I'm really excited about the Wii U. Can't wait until it's released! Is there anybody else who is also excited about it?
I am a massive Nintendo fan and I will very likely get the Wii U at some point. But if it releases like the Wii did (a couple a store at a time and standing in a long line at midnight) then I'll probably wait for a while.
I haven't been paying any attention to the E3 stuff this year, though I did see that some sort of new trailer for the next Halo game is out. I'm kind of curious about that one, though very tentative since it changed hands.
Did Blizzard release anything interesting or was it all Diablo 3? (Which I don't care about.)
I'm excited, but I admit I'd be more excited if they had announced more games for it, such as a new Zelda
. That Nintendo Land is looking intriguing though. Also LEGO City: Undercover looks interesting, since I'm a Lego fan. I lol'd at the Mario reference at the end of the trailer.

I'm a LEGO fan, too! Did you know that Nintendo is publishing LEGO City: Undercover?
Also, according to this:

One of the attractions in Nintendo Land is a Zelda one, so at least you will have a Zelda mini-game near the Wii U's release.

I'm a big Nintendo fan, too! The consoles our family has are: Wii, DS, DSi, 3DS, GBA SP (Game Boy Advance SP). So really, our family only has Nintendo consoles. We also play games on PC, of course. That probably has something to do with my excitement for the Wii U, but it's also because it has some cool-looking features.

Diablo III is just...late. I mean Diablo II was an excellent game, but it's a PC only title and things have changed a great deal in the video game landscape since then. As far as video games go PC is gonna be the best platform purely for control superiority and graphics capabilities, but there's so many bells and whistles with the consoles now that PC is just going down the tubes. I love Blizzard and I think it's about time they released a new Diablo game, but seriously, it's been well over a decade since the last Diablo game! They really should have released this a lot sooner. You listening, Gabe Newell? I don't want to play HL2: Episode 3 when I'm 50!

Yeah, I was hoping for news on the next Starcraft expansion. Isn't it supposed to be coming out sometime in the near-ish future (relatively of course, we are talking about Blizzard).

Very true, looks interesting. Another mini-game in Nintendo Land appeared to be taken from F-Zero, a series that I really would like Nintendo to bring back.... F-Zero GX on the Gamecube was one of my favorite games, as well as GP Legends on the GBA. *searches for Captain Falcon emoticon *

AROOOOOOO!!!
Started playing Lotro a few weeks ago, I'm enjoying it too surprisingly since it is an RPMMO. I love games with different regions you can travel too and Lotro has plenty of that... it satisfies my inner explorer

Started it recently myself, and I would definitely say that it's even more fun when played cooperatively . But it's sort of sad that I've gotten to know the layout of Middle-Earth better than most of the towns in my vicinity...

Speaking of Middle Earth, I was hoping someone could help me a bit? I'm having alot of trouble with The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. It's a really great game, I'm enjoying it alot. But boy is it hard!
Right now I'm stuck on the "Minas Tirith - Top of the Wall" (or something like that) level...I've played it tons of times, died tons of times, and I just can't seem to do everything in time. In co-op. On "easy". Yeah...it stinks.
I figured out that you have to kick the ladders before the Orcs climb up, but then you have to shoot the big towers the cave trolls are pushing (towards Minas Tirith) with the catapults on the tops on the castle walls (when the little dots turn blue). So I managed to hit one, but then when the other tower (on the right) started coming towards me, there was no catapult on the right castle tower to shoot! So I started using my arrows, but it wasn't working. So then I die. So...any tips on that would be most appreciated.
Also, is there a Fellowship of the Ring game? I've noticed that The Two Towers game has things from FOTR in it, such as Boromir and Amon Hen and others like that.
Like I said: it's a good game. A really good game. No complaints in that aspect. And I almost enjoy that it's been taking me so long, that way it'll be longer till it's over. But it can be very very - hard. I spent almost 3+ hrs on the "Perennol Field" level trying to find out how to killl the elefant. (I couldn't see the ramp to get down off the hillside with the catapults and cross the field to the other hill side. )

I LOVE, LOVE The Return of the King Game!!!!
Brings back good, good memories of playing it before Return of the King came out!

Ok I remember that giving us a little trouble when we first played it.
What me and my sister always do is this:
-If I recall correctly you should be able to be Gandalf, and I think Pippin is your only other choice. If you have the option have player two be Legolas instead of Pippin.
-Ok so the key is to constantly be moving patrolling the whole map from one side of the map to the other. Don't wait for the red (are they red? I haven't played it for over a year) dot's (towers/ladders) just keep going from area to area and if there is a ladder or tower get rid of them and go straight to the next area. Just consentrate on ladders and towers. Have player two focus on killing orcs when you are taking care of the towers and ladders.
-There should be four different area's with ladders: I'll call them (A) This will be the really dark area (in the back?) (B) This should be the area you first start off at.
(C) This should be the area with two ladders. (D) Will be the farthest area with the most ladders or towers.
So what you want to do is continually move starting from point A all the way to point D and check for any ladders, and kill the occasional orc. Don't spend to much time trying to kill all the orcs, it will only slow you down and then you will get over run by the towers.
When the towers come use Gandalf's lightning balls (or you can call them arrows).
Hold down the button to get the highest charge before you release it.
If Gandalf's arrow's are upgraded higher then you should not have to worry about using the catapults to take out the towers, his arrows should be strong enough to take them out.
If you have any more questions please let me know, I'm not always that great at explaining things. Or if that does not work, I will try to explain it better.
Also, is there a Fellowship of the Ring game? I've noticed that The Two Towers game has things from FOTR in it, such as Boromir and Amon Hen and others like that.
Yes and no. The only Fellowship of the Ring game that I know about is not based on the movies, this is what the cover looks like:
If you want a Fellowship of the Ring based off the movie, get The Two Towers game, it's basically both the Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers in one.

LOL I had the same problem when I first played that level, couldn't see the hillside!
I'm glad your enjoying the game, it's one of my favorites!
If you ever need help, or want to talk about any other LOTR game you can always talk to me! I Love all the Lord of the Rings games!

Thank you so much 7chronicles! I'll try that really soon & I'll let you know how it works out!
By the way, I can't be Pippin. So far we can be Aragorn, LegoLas, Gimili, and we just now got Gandalf. Sam and Frodo are locked...but we have 3 spots for secret characters.
Weird...
(And "yes"...they're little red dots. )

Hm...interesting. Was it any good? How about that old "Hobbit" game? Obviously it's not based off of the film(s), but did you like it?

LOL, I forget which characters were given at what time during the game.
Then if you can definitely have player 2 be Legolas.
And try too upgrade his arrows as well.
(And "yes"...they're little red dots.
)
At least I remembered that.

As far as the Fellowship of the Ring game goes, I think it is the only LOTR game I don't own. But I heard that it wasn't that great.
And if you mean this Hobbit game:
Then I Love it! It is base loosely on The Hobbit book, but it is close enough that I still enjoyed it. Just think of it as a playable cartoon of The Hobbit.
By the way, for the sake of it, what are you playing Return of the King on? PS2, PC or something else. Just curious.

I've wanted to get that Hobbit game for a long time. I've heard good things about it. As I believe I said a few pages back, my Wii is out of commission, probably for good, but I still have my Gamecube. The Hobbit was also released for GC, no?
And while we're on the LOTR subject, LEGO LOTR is looking very interesting...

Well,7chronicles...we beat the level! It only took 2 or 3 tries; which was really nice. We beat the next level too, the one where you're defending all the 200 women in the Minas Tirith courtyard? That was pretty funny, I kept calling all the women "Mother Teresa's" because of their costumes and head pieces.
As far as the Fellowship of the Ring game goes, I think it is the only LOTR game I don't own. But I heard that it wasn't that great.
O, well, that's a bummer.
And if you mean this Hobbit game...
I think that's the game I meant, I remember seeing a GameCube game called the Hobbit, but the cover may have looked different.
AstroWolfD...that Lego LOTR clip looks great! It's very funny that they use the actual voices in the clips, and yet they still do the goofy LEGO things.

Edit: Finished ROTK! Have to say that was a real good game, really, recommend it to anyone. I loved all the extra videos at the end, that was neat that they "Congratulated" you for beating it.

@AslansChild: I'm so glad you liked the game!
Me and my sister plan on re-playing all of our Lord of the Rings games in November, hopefully before The Hobbit game is released! *really wishes they would officially announce the game, with cover art*
Me and my sister have been playing through the Assassin's Creed games, Our cousin loaned them to us and we hope to finish them all before Assassin's Creed 3 comes out in October. I had watched my cousin play Assassin's Creed 2 before and played parts of it myself, but its nice to actually play it from beginning to end.

To once again continue the LOTR subject, I picked up Battle for Middle Earth I and II today (for practically no cost ). Has anyone here played either of them, and if so, are they any good?
