So, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. In addition to being what seems to be the greatest entry yet in one of my favorite video game series, these games decide to throw a new twist into gaming.

Introducing: the Pokewalker.

This device that comes with these games is essentially a pedometer. However, it integrates itself with the game very nicely. You can transfer a Pokemon into the Pokewalker, go for a walk in real life, and it actually helps your Pokemon gain experience points to go up a level. Not only that, but additional functions allow you to catch Pokemon and find items on your walk, with rarer Pokemon and items only becoming available as you walk further.

To re-emphasize, you're doing all this while walking about in real life. Not in-game, actually walking about. The device is a pedometer, after all.

I've tried out this function, and it's quite effective, especially since I'm too busy during the weekdays to actually play the game itself, and I often can walk to where I have to go, so having an alternate way to level up my team while getting some nice bonuses along the way.

I think it's great that a videogame has decided, not only to incorporate physical activity with gaming (which other games have done), but to also extend the game to life outside the game. After all, we can't be playing video games all the time now, can we? :p

Here is the latest romours(most likey true) on the new zelda game.

•The game will be vary from the dungeon field dungeon method we are accustomed too (nothing new, Eiji Aonuma confirmed that last year).
•You will be able to select right or left handed at the start, and Link will be left or right handed based on your selection
•The gameplay and basic mechanics are complete.
•They are currently polishing up the story and Characters.
•One of the characters they are working on is a innkeeper in Link's home village who has a son that looks up to Link.
•The girl in the art is not the Master Sword, and it appears the Master Sword will not be in the game.
•The girls name from the painting could possibly be Adelle, Adella, or Aderu.
•She is not with you throughout the game like Ezlo and Midna.
•The face in the painting of her is not her real face. It's not fully elaborated on much, but it does say that it was a place holder concept art piece.(assuming the entire art itself was just concept work)
•Link's sword is highly unique in this game, and will have several unlockable abilities. Adelle (or whatever her final name becomes) communicates with you through this sword.

•There will be horseback combat. Epona will avoid obstacles automatically.
•The models for 3 significant characters in the game have been touched up, but no they are not Zelda or Ganondorf. (Google translate gives rough names of Link, Gorons, and Epona, but our translator said it's not specifically mentioned)
•The idea of this version of Link also being The Hero of Time has been highly considered, and may already be implemented.
•Time travel plays a role in the game.
•The game takes place in more than just Hyrule, and may possibly not be Hyrule at all.

I finished playing Bioshock 2 last week and I've got rather mixed feelings on it. The plot is merely passable and really, at no point, approaches the tightness of the first game. The graphics are very nice and you get to explore more of Rapture, although the level design can get a bit frustrating at times. And with the antics of this game's evil mastermind I never really got the feeling that the plot was all that plausible...it didn't mesh very neatly with the first game although the developers did try to jam it into the existing mythology. You play as a Big Daddy, a very special one, although for most of the game you feel like you're playing a sickly Big Daddy since a single Splicer can really hurt you if you're not careful. In fact that's probably my biggest gripe with the game...Big Daddy's are the biggest, meanest critters to be located anywhere, able to absorb intense punishment, and it feels like you have less health than Jack, the protaganist of the first game.

Being a Big Daddy means you get new weapons, and one big one in particular; the Drill. She's a gas guzzler, but one can conceivably finish the game using only that and Plasmids (yes...a Big Daddy who can use Plasmids...sort of raised my eyebrow too). The Big Sisters are walking ministers of death and are psychotic to boot, but other than end-level bosses they really bring surprisingly little to the game. The Trap ammo for the new Rivet Gun is a blast. The .50 rotary cannon is also a blast. The rest of the weapons are standard FPS fare. No flamethrower! /:)

If you liked Bioshock 1 (or are interested in playing it but haven't gotten around to it yet), you'll enjoy the game...it's really good in many places, but this one simply doesn't surpass its forebear, except in the underwater segments.

The next two games on my to-get-list are most definately going to be Super Mario Galaxy 2 and the next Zelda game. But I may need to start saving up for a PS3. My PS2 is starting to go out. Three times in the last week, I have gotten a near black screen of death. Which simply translates to the video goes out, but sound continues and controls still work. And of course if I do get a PS3, one of the first games on my to get list will be FFXIII.

Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.

Me and my sister just finished re-playing Prince of Persia (2008) PS3 game. I Love that game! :D
I was a little disappointed when the game studio decided to go back to the original trilogy for their newest POP game, but I’m hoping that the next POP will be a continuation of the (2008) POP game since they kind of left you off on a cliff hanger! :-o ;) :)

Some of my favorite games are Zoo Tycoon 2 (PC), Mariokart (Wii), and the Nancy Drew Adventure Series (PC) We actually don't have a videogame consul (or whatever its called). I used to use my brother's Sega after he moved out (awesome times playing Mario Andretti Racing) but I accidentally ran into it and broke it :(( :(( :((

I have been playing the re-translated version of Breath of Fire II for Super Nintendo. At times, the game is an absolute delight, but the shoddiness of some aspects is very surprising. Like the music... almost as generic as music in a role-playing game can be, and this is a Squaresoft/Capcom game!

Yeah, I was (and am) a huge fan of the original BioShock, but the second game isn't quite up to par. I did love Eleanor, and her relationship with Delta - I worked hard for the "good" ending (the one you get when you save ALL the Little Sisters) and it even made me tear up a little. I appreciated that the philosophy of this game took the opposite extreme of the first - instead of Andrew Ryan's Objectivism (all should be sacrificed to the self), we have Sofia Lamb's hyper-Communism (the self should be sacrificed to all), and the end result of both is much the same: no room for true human community and individuality.

Overall, I was hoping it would take a lot more risks - maybe even venture outside of Rapture, to the surface (the original teaser trailer implied this) - and because it didn't, it ended up feeling too unnecessary, even with some good story ideas at hand. If they do make a third one I hope they shake things up a lot.

I picked up on the philosphy change right away...it went from Objectivism to pseudo-Communism and it sort of made my head spin. But then this injects some inplausibility into the proceedings too. Normally I'd put spoilers but since no one else on here plays Bioshock (save for W4J, and I don't know if he was really a fan of it) I'll spell out my biggest problem with the plotline for Bioshock 2. In order for the plot to work it has to mesh seamlessley with that of the first...it means that there are plot details that must be in the first game that you can expect to find in the 2nd, and vice versa. There's really not any, beyond a few obscure locations referenced on billboards in the first game. The whole time I played I felt that the whole game had a "tacked on" feel to it.

Now I can let all that slide but the most glaring issue of all is that Bioshock 2 sits glaringly in defiance of the mythology set up by the first game. Ryan is pure Objectivist....Communists are their polar opposites...the whole philosophy would be like kryptonite to Ryan. If Lamb was in the city for that long creating that much Socialist upheaval Ryan wouldn't have let her do it, let alone her being allowed in the city in the first place. She'd have been fish food in short order. And if she was that big of a threat why was there no mention of her in the first game? See, this is why it had such a tacked on feeling about it. The graphics were beautiful and it was a real blast getting to play as a Big Daddy (a sickly weakling Big Daddy with the constitution of a wilted green bean, but still...) but I never fully bought the story.

If they do another Bioshock, I really hope they do a prequel...I've longed to see Rapture when it was functioning. We got a tantalizing glimpse of that at the beginning of Bioshock 2 and I really yearn to see more of it. Perhaps set during the War. :)

I think Fallout 3 is a pretty awesome game. It really seemed to me to be Oblivion with guns. Which is pretty much amazing. I also love Oblivion on that note. And morrowind. Heck the Elder Scrolls is just amazing. B-)

I love Fallout 3 myself (indeed...I love the Fallout franchise. Look at my avatar! ;)) ) and have played it through several times. I don't have the Mothership Zeta expansion but I plan on getting it in the near future. Fallout 1 and 2 were also excellent, although a bit dated by today's standards. Fallout: Tactics was fun but gets a healthy heap of scorn from lots of folks too...I enjoyed it but it's not for everyone. They're going to be releasing a new Fallout (Fallout - New Vegas) game later this year set in Nevada with the New California Republic and the New Texas Rangers as major players. See the trailer here. :D
