Thanks for the game description, 7! It sounds great, although as I said I won't be able to play it because I don't have a PS3. :(

No problem! :)
I wish you (or somebody on this fourm) had a PS3 , maybe then someone would acually know what I was talking about half the time. ;)) ;)

The graphics in this game are just beautiful!!!!

I'm really looking forward to E3. It's only a few more days! Who else is waiting to see more announcements on the Wii U?

Speaking of Valve, does anyone else play Team Fortress 2? I've been mildly obsessed the last few weeks, mainly playing Spy and Pyro.

I play it on occasion. I was going to say that you do have the...'taint' of Spy on you. Filthy spies! ;)) My favorite is the Engineer, maker of those wonderful turrets you Spies like to blow up. On occasion I'll play the Soldier as well.

It's so much fun to run by and destroy everything the Engineer has spent so much time building. But about a week or so ago a Backburner dropped for my Pyro and I've been playing that exclusively. It's awesome, you can just about one shot someone from behind with a Backburner if you get a good string of crits. :D

The Pyro is a lot of fun, I must admit. The only other class I play any appreciable amount of is the Heavy. I love just marching along slowly and mowing down scores of enemies at a time...of course they're kind of worthless at anything greater than point blank range, but still ;))

For anyone wanting to know about this awesome game Booky and I are yacking about here's the super awesome trailer they released for it a couple of years back. The "Incredibles" style graphics adds an undeniable charm to the game, says me. ;))

Not a huge fan of the Heavy, but it is a fun class to play when you've got a Medic. Then you can pretty much just turn everyone to hamburger meat, especially on a Payload map where you can get constant ammo resupply from the bomb cart.

Yes, the goofy cartoonish style of the graphics and the overall tongue-in-cheek silliness of the game is what makes it such an awesome game. Incidentally, out of all the maps I've played, I hate that map in that trailer the most. Always seems to end up with everyone playing Engineer and Sniper and camping everything.

The Last of Us sounds similar in concept to Stephen King's excellent magnum opus "The Stand". The graphics look great, hopefully the game-play matches. Valve used to release their games reasonably promptly (barring Team Fortress 2 and Half Life 2 part 3). I played Half-Life and it's expansions several years ago and part 3's still not out?! Crazy!

I've played a bit of Team Fortress 2 but I'm a huge newb. Now that I live in the country, I have even less of a chance to play (my internet connection is rather slow).

Indeed, HL2:E3 has been how many years in the making now? Five? Six? And the irony is the episodes were all supposed to be released originally within 6 months of the previous one. 8-|

I've absolutely loved the Half Life games since they first came out and this delay is killing all of the fans. And HL2:E3 is quickly becoming vaporware, with no sign from Newell or anyone else at Valve that it's coming out anytime soon. And when are they going to bring back Adrian Shepherd from HL: Opposing Force? He's presumably still sitting off in stasis somewhere with the G-Man keeping him under lock and key. What a great story arc that could provide if they let him loose again. ;))

So E3 is only... what, five days away? Came quick this year! As far as console gaming is concerned, Nintendo is really my only interest. I'm looking forward to seeing more details on the WiiU (seriously hope they give it a new name :| ), and more specifically, the upcoming Legend of Zelda title. As well as the one for 3DS (which I think is probably going to be Majora's Mask 3D, but who knows? :-?? ).

Speaking of Zelda games, I recently was able to acquire a copy of Wind Waker! Thing is, my Wii has been busted for months now... I don't know what the problem is. First it wouldn't turn on and was stuck on the red light, then after I got a new power supply, the light turned green, but the Wii wouldn't even make noises. It's like it's just dead. So while I continue to try to get it fixed, I bought a cheap used Gamecube to use in the interim. Talk about a blast from the past! (*)

Sorry to get you guys off track here, but I have a teeny question:

Anyone play the new 007 GoldeEye game? I was wondering if the material was appropriate. Normally, Bond games have something in it...but the original GoldenEye didn't, nothing that I can remember anyway. But then again, that was on the archaic Nintendo 64, and the people were just big walking cubes. :p

So, any reviews or comments would be helpful.

Also, is it available for PC? :-

Looks like we are both looking forward to the same thing! (Well, the Wii U part that is, I'm not looking forward to a new Zelda game. Also, I don't want the name of the Wii U to be changed.)

I own it on the 360. In lieu of Pierce Brosnan from the original Goldeneye movie and game this one has Daniel Craig, the "new" Bond. If you're looking for a shot by shot remake of the original you're going to be sorely disappointed. The game very loosely follows the plot from the original game (which in itself was a pretty loose adaptation of the movie), so you'll see occasionally familiar scenes; the dive off of the side of the dam in Russia, Bond hanging upside down in the bathroom stall as he punches the Soviet soldier unconscious, the armored train, etc. This is largely where the similarities end and this is pretty much a whole new game from thereon in. Weapons selection is mediocre...truth be known one weapon feels much the same as the rest. Gone are the RCP-90 machine gun and Klobb machine pistols, and they've replaced them with what looks to be almost real world equivalents. Bond's pistol feels underpowered, although the Colt .45 equivalent pistol is like a jackhammer. The player basically follows in the footsteps of the first game's plot but there's lots of extra stuff thrown in. It's not a bad game, it's just kind of mediocre. I didn't get a chance to play multiplayer, but my understanding is that a lot of the more popular options are no longer there, like equipping the Moonraker Laser, or the additional unlockable characters, like Jaws and Oddjob. I can't confirm this of course, but that's what I've read and heard.

Again, not a bad game, but not really great either...just kinda ho-hum. It could have been so much more though.

Actually, I do play Zelda games, just not the newer ones (especially not the T rated ones, I'm not allowed to play any T rated games. Also, I'm only allowed to play certain E10 games). One of my brothers has Four swords anniversary edition, and my Mom has the original on virtual console.

Well, Twilight Princess is the only T rated Zelda game I know of. And it's kind of a borderline call on the TP rating in my opinion. I think it was just rated that because it's a good bit scarier than it's predecessors. It's pretty much the only T rated game I play just to let you know. :) But Four Swords is very good. I have that one as well.

@Ilovefauns I've been pronouncing it Gee-ra-heem, but of course it's just a guess, seeing how no one ever speaks (except in text obviously :p ) in Zelda games, and Link never really seems to talk period :p . I think that sort of adds to the charm of the games.
