I've been a Zelda fan for over 20 years. I remember getting the original Legend of Zelda game for my 8th birthday and have not let up. What is different about the Zelda series from most other series is that Nintendo truly takes their time to carefully make each game. They purposefully delay the release if they think it is going to be necessary. I have been frustrated with the delays, but the wait is beyond worth it. With few exceptions, each Zelda games gets better and better. IMO, the four best are Ocarina of Time, Windwaker, Twilight Princess, and now Skyward Sword. I can't really decide between these four for a #1 for now. But every other game in the series is not far behind. I will be able to decide on Skyward Sword after a few run throughs and a run-through on Hero Mode. I have not tried Hero Mode yet because I am moving (all my games are packed up now) but I have heard that is a beast. I'm looking forward to the challenges.

I haven't completed the normal mode because I am always working and don't have much time and my sewing project is higher on my list of things to finish.

@IloveFauns I actually have Phantom Hourglass, it about drove me crazy! I did finally beat it though.
And I've been looking on ebay for the Zelda games, the oldest one for teh game system NES is usually expensive but I think I wanna try and get it sometime and kinda start from there even though I have 2 or three other newer Zelda games.

@FencerforJesus Do you think Skyward Sword is better, (what you've seen of it) just as good, or not as good as Twilight Princess? I think I'm gonna have a run through of TP before playing Skyward Sword. :p

Credit for this awesome signature goes to Tarkheena! :) Thanks SO much T!

if you have a 3ds or a dsi you can get the first 3 zelda games on the e shop. I like skyward sword better than twilight princess myself but doesn't matter what i think, it matters what you think.

If you are looking for older games, check out GameStop or 3D Games (often at malls) especially the latter has them. 3D Games is carrying all the REALLY old classics from the NES including the systems to the N64, Sega Genesis, and the newest stuff. Or go to Amazon or E-bay and looking for the Zelda Collectors Edition for the GameCube. The Wii plays GC games and the Zelda Collectors Edition has the two NES Zelda games and the two N64 Zelda games.

Skyward Sword vs Twilight Princess. I've only beaten SS once, so I'm pretty much comparing a movie I've sen just once to one I've seen multiple times. There are aspects I like of each game more than the others. SS definitely has better sword action, but TP has more 'realistic' graphics. SS graphics are a mix between WW's cell-shaded 'toon' graphics and TP's 'realistic' graphics. The music score each has it's own powerful tracks. TP has a midi score in the same style as all the previous games, but SS has an orchestrated score. Both games have fun bosses but I haven't played SS enough times to really say which one's better. The puzzles in each temple are quite fun to figure out. But no game has as challenging puzzles as Ocarina of Time: Master Quest. That game makes the original OOT Water Temple look easy. But SS has a mode that has not been done before: Hero Mode. I hear that is a beast to try to beat. So it's too soon for me to say which one is better. But I will say SS does NOT disappoint. I finished the game and I sat back on my bed with a sense of awe and accomplishment.

I do suggest playing the other games first because there are a lot of easter eggs in SS that you will recognize from other games. And no, I won't go into spoilers.

I like cell-shaded graphics better for some reason and I am more a fan of brighter colours.

f4J: I recently completed the master quest and it was a lot harder than the original. I never thought the original water temple was hard but the master quest one was. I am yet to complete skyward sword and i hope i haven't ran into the glitch, once you do the 2nd temple that is in the faron woods did you do the desert one or the fire one?

I didn't like the cell-shaded graphics at first, but I had the same opinion of Windwaker as well. But once you get into the game and you get used to the graphics, the game is just amazing.

Master Quest is definitely harder, which I like. You really have to know how to search for switches and keys and you end up doing a lot of backtracking just to get some stuff. I love the challenge.

I don't know about a glitch. I never experienced one or recognized one. After you beat the Skyview Temple in Faron Woods, the next area is the Eldin Volcano, then the Lanayru Desert. And minor spoiler in that you have two temples in each area. The order is made pretty clear for you because you can't advance before you beat the temple you are told to go to. Have you faced the boss at Sacred Grounds yet? If you have, you know what I'm talking about. That boss is the half-way point of the game in the same way getting the Master Sword is often the mid-point of the game in many of the other games. In either case, that gives me a good clue about where you are in the game.

I have done the 2nd temples in both the forest and dessert, so i guess the glitch didn't have any effect. I have learned the song for eldin volcano now and I am heading to do that challenge soon. anyway here is the link that explains the glitch. http://www.zeldauniverse.net/zelda-news ... ng-glitch/

Huh, never experienced that and I did it the way the glitch have occurred. But thinking about it, I'm not sure I did the 4th step in the glitch steps. So I may never have triggered it.

So you are approaching the 6th temple overall? Not bad. You are not at the point of the glitch yet. But you are getting close to the end of the game. I'll just say prepare yourself with bottles (2 of them) and prepare yourself with some fun extra bosses (non-temple bosses).

I've gotten 4 bottles so far. The Sacred Shield is very useful but upgrade it if you can. I never got the Hyrule Shield. As far as "extra" bosses, I don't know about those. I was referring to non-temple bosses. You will face the Imprisoned again and you will have a boss battle on your Loftwing coming up. That was a fun one.

Not played hero mode. My games are packed for my move, which has now been delayed for another week and a half due to going to a funeral for a close friend in Colorado. Because we have a mobile home, we need to be here when the house is taken apart and moved. So I won't get back to the game until mid-January when our house is back in and all our utilities are hooked up.

I am sorry to hear about your friend. I hope hero mode is good, is it kind of like master quest or are the enemies just harder?

From what I hear, hero mode is double damage, no heart drops, no potions or fairies. And one thing I like about SS is that the enemies are much harder than previous games including bosses. I'm looking forward to the challenge of hero mode.
