I've made that sort of mistake too. Whenever 'Portland' is mentioned on TV or whatever (Lost, The Fringe etc.) I instantly think they're referencing Portland in Victoria (Australia) but of course that would be very unusual and they're really referring to Portland, Oregon (in the US).

Indeed i wish they would name places different names.
anyway getting back on topic.
what 3ds games are people looking forward to?
*found this awesome new game that she has heard about in the past...
It's called WolfQuest, and it basically allows you to take on the life of a wolf, start a pack and rais your pups. The only downer is that you have to download it of the internet, and mine freezes up a lot in some spots so saving frequently is a must! But I think it's worth it (Especially since it's free) There's also multiplayer version if you have an account on the forum.
Anyone else hear of it? It can be found here: http://wolfquest.org/

I am currently running through my collection of Zelda games. I'm currently working on Four Swords and next will be Ocarina of Time. I think I am going to go for the ultimate challenge for that game: Master Quest and the 3-heart challenge. I've done the three heart challenge on Twilight Princess and that is a beast, but Ocarina of Time can be much more so. We'll see how that goes.
Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.
I figured out how to stalk and run in WolfQuest... very helpful when hunting elk
I have yet to make it to the end without dying... or losing at least half of my pups Right now though I still have all four
I think this is the furthest I've gotten with all four pups
Edit
I made it to the final stage with all four pups Unfortunately I lost one right after because three predators attacked at the same time!

It took a while, but i finally got Mass Effect running! I'm not too far into it yet, but it's starting to get interesting for me. I don't particularly like the way combat is run - i'm used to the much more RPG mechanics of the KoTOR games - but i'm getting used to it.
Two notes: first, i knew going into it that Raphael Sbarge (who voiced Carth in Knights of the Old Republic) also did the voice of Kaiden Alenko, but it's still funny to hear him chide Joker for being "paranoid" in the beginning.
Secondly, the first assignment is picking up something on Eden Prime.

me and my brother once did that and gannondolf was so hard to beat.
I'm not worried about Gannondorf. I'm worried about Dark Link. No other boss has given me as much difficulty as Ocarina of Time's Dark Link.
I'm actually taking a break from my Zelda series. I just got a new game for the Wii called Arc Rise Fantasia. It's an interesting RPG so far. Graphics aren't fully top notch but still impressive. Too soon to make any sense out of the story yet. I'm only two hours into the game and got a little skunked by the first boss. Battle system is different and I am still trying to learn it, so I won't try to describe it yet. Music is still too early to tell how much I will like it as well, but I do like the battle tunes so far. Will report more as the game progresses.

been so long that i forgot about him. When i get my 3ds version i won't be able to put it down and it comes ou like 3 days after exams, so i won't be busy.
My brother borrowed me his copy of Homefront for Xbox 360 and it's a lot of fun, although it's a very short single player game. The premise is that North Korea merges with South Korea in the very near future, takes over Japan in the wake of a nuclear disaster on Japanese soil in 10 years, and then with the combined force and now advanced weapons (courtesy of Japan) invades the continental United States. It's actually a fun little game, if a bit too brief. John Milius, who did the movie Red Dawn many years ago (and Apocalypse Now years before that) helped put the game together and it's a great deal of fun. The game is fast paced and nice to look at, although it's very linear so one doesn't have much control of how to set up ambushes or advance on the enemy.
The Multiplayer is a real hoot too and players are given experience points for accumulating kills and with each new rank new weapons and/or vehicles are unlocked, providing incentive to get really good at it. Overall score from me is 3 1/2 stars out of five for a way-too-short single player game...had they spread it out to about 20 hours this would be a 4-5 star game, no doubt. Still, interesting premise and good execution.

Finished first run-through of Mass Effect yesterday.
On the whole, i liked it. I adjusted to the combat style, and unlike a number of games i've played, the final missions leading up to the end game weren't boring ..
It was a bit more hyped-up than it delivered on, though. As in the other Bioware game i played, the paragon answers bordered on "dense" at times, some of the side characters could have been developed more (perhaps they get better in the second game?), and it did recycle a lot from other games - though i'll agree that it was very well-done all the same.
One thing i like about RPGs is the different ways conversations/side quests/etc. can go, so i'll definitely be playing this one through a few more times, and finding a copy of Mass Effect 2. Hopefully it won't take a year to get that one running, though ...

Can't believe there are 0 posts in here about Portal 2. Really??? It's so clever and funny. I have trouble playing through the game cause I'm giggling too much. Wheatley is my new hero.
Haven't beaten it yet, but I hear the end is pretty awesome.
My signature is currently my favorite line in the game, but another line, about potatoes and clapping, that'd be a close second.
I really enjoyed Portal 1, but I just haven't had time to purchase the 2nd one. I guess I'm still kinda bummed out that they haven't put out Half Life 2: Episode 3 yet...and it's been 3 years almost already!
So, is GLADoS still in it? Is the cake still a lie?

No, I'm kidding, I know how busy you are so I suppose you're excused.
But when you get a chance to play it, you absolutely have to cause I know you'll love it.

I don't want to give away too many spoilers, but yes to the first question, and I cannot answer the second.
My husband discovered an app on his phone last night with a good many of the Portal 2 quotes. Some of them were one-sided and unfortunately cut out the dialogue that goes with them (which is what makes them funny), but others... oh man. "Hey, nice potato."
I have it, but I haven't had much chance to play it past the third chapter due to real life getting busy. Looking forward to playing through more, though, now that I have more time.
Dialogue is awesome as always.
