I pretty much have new favorite quotes everyday :) These are the best of this week:

"There is, of course, nothing to be said against love at first - or even second - sight, but if one is going to indulge in it, it is as well to know the name and address of the objects of one's devotion." ~Bachelors Anonymous P.G. Wodehouse

"A hug is like an emotional Heimlich. Someone puts their arms around you and they give you a squeeze and all your fear and anxiety come shooting out of your mouth in a big wet wad and you can breath again." ~Chuck, Pushing Daisies

If this Sig is by you please let me know, because I can't remember :-(

"I am going to live forever, or die trying!"

Lots of great quotes here! :D A few of my favorites...

"Indecision may or may not be my problem"
-Jimmy Buffet

"Millions saw the apple fall, but Newton was the one who asked why."
-Bernard Baruch

Thousands of humans have been brought to think that humility means pretty women trying to believe they are ugly and clever men trying to believe they are fools. And since what they are trying to believe may, in some cases, be manifest nonsense, they cannot succeed in believing it....
-The Screwtape Letters, Letter XIV, -C.S. Lewis

A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.
-C.S. Lewis

A hero is born among a hundred, a wise man is found among a thousand, but an accomplished one might not be found even among a hundred thousand men.
-Plato

All men are by nature equal, made all of the same earth by one Workman; and however we deceive ourselves, as dear unto God is the poor peasant as the mighty prince.
-Plato

At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet.
-Plato

Astronomy compels the soul to look upwards and leads us from this world to another.
-Plato

"Who can endure a doctrine which would allow only dentists to say whether our teeth were aching, only cobblers to say whether our shoes hurt us, and only governments to tell us whether we were being well governed?"
-C.S. Lewis

(1.) Remember what St. John says: "If our heart condemn us, God is stronger than our heart." The feeling of being, or not being, forgiven and loved is not what matters. One must come down to brass tacks. If there is a particular sin on your conscience, repent and confess it. If there isn't, tell the despondent devil not to be silly. You can't help hearing his voice (the odious inner radio), but you must treat it merely like a buzzing in your ears or any other irrational nuisance. (2.) Remember the story in the Imitation, how the Christ on the crucifix suddenly spoke to the monk who was so anxious about his salvation and said, "If you knew that all was well, what would you, today, do or stop doing?" When you have found the answer, do it or stop doing it. You see, one must always get back to the practical and definite. What the devil loves is that vague cloud of unspecified guilt feeling or unspecified virtue by which he lures us into despair or presumption. "Details, please?" is the answer. (3.) The sense of dereliction cannot be a bad symptom, for Our Lord Himself experienced it in its depth—"Why has thou forsaken me?"
-C. S. Lewis, Letters to an American Lady

"A proud man is always looking down on things and people; and, of course, as long as you're looking down, you can't see something that's above you."
-C.S. Lewis

"If someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles to frown, but it only
takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and whack them in the head."
-Unknown ( I think this is Gibbs' [from the TV show NCIS] motto =)) :p )

Humor is a rubber sword - it allows you to make a point without drawing blood.
-Mary Hirsch

^I love the 2nd to last one! ;)) You're probably right. :P

"C.S. Lewis wasn't about just writing to Christians to make them better. He was about writing books that everyone could read and expand their minds. That's what music is all about, too."
-Matt Thiessen

I love this!!

Here's some of mine(I "stole" the last two from Kat :P):

"Love is not affectionate feeling, but a steady wish for the loved person's ultimate good as far as it can be obtained." -C. S. Lewis

"My natural high is waking up in the morning and realizing that this could be the best day of my life."-Chad Butler(Switchfoot's drummer)

"Even when I hear nothing, I rest in knowing He hears me." -Bryce Avary

"If you truly love someone, you're going to be pure because true love comes from God, and God tells us to remain pure. That's good enough for me."-Jon Foreman(I know it's been already listed, but it's SO good!)

I like this quote partly because of its unexpected source: the 1941 film The Wolf Man - yes, that wolf man, recently remade in a different style. Sir John Talbot (played by Claude Rains) has a large telescope and is asked if he's a professional astronomer. His response?

All astronomers are amateurs. When it comes to the heavens, there's only one professional.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
