WW it really isn't that hard to broil......well, that said, I've only broiled in an electric oven, not a gas one.
Shadowlander, I bet it would work just as good on the grill.
AEF, that's a cool castle cake. I like to decorate things, but rarely do it cause my family isn't very fond of icing.
SA, those look delicious!

Kewl thread! Makes me ravenously hungry.
I'm not too much of a cook; I'm more of a soup person. I specialize in chicken noodle soup and something I call Ratatouille soup, which is really a very yummy veggie minestrone. Just look below...
It has a diced tomato broth, with zucchini, summer squash, beans and macaroni noodles added. It is SO yummy. You can find the recipe here.
One of my younger sisters is into cake making and decorating. She makes a mean ice-cream cake and likes to frost with Cool-Whip, since she hates frosting. The examples I'm going to post below are rare in that she actually uses frosting; I guess one can't do very good color decorating with Cool-Whip, lol!
^^ This is one of the ones without frosting.
Those are really cool cakes, Gymfan15! You sister has some real talent Your dish looks really good too.

Does anyone have an ideas as to what I should make for a tea party I'm hosting next weekend? I'm at a complete loss

Oh my goodness this thread makes me so hungry.
I made some chocolate cheese cup cakes and they turned out really well.
briofthesilversea: have you considered cheese cake and scones? Those both seem very tea party-ish to me.
you can have jam and whipped cream for the scones.

You could make miniature quiche? I'll have to dig up the recipe...but they're made in muffin tins and are delish!

I love cooking! I like making things the hard way (home made).
Baking bread is my favorite thing to do. I also enjoy baking (cakes and cookies and pies OH My, Yum!).
"Aslan is the Jesus of Narnia."
I had a very strong craving for pesto on friday.....but the only basil I had was dried, and that would not work at all.
I really like making peanut butter pies.... I don't have any pictures but I use an oreo crust and drizzle melted chocolate all over the top, so when it hardens it tastes like a reeses.
i also enjoy making smoothies....its an easy and yummy snack, and all I need is yoghurt and frozen bananas.
Now I'm really hungry.....time to go get some hot chocolate!
