^of course ;) Love it. :p

I just went onto iTunes and TLMTD is available, a day early!! :D
I'm pretty happy. ;)
I wonder why.. but whatever, I couldn't help myself. :p Plus the 'complete my album' worked.
I really needed this today. Gonna listen now.

Aslans Country, in which video did he talk about Eustace? I've been really bad with keeping up with their videos...

That would be the one for "Any Other Way". :)

The concert sounds like fun. (In other words, I'm slightly jealous ;) )

I actually played Cable Car for church (offertory) the other day and after the service one of the church leaders (a 60+ year old) came up and said it was his favorite song that I'd ever played. So he asked me for the name and artist and wrote them down

I love this story. ;)) I really want to know if he looked them up and what he thought.

sloopjohn: I'm glad you like Deas Vail. I only have the Beach Boy's greatest hits album. "Kokomo" is definitely very catchy.

One of my favorite things about writing for The Album Project is that every once in a while, I get to be privy to up and coming music. The band Kingsfoil is going to blow up. You heard it from me first. ;) They have a cute reference to LotR in the band name and they make really really awesome rock music. It's the kind of music that could even work on the radio. But please don't discount it because of that. The song "Carnival Goldfish" is excellent for a more mellow song, but "Demons" is the real showstopper. You can get them both for free at NoiseTrade. They're also planning on releasing their debut album for free in a few days, so stay tuned.

Kate: I love how you described BFTBM as a "weaker offering". ;))
Thanks for telling me about the Relient K and Mae "Narnia" songs. :) I'm really wanting to buy "The Everglow"(LP) since I have nothing of Mae's.
Oh,and thanks for telling me to give Keane and 2nd chance. :) I listened to a few of their older songs, and I really enjoyed them.
I haven't listened to your Quiet Science recommendations yet. :( I'll try to get on that soon.
Thanks for telling us about Kingsfoil and their free songs! :) Love their name.
Downloading now.

I'm really excited because my copy of "The Light Meets the Dark" came today! :) My only irritation is that they spelled my name wrong. :p *sigh*

Liberty: Yep, I've seen that vid before. :) I've had it on my ipod for a while. :p :)

Kat: Sounds pretty fun!! Too bad you didn't get to meet Jon. :( But still sounds good. :)

A few of our RL friends have been really starting to like Hello Hurricane, so now I feel like I really, really need to listen to more of it. ;) *laugh*

The concert sounds like fun. (In other words, I'm slightly jealous ;) )

ditto, especially b/c of a recent Paramore obsession I've been going through lately :p

Kate:Wow. Kingsfoil. Is. Amazing. Really looking forward to their debut album. Icing on the cake that's it free. ;)) ;;)

I love reading TAN's "thank-yous". To their producers: "thank you for your commitment, creativity, patience, and of course for not killing us..." =))

Hot off the press, here's my review of "The Light Meets the Dark". http://firerefinedlark.blogspot.com/201 ... tenth.html

BarlowGirl has a new music video for their song Sing Me a Love Song. It's exclusively on Tangle. http://www.tangle.com/view_video?viewkey=67cac98e6d30d1c83371 I didn't really like it very well. The idea is good but it's not really a music video. It's a video with BarlowGirl's song as the soundtrack. What do you think?

^that vid was prett good, but it should have showed BarlowGirl. Same with Owl City's "Umbrella Beach" music video. It would have been better if he was in it, not just his picture...

Got my copy of TLMTD today! Only bad thing is I asked for a size M tshirt and they sent me XL :| . Oh well. The booklet is really cool! For anyone who didn't order the CD through them, you can get the free audio blogs and acoustic songs and Healing Begins at http://www.tenthavenuenorth.com/tourpresale :) . I really like the CD, except that it doesn't sound as organic as O&U. More produced. But it's still good. I think my favorite song is All the Pretty Things :) .

;)) (Edit: Speaking about TLMTD by the way...) I liked your review, Lark, even though I haven't heard the songs yet.

I thought that I had posted something in this thread a week ago, but apparently I didn't hit submit. X( It was pretty long, so I don't really feel like re-typing it. :p

A couple of recommendations:

Matthew Mayfield has a really great EP titled "The Fire EP" that you can get for free at NoiseTrade.

Nate Hale is a great acoustic artist, his solid EP "Songs From The Shade" can also be found for free at NoiseTrade.

I really want TAN's new album, but it'll be a couple of weeks before I can afford to buy it. :((

And you can stream Jimmy Needham's upcoming album for free at NewReleaseTuesday. ;)

Ohmyohmyohmyohmyohmyohmyohmyohmyohmyohmyohmyohmyohmyohmy!

Wow.

So. I'm sure most of you are familiar with the song "The Sound (John M. Perkins' blues)" by Switchfoot.

Well, I just listened to it today, and I was thinking, "John Perkins? We know JP. It'd be cool if it was the same guy."

Well, I looked up a little background on the song... And what do you know. It's the same guy!!! *laughs with utter excitement*

Anyway, our family met Mr. Perkins in Mississippi--what is it now, 6 years ago? It's been a while, 6 or 7. But we went to his church and worked on fixing houses and stuff with him for a week or so. I knew he was "slightly-well-known" but... I was a bit shocked to see the Switchfoot song and how it related!!!

I'm pretty blown away. And I think it's totally awesome. :D JP was such a great guy... I hope we can go down to Mississippi and visit him again. Don't know if he'd remember us, but... oh well. :D

Ali:You could sell the shirt on ebay. ;) Glad you like "All the Pretty Things",I've listened to that song so much. ;)) I love the whole album but that song is really exceptional.

Queen Susan: Thank you SO much! :) That really means a lot to me. I had a lot of fun writing it. I actually felt like I didn't say enough about certain songs...

HelloHurricane: Aw,I'm so sorry! :( Maybe NW atuomatically logged you out. That's happened to me a lot.
Yay for more free music!! :D *downloads*
I'm sorry you can't get the cd for a while, but it'll be worth the wait. TLMTD is a really incredible album. :) Let us know what you think when you get it!

Ooh,Jimmy Needham! I love his voice. ;)) Thanks for the link!

I don't think I've posted this here, but you can dowload Attack Cat(former Relient K drummer Dave Douglas' new band)'s song "Springtime" for free here.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to look into the stuff recommended in these posts but I just wanted to catch up quickly-
Ali: I took some pics, but most of them turned out really bad. My camera can't zoom far. :P
And.. your new location has something to do with that TRS song? ;)

Aslans Country: Ok, thanks! I'll go watch that video now. Hm, maybe it worked a day early because you're in Japan? I dunno! haha.

Kate: I don't know if he listened to that song again or looked into more of their music. I'll have to ask him next Sunday!
I downloaded the Kingsfoil songs; thanks for mentioning them. I'll post again once I listen to them...

Queen Susan: I'm glad you enjoy Hello Hurricane so much!
And WOW! That is really cool about John Perkins. I actually looked him up when the album first came out because I wasn't sure who he was. :P

Lark: The download for Springtime won't work. I've tried twice.. :/ It won't let me confirm my email. Did you have any problem with it?
