We have nasty wind right now, exactly the same as Tuesday last week. Not a good sign. Tonight into tomorrow is supposed to be rain and snow. Not quite as cold but not pretty. I expect El Paso to just about panic and shut down due to what happened last week. We'll see what happens.

Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.

I feel your pain! I don't need it to snow again! My art teacher had the forecast on her phone and she told us what it said and it was somewhat frightening! I want it to warm up! The snow just melted two days ago. I don't want it to come back. :( I'm goin' to pray that the weather clears up. As I get older I understand that snow days are not as fun anymore, they are a big pain! :)) Well I hope everyone has better weather than me! :)

The wind has died and now the cold air is expected to come in. Rain and snow are forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Not as cold, but snow nonetheless. We'll see how the city reacts.

I saw some coverage of the El Paso situation on the news. It appears for the moment that the water shortage is improving slightly.

Today's high was 1F/-17C, with windchills lower than -40 in much of the state last night. This may be the same cold that's filtering toward the south. A few more cold days, but we may actually approaching freezing temperatures this weekend. Break out the sunscreen. ;))

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

We got the "blue norther" here as well. It dropped from the upper 40s into the 20s in about an hour and a half in some places. We had a bit of ice again. It's bitterly cold though this time around. The humidity level is much higher than last week and it's pretty rough to stand outside very long. It'll be in the 60s by Saturday so it won't last long. ;))

Didn't reach the freezing temps last week as I thought we might 34.9F/1.6C was the low mark). But we have some cold, dry air moving through for a few days this week and the way the temperature has been dropping tonight, an outside chance of low 30'sF. B-)

Worried about the vehicles though, our truck started ok but then stopped running, second time we started it it kept running, so, 2nd time's the charm ;) .

That's a lot of snow in a short time, wolf! My dad told us recently of the big snowstorm in Toronto back in the early 50s, I think it was, when it snowed 24 inches in 24 hours, and brought the entire city to a standstill. I do wish I had been alive then. :P

How has the weather fared in Australia, coracle, IlF, wagga, and Warrior? Been thinking about you guys!

It's kinda weird, but I like really cold weather (provided I'm wearing the right gear!). Yesterday it was about 5F, and I have a long walk from my car to my classes so it felt like an adventure :p .
A lot of people groan whenever it snows a little bit more, but I love it! Snow sports are awesome. ;)

And by the way stargazer your sig is amazing, I love that place.

Yes, stargazer's Tetons/moon signature is awesome!

Well, if you're weird, then so am I, TheGeneral, and proud of it. ;)) *high fives another snow lover* I agree: when snow falls, it's always an adventure. I forget if I mentioned in a previous post that as the big storm approached last week, I actually tape-recorded the radio meteorologist giving the forecast. It makes my heart beat faster to hear phrases such as "winter storm warning", "the snow will really intensify late this evening", "blowing and drifting snow", "white-out conditions, even blizzard conditions for the early morning hours", "a possibility of 40 cms of snow with this storm system". Crazy, I know, but I love it! ;))

We've had very cold temperatures here (although not as frigid as in some parts of North America). With the windchill factored in, daytimes have often felt around -22C/-7.6F, and nightimes around -30C/-22F. We have a couple of feet of snow that has fallen over the season (really, just since New Years), with banks being much higher. 'Tis such a better winter than last year's, when we hardly got any snow. *weeps at the memory* I'm still hoping for a couple more good storms, but we shall see.

Last night and this morning were starkly clear, which was a great opportunity to night-sky gaze a bit, given we have had so many cloudy nights lately. Venus blazes in the dark hours before dawn in the S-E, and in the evening Jupiter shares an areas of the sky with the Moon, along with majestic Orion and bright Sirius in the evenings.

Shadowlander, that meteorite you saw on your way to work sounds amazingly cool! Truly something that one does not come across every day. What a treat! :D

As I read over the last few pages, it's such fun to hear about the weather patterns all around the world: from California, Australia, Minnesota (wow, your state has had it cold, 'gazer!), Russia, Texas, Illinois (fun photos, Gymmie: how I love the look of that pristine snow~), New York, and various parts of Canada.

Our forecast is to warm up on the weekend, with even the possibility of some mixed precipitation on Sunday (rain/snow mix). Please, may it be snow. I mean, I love rain, but in the spring, not in the winter, thank you very much. :P It is nearly mid-February, though, and we can have some melty-type days now and then at this time of year. 'Though we can also get some whopper snowstorms still too. *wishes for the latter* ;)

Since summer is near, the heat is getting worst. Wind barely is felt here.... but night time is cool and chilly.

We are warming up here in El Paso. It's supposed to get to the upper 50's today. We are still on recovery mode from the last week's super freeze. All store are sold out of any plumbing supplies, heaters, etc and they just can't keep up with the demand. Of course in terms of heaters, I doubt there will be much need for them any more until next year. Once we get to the middle of February, our 'winter' is essentially over and we start moving into spring. Summer hits anytime from late-April into May and stay that way until October.

The weather is odd. Rain is due but it isn't here yet. It's really sunny and looks hot, but it's not, and it gets colder every day.

Would you like some snow? We have big piles of the stuff. :) Summer is still months away here.

But it was a toasty 48F/9C here today, and there was lots of melting. Fortunately it's going to cool down a little this week - melting this stuff too fast could bring some serious flooding in some parts of the state.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
