I LOVE those kinds of camis! My sister got my six or so from a store in San Diego called The Closet. They're all sorts of colors and are SO useful, without those annoying little elastics.
"Let the music cast its spell,
give the atmosphere a chance.
Simply follow where I lead;
let me teach you how to dance."
Ugh, I can never find good camis anywhere. I guess I need to look somewhere other then the second hand store where I get most of my other stuff.
I have one black one that's really long, so I wear that a lot. It's low though, so I have to double layer with another tank top or something if the top layer is low.
Basically, I'm always wearing 2-4 layers. At least in winter. It gets annoying though, because I get super warm. blech.
Aaaaand here's a "jumper" I just finished sewing a few weeks ago! I like it.
Ahem. Sorry for the blue shirt underneath. It doesn't match but I was in too big of a hurry (and I was too lazy) to take it off beforehand.
Here's a closeup of the plaid fabric.
And here's it hanging a little more naturally, though not the best pic of it.
Anyways! I'm pleased with how it turned out... I've worn just black under it so far, though I have a red that would work I think.
Oh, and sorry the coloring is so different/off in these. I think it's more near the color of the middle pic. *shrug*

I agree with Elanor! *wants one, too* The dress is lovely, Queen S! I really like the simplicity of it. And you sewed this? 😮 Wow! Everything about the dress is great, the skirt, the top. You look beautiful in it!!

It looks like a 60's dress. I kow this because the show heart beat is set in the 60's and soemone on there was wearing a dress nearly the same as that.
Thank you everyone for the lovely comments!! I was pleased with the turnout too.

...I'm not sure if this should get it's own topic or not (Maybe a special feature?), but does anybody else on this forum cosplay? If so, do you sew your own costumes and make your own set pieces/props?

Oof.
Ozymandias, I believe that AliceLuna does cosplay, and I think some others, but I don't remember who all.
Is anyone still doing polyvore sets? I've decided to get myself involved in yet another polyvore competition, this one for Nordstrom's Wedding, and its quite fun. I've actually started blogging about it. The dress I'm basing the set off of is a single shoulder Tadashi Shoji gown, and is quite pretty...I could see it as a wedding dress. On one hand, I don't usually like things that look slashed/cut/torn, but on the other, this dress has a light, refreshing feel about it. I actually ended up blogging about it, if any of you want to see. * is somewhat proud of her new blog *
On a different note...is anyone interested in doing polyvore challenges again, over the summer?
* flits off to other threads *

Just out of curiosity, does anyone else like to wear corsets as a fashion statement? I'm not talking about the ones that are sold as sleepwear, but the ones that are meant to be worn over lighter blouses, like those in this shop: http://www.artfire.com/users/damselinthisdress
I myself would love to wear something like the ones shown in the shop above, but they're a tad expensive for me at the moment.
Oh, definitely. A word of advice about buying corsets though: try to have them made specifically for you. If you buy a generic, you have a very high chance of severely damaging your body, especially if you wear them a lot and they are true corsets.

^ Duly noted. I have tried on true corsets before, and though they are nice, the main problems that I have had with them is that they are either way too short in the waist (as I am very long-waisted), or way too tight. XD I'm still on the lookout, however.
lol, I get the same problem, Ozymandias. I've found that ones that do not include a bust piece are much more likely to fit, though, which is helpful. I noticed most of the ones you linked to do have that feature (no corset for the bust), which is really nice.
I'm really excited. I just finished my entry for my first polyvore competition. You can view it here. Let me know what you think!

The jumper looks lovely, QueenSusan!
Ozymandias, I believe Susan's_look_a_like also does cosplay.
Your polyvore set looks quite nice, LA! Did you end up using some things not from Nordstrom in the set in the end, or not?
Some days you battle yourself and other monsters. Some days you just make soup.
