@jo Ooh, that's fantastic, thanks — although the rather winding route of the aircraft seems to be landing up in Brisbane, and I'm from Melbourne. But I lived in Brisbane for a few years and I loved it, so that'll definitely do. How cool to have a cake that shows both my native land and my adopted land! 
And a couple of Aussie spiders, too — a redback (under the glass; very similar species to your black widow spiders), and I think the one lower down is meant to be a white-tail. Just as well I'm not scared of spiders! 
And I just love the koala, too.
I will in fact be back in Oz for a little time in June, so I'll get to see my family and friends then! Really looking forward to it.
