Yeah, I have to admit I am a bit disappointed that there will be no third KotOR game. But hopefully ToR will resolve the fate of Revan and the Exile. I'd be very disappointed if they never explained what happened to them.

Savber, I loved and hated Portal. It was great fun and very original but also horribly frustrating at times. Half-Life 2 isn't generally my sort of game (I have no problem playing FPS but have no love for zombie games). It was good fun but I'm wondering when part 3 is going to be released. I haven't tried Team Fortress 2 yet, it looks good!

Ooooh Starcraft fans on NW.

Yeah, I didn't see that one coming either.

So, RTS games aside, any Bioware (Knights of the Old Republic/Mass Effect) or Valve (Half Life/Left 4 Dead) fans here?

Yes and yes. Kotor 1 was a fantastic game. Kotor 2 was a fantastic game with a truly shoddy ending. Mass Effect 1 was a stellar game with a somewhat ripped off plot twist from a somewhat older game. Mass Effect 2 is one I just finished playing and enjoyed it a great deal, although I didn't think it was quite long enough, and the whole thermal clips thing I found to be a bit aggravating considering that in ME1 one could fire a weapon continuously and really only needed to worry about heat overloads. Now you have to switch out clips. Still, looking forward to ME3...curious how they'll finish the trilogy off. Tali = win. B-)

I've played more FPS's than I can recount and so I consider myself to have a tiny little bit of knowledge on the subject. Of all the shooters I've played none comes close to having the depth of plot, action, and great storytelling as the Half Life series. Like W4J I'm really anxious to see Episode Three, but they're not even throwing out tidbits anymore. I'm a bit worried it won't come out at all. Yikes! Portal 2 is scheduled for a tentative release around March of next year, I've read. Portal 1 was a real hoot and I enjoyed it immensely! Team Fortress II is also a real hoot...the character models look like something from The Incredibles, and that adds quite a bit to its charm, in a cartoonish sorta way. Ever since Team Fortress I back in 98' my favorite class is the Engineer. Love those remote sentry guns! B-) Hilarious Team Fortress II trailer here. :D

I think that line will forever be burned into my brain. Yeah, my husband loves [Portal]. I honestly don't know why I haven't played it myself. Looks like my kind of game.

Portal is a pile of fun and a real brain breaker at times ;)). It has a few moments where you're fairly sure that the game developers were asking too much of the player, but once you are able to surmount those seemingly impossible obstacles it only makes you feel that much better. :D

The cake is a lie! ;))

I wouldn't be surprised if they made a KotOR 3 sometime, as it would certainly be a money-maker. The question is, how long will they make us wait first?

Just a heads up to anyone and everyone who plays any of Zynga's games (Farmville, Frontierville, etc)...

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142 ... =yhoofront

The short version is that Zynga has been taking people's private info off their Facebook profiles and selling it... which is illegal based on Facebook's privacy policies.

I went through and blocked all of Zynga's games today on my Facebook page cause even though the damage has probably already been done, I refuse to support any company who does that.

Thought you all might want to know.

I've only played PopCan games on Facebook like Bejewelled. I intentionally stay away from Farmvilles, Mafia Wars, etc because I don't need to waste away my time on that type of thing. It is interesting to note that many of my friends who have been hacked have been known to play said games. Be also aware of many links that your friends post. If they post to many of thier friend's walls individually and all at once, almost guarenteed it is a virus. DO NOT OPEN or CLICK on them.

XBox 360 here. ;)) Half the reason I love my 360 is because of the achievement system. It's especially gratifying getting a high point one for accomplishing something very difficult in a game. :)

I have a PS2 to go with my Wii. I'm not in a financial or time worthy position to afford a PS3 at this point. Not enough games that draw my interest, and the ones that do would be on their equivalent of the virtual console. And curious, does the PS3 play PS1 and PS2 games? If not, that is also a big block for me to get it.

I played "Farmville" for a while, but i never really enjoyed it, and got sick of it pretty quick.

I mostly use my PC, but we have a Wii too. I like the PC better - i just adore good graphics - but i like some of the games we have for the Wii as well.

Is it like getting a trophy? :- On the PS3 you can get Trophies for doing extra stuff like: Beating the game on Crushing mode, or shoot while hanging from a wall, find all of the relics in the game and stuff like that. :)

And curious, does the PS3 play PS1 and PS2 games? If not, that is also a big block for me to get it.

The First generation PS3 (This is the one I have) can play PS1 and PS2 games, but the newer PS3 Slim can not.
So if you were to go and buy one you would want to get the first generation which looks like this:

And if you could not get the first generation, you could always keep your PS2 and use it to play your PS1 and PS2 games and then play your PS3 games on the Slim.
This is what the Slim looks like:

Hope that helps you. :)

Well, in LOTRO they are letting people play for free (only up to a certain level though, and they can't explore the whole map). It's a good idea, but they also now have a "LOTRO store" which I HATE.. you have to pay real money to get the 'special' items it offers.. [-( Very annoying, I'm a paying member (which isn't cheap) so like I'm gonna spend more money now on in-game items?

I'm not familiar with the PS3 version, but it sounds quite similar. Each game you buy (for 360...older titles don't count that I've seen) has a varied set of objectives to complete. Most are gotten by simply completing a mission and a little info window will pop up at the bottom of the screen with the name of the Achievement and how many points you won for accomplishing it. Some of them are very hard to get and those are typically worth lots of points. Others still are hidden achievements and won't pop up until you've done some amazing thing in game to warrant it. Most games typically have anywhere between 500 to 1500 "Gamer Points" and they accumulate in a Gamer Score...when you're cruising through XBox Live and see various players with huge Gamer Scores you know they've put a lot of work into it (which sounds a bit odd considering it's a form of entertainment, not really a "job" per se ;)) ). Unlocking some of the more rare achievements becomes something of a point of pride with lots of folks. Personally I'm a bit OCD with it and like to get every single achievement for each game I get but these things take time to win and who has that kind of time? Still...lots o' fun. :D

That is exactly like getting trophies for the PS3! After you get all the trophies you get the last trophy which is called a Platinum trophy which is a huge reward because you can't get it until you get every other trophy in the game. LOL, its not a job, but it is work! :p :)

LOL! That is just like me and my sister! We have made it a goal to get all of our game's trophies by the end of the year!
It drives me crazy not seeing the game 100% completed! 8-} :p
We have been working hard on getting them all since June!
But we are finally almost done! :D
At least me and my sister play together or take turns, it must be hard to get everything by yourself! :-o :)
