It was cloudy early but now it's super clear out - and still very windy. The wind has blown the majority of our leaves down, and now they're gradually making their way out of our yard and into our neighbor's yard. Haha! ;))

It was so windy today that I almost got blown onto the street from the sidewalk. :-s My hair was a complete mess afterwards. :p

ok, today was really weird :P
we have been having normal fall temperatures here in New Hampshire (low 40's to low 50's) but today it got to 69 degrees! weird. :D I love it though! it's awesome!

Believe it or not, this was an effect of this monster storm. The low pressure brings warm southerly air north as it approaches, and (usually) cold northerly air after it passes.

This is still a huge storm, equivalent in barometric pressure to a cat 3 hurricane and effecting over half the US and some of eastern Canada. The atmospheric pressure in northern Minnesota today set a new record (955 mb) for the Lower 48 states.

A large pine tree fell on a big power line across from our house last night, knocking out our power for a while but giving us a pretty spectacular fireworks show - the tree even caught fire. Now it's just so much firewood. ;))

Up to 9 inches (22 cm) of snow fell north of here yesterday, making some of the high-school football games interesting.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Another typhoon has entered our area of responsibility. Our place is having heavy rains and sudden winds, making the atmosphere very chilly and cool. Hope the typhoon doesn't bring any damage!

It snowed today, which was very nice and pretty...but the snow has melted and now it's all muddy, which isn't so bad either, I LOVE mud :D

It was colder than usual today. This past week has been pretty warm, so I was suprised that it was so cold, although it is usually cold around this time where I live.

wildrose: thanks. :">.

Fair weather today. Not bad at all. Humid wasn't that high and the atmosphere was cool. It made me feel sleepy all day. i-)

November began here with a pleasant sunny day, slightly above average (high around 53F/11C). With more of the same in the extended forecast, our snow is late this year. ;))

But then I should know not to taunt the weather. ;)

And since weather buffs love their stats as much as baseball fans, October 2010 was the 13th warmest on record here, and (with 2007) the warmest in 45 years. 24 of 31 days were above average in temperature, and the average high was 6F/3C higher than average (and 15F/8.3C warmer than last year).

Remember that this upcoming weekend brings a return to Standard Time in the US and Canada; set your clocks back an hour Saturday night (or at 0200 Sunday if you're up ;)) ). That means the sun will set before 5 pm here Sunday evening...plenty of time for stargazing after dark.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

It was FREEZING today. It still looks very pretty outside though. I like taking walks outside, even if it is freezing. :p

It has finally started to get to the point where I need to bring out the long pants. Temps are in the 70's for highs but it is starting to get chilly overnight. This past week was the first time I've worn jeans since maybe March (for weather reasons, not for other reasons). I still don't need to get out the coats, but they are handy for when I need an early morning rise and I need to be outisde for a little bit. This is the perfect time of year to be in El Paso.

Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.

It's beginning to sound more comfortable for you, Fencer. :)

Incredibly, our highs are predicted to be close to 70F/21C the next couple days. That's a whopping 25F/14C over the average (a cool 45F/7C). Our snow is behind schedule, though some may fall this upcoming weekend.

As much as I enjoy snow, this short delay doesn't bother me. The days are pleasant and the nights crisp. We'll still get 5 or 6 months or so of snow. ;))

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

It's raining where I am. But it isn't very cold. Kind of warm, actually. :-

Our warm, dry stretch continues. Its 11:50 in the morning and we're just 1F shy of tying the all-time record high for the date - we're still running close to 20F over average!

I had a nice afternoon fire yesterday to celebrate - and burned a few more of the branches that fell in the big windstorm 2 weeks ago.

And it was on this date in 1975 that weather caused the loss of the ore carrier Edmund Fitzgerald in Lake Superior. Here's a tribute including some audio clips of the search set to Gordon Lightfoot's song.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
