioshock, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and Dead Space. I'm pretty close to polishing off Mass Effect, and I only need my brother to borrow me his copy again so I can do so.

There is going to be a rachet and clank movie apparently not sure how that will go but that's an interesting piece of information.
So, I have a question for you all. We have a PS2 and are thinking about trying out some more games, but most that we're interested in are for PS3, so we are considering upgrading. But I was wondering, are PS2 games compatible on the PS3?
