The redhead avox girl is casted (although she looks older than i imagined...)

And

MTV has an interview with Lawrence.... I haven't gotten to watch the video yet but the article seems like a lot of the same stuff we've already heard

I'm not at all happy with the choice of Lenny Kravitz for Cinna (one of my favorite characters), but I'm going to withhold final judgment till I see him in character and see his acting.
The avox girl looks good.

Did anyone else see the sneak photos of the Reaping extras, Jennifer, and Prim (Willow Shields) in costume? I think they were illicitly taken, and we're not supposed to post them. :( But I thought it looked good! "Prim" looks essentially perfect, I have to say.

Interesting that they're going for a "1940's" look, from what I saw...

I love the Hunger Games!

I hope the movie is good. I'm a bit worried about a few casting decisions (Josh Hutcherson?), the budget (it should be at least 100 million), and the fact that they seem to be selling it to the Twilight crowd and will potentially tone down the violence to make the film more parent friendly.

:-o :-o :-o No way, there's photos already? ..... oh darn, too bad they're not being posted...

I kinda hope that all of the Twillight crowd isn't going to fall for the movie... For the most part, the attention span of the Twilight craze didn't really last that long, it seems now that most of their fans are only the hardcore ones and the phase has died down...

Well, I'm not sure how much I can say, but if you do a Google search you should be able to find a couple copies out there.
And Katniss does wear a blue dress, like in the book! It's not what I imagined, though. Kinda 1940's. I'm not sure what I expected, to be honest, but not something that far back. :p

I also thought the fashion choices were a bit unusual Adeona. I assume they'll make sense in context, but yes, for now it seems the dresses are a kind of prairie-influenced 40s look.

Adeona, I found the reaping pictures :D

I kinda pictured district 12's wardrobe a bit more run-down that the prairie look, but then again, it's reaping day

President Snow has been cast and it could not be more perfect. Donald Sutherland will play the evil president. Sutherland seems like a really nice guy and usually plays pretty genial roles, but I think he could be pretty evil and he looks perfect for the role.

Here's the article.

Thanks for the link outlier! I hadn't even seen some of those - Ms. Collins and the Dist. 8 tribute. :-o Interesting for sure! What on earth is Ms. Collins' costume?! Maybe a nurse's uniform? Also, I sure hope Liam Hemsworth is not in costume. That t-shirt and the shorts look really out of place compared to the other costumes!

I was wondering when we'd get a casting announcement for President Snow. I agree that Mr. Sutherland looks the part, Kate. And I seem to remember having seen him in something, but I can't remember what, and certainly don't remember his acting... It sounds like he's a good choice, though.

He's been in Pride & Prejudice as Mr. Bennet, Adeona, which may be where you've seen him. :)

I like that he's been cast for Snow, though. He's a good actor and fits with my mental picture of him.

I liked him in P&P,
I didn't know what actor I would have liked for this role but when I saw this on another site, with a pic next to it- I knew he was perfect for the role. I love this casting.

Adeona, I hope that wasn't Liam's costume... it probably isn't though, cuz it's out of place and he looks as if he just came onto set or something

Donald Sutherland was in Fools Gold right? .... I know I watched that movie, but I don't really remember much about it... so much for that ;))
He looks good for the role though :)

Donald Sutherland as Snow. That's okay, I guess. I'm actually rather comforted about the overall casting when I looked into it some more. I'm not going to worry about it too much.

I'm excited about the Reaping pictures. Little Prim looks perfect! It seems they're keeping everything very close to the book description.

There's a rumor going around that there's going to be 4 movies, not 3. :-s

Deadline is reporting it. I'm not sure what to think of this- but I haven't yet read the third book.
