Sim City for SNES was definitely one of the most entertaining and most played game I had for the platform. I used to spend hours on the game trying to get my meager city transformed into a Megalopolis because then you would get a cool Mario statue to put anywhere you wanted. The goal was 500,000 population and the closest I ever could get was 427,000, and that only for a short time with all my taxes turned down as low as I could make them. The problem was always land...when picking out a map at the beginning you need a map with as much land as possible. I had one I used to use simply because I couldn't find any others with that much ground...I want to say map #127, or maybe 167. But hey, there's 1000 maps or something, yes? ;)) The music was great too. This is one of the SNES titles I am very much looking for!

Spent the whole day watching E3! :p
I CAN'T WAIT for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception!!!!!! I can't believe we still have to wait more then five months to play it! The New trailer and demo they showed were amazing! Naughty Dog is awesome! :D

I was also happily surprised to see a trailer for the new
Adventures of Tintin game!!! :D
With an intro from both Spielberg and Peter Jackson!!!
Really looking forward to playing it! :)

I'm catching up on E3 now, currently watching yesterday's Sony broadcast. Once I'm done with that I'm going straight to the Nintendo broadcast. :D

@Ozymandias: Hope you enjoy watching the conferences! :) I loved watching them! :p

I thought Nintendo had some nice games at their conference. :)
Nothing I'm interested in because I don't own a 3DS or WII and aren't planning on getting either of them. :p
But if I did own them, I would like some of the games they showed today. :)

Here are a few videos from the Nintendo this morning:

I saw that they put out the new Mass Effect 3 trailer...

Spoiler
Reapers on Earth? Whoa!
. Then again I think there's only one other person on here that plays it, so probably not a cataclysmic news item :)).

LOL, at least you have one other person on here who plays Mass Effect. :p
I think I'm the only Uncharted fan on here :p ;) (doesn't help that it is a PS3 exclusive ;) ).

I was thinking the other day about the first time I played video games.
And I was wondering, what was the very first video game you guys played?

Mine was Spyro the Dragon on the original PlayStation.
When I was eight my dad bought a PlayStation for himself (which he never used) and it came with some game Demos, one of the games was Spyro! I played it that night and I've been hooked on video games ever since. :p :)

7Chronicles, that Tintin game looks a lot better than the Tintin: Destination Adventure game from some years ago, doesn't it? Good gravy, that game was awful! Collecting Snowy coins isn't my idea of a great game. Something to look forward too. :)

Currently watching:
Doctor Who - Season 11

@Warrior 4 Jesus: I watched some gameplay footage from the Tintin: Destination Adventure Game, that does look awful! :p
I'm sure the new one will be much better! ;)

For the sake of it and because I'm so pumped for Uncharted 3, here is the gameplay footage shown at E3! :D
The way everything around reacts to the movement of the ocean, even the water in the pool! Its crazy!

Here is the link (There is physical violence, like punches, sneaking up behind gunman and Gun Fire):

If you're waiting for a publisher (any publisher) to make a good movie-to-video game translation, don't hold your breath. The only one I can honestly think of is the old Tron Arcade game, but given that Tron is about computers and video games and the digital world itself it's kind of a shoe in to make a good game. ;)) I'm told that the LotR RTS games for PC are fun.

*thinks really hard for 10 minutes and gives up* I cannot think of any others, although there may be one or two more out there.

There have been tons and tons of good movie-to-game adaptations. In fact there have been some all-time classics.

-Goldeneye for the N64. Need I say more?
-LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Indiana Jones
-TONS of Star Wars games actually... Star Wars Arcade (new and old,) all the Star Wars for SNES, Rogue Squadron, Tie Fighter, Episode I Racer, the list goes on and on
-Spider-Man 2 for PS2
-Jurassic Park for Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo (these are hard games, but good ones)
-Most Disney movie games like Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King for SNES and Genesis
-Die Hard Trilogy for the PS1 and arcade
-Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay for XBox
-Lord of the Rings, both the Two Towers and Return of the King for Xbox/Gamecube/PS2 are good
-Terminator 2: the Arcade Game

Very true. In fact the game was better than the movie ;))

Some of those are good titles, others I'm not familiar with. My understanding is that oftentimes game publishers are rushed to put out a game that will coincide with the release of the movie it is sourced from, and the game suffers for it. One need only look at games like Atari's villified ET the Extraterrestrial to see what I'm talking about. Other games tend to be decidedly average to plain awful. Star Wars games succeed because they're not limited to the plot of a single movie and have a huge universe to draw from. The same is true for LotR and Star Trek (although there's precious few good Star Trek games).

Ah, the Aliens vs. Predator games...I almost forgot! Weak on plot but I challenge you to find a more frightening game. :))

I remember my dad bringing home a Pong home set back in the late 70's and loving it. ;)) I remember being a big Space Invaders fan back in the very early 80's in the arcade and it was the first video game I ever spent a quarter on. :D

My brother and I played Splinter Cell: Conviction a couple days again. It's the best co-op game ever. :D B-) Hunter mode is so much fun. I hope they make another SC with co-op like Conviction.

Has anyone else played Conviction?

I've been going through my Gameboy Zelda series while on vacation here in Colorado. Already did Minish Cap and now mostly done with Phantom Hourglass. It's been fun watching my mom's reaction to seeing me do stuff with the DS that you typically wouldn't expect from a game boy device. I love the creative ways the Zelda games make use of the DS features such as the mic and even at one point making you close the DS and open it to move on.

Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.

Funny Fencer, I've been replaying LoZ: A Link to the Past on the SNES during spare freetime this past week. It's fun but definitely frustrating and I'm not nearly as agile or limber as I used to be, so some of the dungeons (which are essentially big agility puzzles) are giving me a hard time ;)). Also showed Wifester Super Mario World, the only Mario game I ever really liked (discounting the original Donkey Kong, Mario's debut. Who doesn't like that game??? ;))).
