My favourite soundtracks are:
Narnia, LWW
Lord of the Rings
Eragon
~Queeny
Duracell: the power of 10,000 rabbits in one battery

I also like the Gladiator soundtrack by Hans Zimmer, Kingdom of Heaven by our own Harry Gregson-Williams
Absolutely love those two. I can't get enough of Hans Zimmer with Lisa Gerrard (not to mention Galdiator is my favorite movie). The Kingdom of Heaven soundtrack is really good too. I listen to these two soundtracks (along with Lotr and narnia) at least once a week.
Some recent ones I've started to like but haven't bought yet are Alexander and The Count of Monte Cristo.
I don't have any Harry Potter soundtracks, and would like to purchase one. Which is the best of the lot?
I'm interested to read everyone's answers to this as well, since the only one I have is the latest one, HBP. Which I would reccomend, it has some REALLY pretty tracks. And some amazingly sad tracks. And intense tracks!
"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring." Marilyn Monroe
My favorite so far of the ones I've listened to, which is just the last three, is HBP. OotP is very good too, but GoF was kinda bland.
*pops in to announce that she had an excellent weekend* I got my very own copy of the soundtrack for Atonement! And Mark O'Conner's cd Liberty, which is the soundtrack for a documentary or TV series, I think. I just know that I like it and that it had an excellent line-up of musicians.
I also got a copy of the soundtrack for Gettysburg, which I hadn't heard, and haven't listened to yet, but it looked good. (It's probably even sillier to judge a CD by its cover than a book, but oh well. )

But our hearts we lost - how long ago! -- G. K. Chesterton
Soundtracks I like to listen to the most are:
The Fountain
Repo! The Genetic Opera
The Matrix
Myst series soundtracks
The Crow
Fight Club
I like some other ones but I listened to them so much when I was younger I'm mostly burned out on them now.
"I accept chaos- I'm not sure whether it accepts me."
The Fountain soundtrack keeps popping up on my Pandora station. I wish Pandora would give me more than just two or three tracks from it, because what I've heard sounds amazing.
I recently discovered the District 9 soundtrack...which I love. I got it just two days ago and it's become one of my favourite soundtracks ever...
It's kind of like the Dark Knight soundtrack with African vocals mixed in...The composer is Clinton Shorter, who I don't *think* has done any film scores before. Nothing big, at least. I'm really hoping he's going to do more, because the District 9 soundtrack is amazing.

Well, yesterday (Dec. 15) the soundtrack to the much anticipated James Cameron film "Avatar" was released. The score is composed and conducted by James Horner. *can hear the groans from non-Horner fans*
Anyway, I'm waiting until after Christmas to buy my copy of the score. From the clips I've heard on various websites, Mr. Horner has done a very good job with the score. He still reuses themes and motifs from earlier works (no surprise there), but with this score he has actually experimented around more with different instruments and synthesizers. Some parts even sound James Newton-Howard-ish.
So, is anyone else planning on checking this score out?

The Star Trek and HBP scores are both up for Grammys. I really enjoyed the Star Trek score, but I think Nicholas Hooper's work on HBP is probably the better of the two. It'd be awesome if either one won, since the award usually goes to a score I've never heard or have no interest in.
star trek wasn't bad, but i definetly think Nicholas Hooper earned it; he did a fantastic job and i really hope he wins. *sigh* T12 wishes he were coming back for Deathly Hallows

Hey, I'm wandering what is the universal favorite pirate of the caribbean song is? Preferably besides He's a Pirate. I'd also like a recommendation on some good pirate piano pieces, not in sheet music.
I'm a Narnia freak
Well, for Christmas I got the new Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Expanded Edition . *is very happy* The CD has ALL the music from the film (in chronological order) and even includes the electronic music for the "Genesis Project" video. (anyone here who has seen the film will know what I'm talking about. )
Anyway, the music has been digitally re-mastered from the original tapes and the sound quality is AMAZING! It's leaps and bounds above the old GNP Crescendo album from the early 90's. Also, the album comes with a very extensive set of liner notes detailing the making of the score. The liner notes include: interview snippets with James Horner and Nicholas Meyer, track-by-track breakdown of the score and various production photos throughout.
In closing, a very nice package and a great Christmas gift. I highly recommend trying to pick up this CD if you can, even if you dislike James Horner..... *coughwwcough*

@ Narnia. Hmm, favorite Pirates track..... Probably either "The Medallion Calls" from the first album or "Parlay" from At Worlds End. Of course, one of the main reasons I like "parlay" is because it reminds me of Once Upon a Time in the West, seeing as how it was a homage to Ennio Morricone and all...
--------------------------------
Oh yes, one last thing....... the score to Back to the Future has finally been released!!!! Intrada has released a 2-disc set of Alan Silvestri's score that includes the complete score (as heard in film) plus the original unused score (on the second disc).
This is a limited release, so you might want to go ahead and buy it before it becomes a very rare, extremely high priced item.

Hey, I'm wandering what is the universal favorite pirate of the caribbean song is? Preferably besides He's a Pirate. I'd also like a recommendation on some good pirate piano pieces, not in sheet music.
Well, I only have a few of the Pirates songs (which will definitely expand because of Christmas though) and some of my favorites are "Up is Down" from At Worlds End and "The Kraken" from Dead Mans Chest (this really is just my opinion at the moment, I only have 3 Pirates songs so once I get more I'll update it). Those two are also some of my favorite piano pieces, both from each separate movie piano book. I have the sheet music from "He's a Pirate" too, and that's great as well. "Up is Down" is a super fun song to play (there are TONS of grace notes )
EDIT: And I forgot, I really hope to get The Two Towers: Complete Recordings CD too. So far it's been the hardest to find (I got FotR from Borders and RotK MP3 from Amazon) but now Amazon has it back in stock
