On the subject of Call of Duty, I started watching my husband play through Modern Warfare 2, and that is the first game I've encountered that was so violent, I had to leave.
Definitely not my cup of tea.
The newer CoD games are definitely not for everyone. I really like watching my brother play, however my older sister would never do that. Maybe it's the Army Brat in me.

I like MW, MW2, Black Ops, and MW3.
My brother doesn't have Black Ops or MW3 yet. He almost bought MW3 a couple months ago, but he decided he need to save his money for school. I wish he had, but he did make the right decision.
How good is Black Ops?
Has anyone seen the trailer for Ghost Recon Future Soldier? It looks awesome.

Black Ops is one of the best CoD games out there.
The Ghost Recon Future Soldier trailer is wicked awesome! My friend had one of the games, but his 2 year old nephew destroyed it.

Do you know what kind of co-op Black Ops has?
My brother had a friend over today, they played Splinter Cell: Conviction! It's so not fair, I have been wanting to play it again, but my brother hasn't wanted to it. Maybe now he will want to.

Easier isn't the right word. The two of us (him playing and me being the other puzzle solver) worked through the game on first player first. We have actually done like the first five levels of two player, and it is fun. I would say they'd be equally difficult except the anti-fps in me can't aim the Portal gun very well.
LOL I hear you, I can't stand fps! That's actually one of the reasons we didn't buy it for our PS3.
My sister wants to get it for her Mac (not sure if you can get it on Mac).
Speaking of fps games. Me and my sister were discussing fps and were wondering why in every fps game you only see your hands and gun.
Wouldnt it be better if they made it the way you actually see? If the movement was smoother it would seem more like you turning your neck, you could see more on your left and right and see more then just your hands. Not sure if I'm even wording this right or if it makes any sense.

Because then it wouldn't be an FPS anymore. It then becomes a Third Person Shooter, sorta like Dead Space or even Tomb Raider to a degree. You and I view the world in first person and all we see are our arms and legs and hands (and in my case my large nose
), so that's why that's all you can see in an FPS.
I've been crawling through Fallout: New Vegas and trying to unlock as many achievments as I can. Right now I'm playing in Hardcore mode, which makes the game a whole lot more tricky. I have to eat, drink water, and sleep on a regular schedule or else my characters suffers bad side effects. If I go without for too long my character can die even. It's definitely a challenge! On the other hand my brother Andrew and a whole lot of other people are really excited about the upcoming release of Mass Effect 3. I'm kinda curious how they'll finish the story off too.

I got my games out of our storage trailer today and will be setting them up this afternoon. I'm currently playing FFIV on my DS and I think now would be a good time for an FF run. I have FF IV-X, X-2 and XII. Only FF IV-VI are in the 30 hours of game time range (the rest are 60-100+ hours). And with my schedule as it is right now, I pretty much only have time for 1 to 1 1/2 hours of playing time in the late evenings before going to bed. It's not easy to be student teaching for 6 hours each day, then have three graduate on-line classes on top of that. I have a good command of my schedule right now, so I know when I can play and when I can't.

I just got LOZ Twilight Princess today. I know it's been out since the the Wii itself debuted, but I've wound up passing on it until now. I just hope I'll have time to play it! On another note, does anyone here have a 3DS?

AROOOOOOO!!!
Twilight Princess is a very fun game AstroWolfD.
I need to open and play Skyward Sword. I got it for Christmas but I haven't taken the time to try it yet. I've just been playing goofy little arcade type games instead. I like those cause I can play for 15 min and call it good.
I chatted with a friend of mine recently that his main gripe against it was the intro was entirely too long and drawn out. He prefers Twilight Princess. But I'll still give it a try one of these days.

My brother has one. I played it for five minutes before it really started messing with my eyes and head. (Headache was coming on fast.) So I have no plans to get one any time soon.
There is certainly something to be said for short games fantasia_kitty. I'm a big Angry Birds fan myself. You definitely should give Skyward Sword a try soon. It's really a masterpiece, and it has one of my favorite videogame soundtracks. As for the 3DS, it certainly isn't for everyone. I got mine mainly so I could play the remakes of Starfox 64 and Ocarina of Time, and I usually just turn the 3D effect off most of the time I play.

More people like skyward sword better than twilight princess. so i would defiantly try it. Since one persons opinion is not yours. I never use the 3d on my 3DS.
Both Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword are spectacular games. I do agree that the intros to these games are rather long compared to previous Zelda games. In both games, it's like five hours of game play (ish) until the first temple. But once you get there...WOW!!! The soundtracks to both TP and SS are easily the best in the series and I may even say comparable to best soundtracks of all time.
I don't have a 3DS and have been debating about it for a while. But money for new gaming systems and the games that go with them are not exactly readily available right now. A game here and there maybe, but not a new system.

5 hours? for ss? i don't remember it taking that long. Twilight princess didn't take me that long i remember that but i was doing the minimum on my first play through.

Haha, sorry. I did make it sound like I was going to put it off for forever didn't I? No I'll definitely play it, it's just a matter of whenever I get around to it. And my friend does like it, just not as much as Twilight Princess.
But interestingly enough I've had a number of people tell me that they didn't like Skyward Sword quite as much as Twilight Princess, not just one, so that's very interesting that your group of friends feels exactly the opposite.
I shall keep an open mind.
I just finished the single-player version of Portal 2. I had gotten it as a Christmas present, got about three-quarters of the way through, then forgot about it for several months. I really liked it; the dialogue was absolutely hilarious (and somewhat distracting when you're trying to solve a puzzle). They left a lot of plot details unclear though. Anybody know if there are plans for a Portal 3?
And while I'm on the subject of puzzle games, has anybody else here played the Professor Layton games for DS?
Mark my words, someday I will think of something brilliant to put in my sig.
It is still too soon for me to compare Skyward Sword with Twilight Princess. There are aspects to both games I like more. I like the targeting system (for bows and arrows) much more in TP, but I like the sword play significantly better in SS. (can't imagine why . The graphics in TP are darker and more 'realistic' than SS which uses a cross between TP's and WW's graphics. The music in both are awesome in their own right. TP's score is more for an epic story, while SS's is more for epic battles. And one thing that might put SS far above TP will be Hero Mode. I love to challenge myself and I have completed the Twilight Princess three-heart challenge (never got a single heart piece or container). Looking at the difficulty of SS, doing the six-heart challenge (because that's what you start with) on Hero Mode will likely be a beast. It's a matter of personal opinion and in both games, by the time you get to the first temple (Forest Temple in TP, and Skyview Temple in SS) you are completely entrenched in the game and you feel like you really are Link about to save the world.
