Halo's been out for a number of years now. I thought it was colourful and decent fun but far from great or even very good. The story is rubbish and the game-play is nothing special or original. It gets far more hype than it deserves. But still, it's fun.

I can only really speak for Halo 1, and much of Halo 2 (I lost patience with it after 2-3 hours), so I've nothing to say on the newer ones. I'm rather ho-hum about Halo 1. The storyline is very good, and the graphics are decent. But between the writing and the extremely repetitive and thoroughly unimaginative level design I think the game comes across as rather mediocre at best. It was originally supposed to be released as a PC game but at some point Bungie (the developer) gave that idea the axe and shot it over at the original X-Box, which is where it really gained its (in my opinion) undeserved popularity (it would have been bargainware inside 6 months on a PC-only release...there's much better out there and I suspect Bungie kind of knew that). But then again you have to remember there weren't that many shooters on consoles back then because controlling them was a bit tricky at best. For many folks it was their first shooter and the reason why they got into the genre, which I can't hold against the game as that's a good thing.

But the thing is just so...dull. Like so many other things in life (football, cell phones, guacamole, etc.) I really wanted to love it but it was just lacking to me.

On the plus side they had this promotional Mt. Dew for a few months back when they released Halo 3...it was labeled as "Game Fuel" and was really quite good. It's not as good as the new, blue Voltage, but still the stuff was rather tasty and I wish they'd release it again.

APB (All Points Bulletin) has grabbed my attention, it's an MMO so right there it already has my interest ;) . Reading about it, it seems like it could be somewhat challenging, but I really like the idea of less grinding (which most MMO's seem to have too much of).

I finally got past the Egyptian campaign on Age of Empires: Mythologies DS game, it took me forever! :p Now I can finally play the Greek campaign! :D

Two weeks ago one of our TV’s broke, so me and my sister are dying to play Playstation, but it turned out to be a Blessing in disguise. I guess the Playstation Network experienced a virus that reset the systems memory to Dec, 1999. If we had played our PS3 all of our Trophies and Game data would have been Lost! :p

I would like to play god of War, but there are some things in there I personally don't care for. =; :-s That's just my opinon though. :)
Which is a shame because I love Greek mythology and all the creatures.
But on the bright side I just pre-ordered Clash of the Titans on PS3 which will have plenty of Creatures in it so I'm very happy about that! :D :p

Anyone else looking forward to Transformers: War for Cybertron game? I can’t wait for it! :p

Give Titan Quest a look. If you have a PC that can handle it (the graphics are very nice) you can find the whole thing, including the expansion, for a song. And it's a good 50+ hour long game, and loaded to the gills with Greek, Egyptian, Babylonian, and Far Eastern mythologies.

Here's a link to a gameplay videoshowing the very early parts of the game, featuring a few Satyrs and Centaurs getting whacked on.

My husband and I recently pulled out our Wii Fit again after being packed away for quite some time *sheepish grin*. I still can't get over the engineering that went into that game. I mean it really impresses me that with a carefully calibrated balance board and a wii controller and nun-chuck, you get get a darn good workout (if you're not cheating). I mean I know very well I'm not in the best of shape, but boy am I worn out, tired and sore after putting in a solid 30-45 minutes on that thing.
We're thinking about getting the Wii Fit Plus after my father-in-law (who's a Wii Fit enthusiast) got it and has been loving it. Anyone else given it a try yet?

Being a computer science major, I can see how the programs for the Wii Fit work, but also being a fencer, I don't see a need to use Wii Fit for my workout.

I am currently playing through two games now. On my PS2 I am going Final Fantasy X2, the first actual sequel in the series. It's an interesting game so far, but it will not hold up on my scales as FF VII, FFXII, and FFIX have. The other game I am playing for while I am travelling for Spring Break is FF XII Revenant Wings for the DS. This is the second sequel in the series and having already beaten it, it is a better sequel than X2.

Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.

I've been recently playing the New Super Mario Bros. Game. It is really cool, and the levels are excited, and easily played more then once :D

yeah it is really good. I like playing by myself rather then multiplayer because it just get annoying when the person is jumping on your head every second.

Me and my sister are going crazy right now because the TV we always play video games on is broken and we can't get a new one until July! Anyways, A new Lord of the Rings game was just announced a few days ago for PS3 and Xbox, it's called The Lord of the Rings: The War in the North.
Its going to be the first rated M game for any LOTR games, hopefully it's only for the gore. I'm really looking forward to it though! :D :p
