Reopening this thread since the movie is less than a month away. :D

Arcade Fire's song for the movie's soundtrack was the latest song to be released to the internet, but it has apparently already disappeared. Not sure what's up with that, but I thought it was quite good. Very eerie and dark sound to it.

I found it on youtube - kinda strange, but interesting.

I bought the official illustrated movie guide a little while back - i was very encouraged to read that

Spoiler
they discussed filming the scene where Peeta gives Katniss the burned bread.

@ Arwenel: Regarding that scene,

Spoiler
it's in the film, but it's been revised to happen closer to the actual Reaping...both Peeta and Katniss look to be about the same age as they are in the actual Games. I'm not sure what I think about that...I think the story about the BOY With The Bread was so profound because they were just kids, and Peeta was very influential in giving Katniss the confidence she needed to become the strong provider that she was. If it happens later on, some of the significance is lost.

Anyway, I have my ticket for the midnight showing in IMAX, yeah baby. :D Can't wait!

I've signed up for the movie trip my college is doing. I can't wait!
Has anyone listened to the Taylor Swift song from the soundtrack? I love it.

@Gymfan: Well that's disappointing. They still might be able to pull it off ... i dunno.

Lady Haleth: I belive the Taylor Swift track is called 'Safe and Sound.' I love that song. Very different than the usual Taylor Swift sound.

And I love that clip! That was one of my favorite parts of the book. :D

I'm planning to see the film with a sister sometime this month or next. It looks amazing, but I'm anxious about the Arena scenes. We haven't seen more than 10 seconds all told from the second half of the film; that worries me for some reason.

"Safe and Sound" is very much a Civil Wars song, stylistically. If you liked it, I'd really recommend checking out their debut album, Barton Hollow. I think they're pretty awesome. Surprisingly, I've liked all three of the songs, so I'm looking forward to the soundtrack album releasing.

And here is a fan-made version of Rue's Lullaby. I absolutely love it!

Here's a new clip from the movie. It has Katniss meeting Cinna for the first time. I really like it!

Ooh, thanks for sharing, narnian_at_heart. I love how they're starting to release clips now. :D

At first I had doubts about who they cast as Cinna, but this clip made me rethink that. I love how his attitude is so different from the rest of the Capitol. That was actually one of the things that I loved about the character in the book, and I was surprised at how well they conveyed that into the movie. This clip made me realize that it's the portrayal of the characters rather than their appearance that will make or break the movie for me. I only hope the rest of this movie is just as good.

This is my first time in this thread as I've only recently read the books. I'll have to come back later and answer the questions that are posted in the opening thread of this page. Suffice it to say, though, that I really liked the entire series. I finally see why these books are so popular right now. ;))

I'm one of the few around here that have not yet read the books, though the discussion on the forum and the movie trailer have piqued my interest.

And tonight's local news closed with a note that eager fans of the movie are already lining up outside of the Mall of America to see cast appearances tomorrow at 5 pm (that's up to a 20-hour wait in windchills that are approaching 0F).

(Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Alexander Ludwig and Amandla Stenberg are among those planning to attend).

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

I saw mockingjay pins for sale at Wal-Mart today, but I didn't get one. I wanted to, though.

I really liked those clips! Peeta is great in the first one, and he's not bad-looking, either :p

And I liked the scenes in the second one too, particularly when they're all standing in the training area, and the girl who plays Glimmer gives that little head tilt. It looks very much in keeping with her character.
